Your First Print: The Toolbox
I. WHAT YOU NEED

The Ocke Print Folder –available
here –that contains:
•The PLA 1 mm nozzle
Presetting .factory file
•The Toolbox .stl file
A spool with more than
50 gof 2.85 mm PLA filament.
Choose the color you like from
our online shop here!
Install Simplify3D.

II. SLICING

Click on File >
Open Factory File
Select the factory
file from the First
Print Folder
Click on File > Import
Model
Select “Toolbox.stl”
Double click on the model.
With the side bar you can move,
rotate or scale the object.
To obtain the best results, in this
case we recommend not to
change these values.
Double click on
the process
“Process1”to
open the
process settings

6. Modify the process settings, introducing the values we give you on the image below. You just need to change
the values marked in yellow.
7. Save your file by clicking on File > Save Factory File as… That way you will be able to edit your settings in the
future.
8. And now… click on Prepare to Print!
9. Preview your slicing and Save Toolpaths to Disk.
1)Unselect Support and Raft
2)Edit the Extruder values
3)Edit the Layer values
4)Edit the Infill values
5) Click OK to finish!
On the Built Statistics, you can have
a rough estimation of your print time
and material
You can change here the
preview options
When you are finished, click on
Save Toolpaths to Disk to save
the G-Code in a pen drive.

III. PREPARE THE MACHINE
1. CLEAN THE PRINT BED. Use ethanol (pure, with no additives) on a piece of smooth cloth.
2. START THE MACHINE
Turn on the power switch at the
back of the machine
Press the yellow reset button by
the main screen
Press the connect button on the
BigRep UI
3. HEAT THE MACHINE
Go to the Temperature & Material
menu, on the main menu of the UI
Turn on the heating of the bed by
selecting 60°C, and wait for the
machine to achieve the
temperature (it will take around
20 minutes)
Turn on the heating of the T0 by
selecting 205°C and wait for the
extruder to achieve the
temperature (it will take a few
minutes)
4. INSERT THE FILAMENT IN THE EXTRUDER
Place the spool at the back of the
machine and fixate it with the
sliding bracket
Guide the filament through the
teflon tube into the extruder (T0)
while pushing the extruders
release clamp
Go to the Control Menu on the UI.
Select “T0” and extrude 100mm to
clean the nozzle

IV. PRINT!
1. LOAD YOUR FILE
Insert the USB-Stick on your
BigRep. Click on “Load File”, at
the Print Menu.
Select your file and click on “Open”
2. START THE PRINT Don’t start the print if the bed is not heated yet
3. TAKE CARE OF YOUR FIRST LAYER
Your first layer should look like the one shown on the first image. If it doesn’t you will have to adjust the
distance between the extruder and the bed, as shown on the right image.
4. REMOVE THE PRINT
a) Wait until the printer has cooled down.
b) Remove the print by hand or with a spatula
c) Enjoy your Toolbox!
IMPORTANT! Go to the
Control Menu, and click on
“Home all axes"
Go back to the Print Menu and
Start the print!
a) Unlock the locking nut
b) Use the screw to adjust
the distance to the bed
c) Lock the nut again

Perfect
If your first layer
looks like this,
the nozzle is too
far away from
the bed.
If your first layer
looks like this,
the nozzle is too
close to the bed.
