1.1Gettingtoknowyourtouch phone
1.2Installingthe SIM card, battery,and storagecard
You needto removethebackcover before you caninstalltheSIMcardand
battery.Also,makesure to always turnoff thepower before installingor
replacingtheSIMcardand battery.
Toremovethe back cover
1. Makesure yourdevice is turnedoff.
2. Firmlyholdthedevice with both handsandthefront panelfacingdown.
3.Pushthebackcover up with yourthumbsuntilitdisengagesfromthedevice
and thenslideitupto remove.
Toinstallthe SIM card
TheSIMcardcontainsyourphonenumber,service details,and phonebook/
messagememory.Yourdevice issupportedboth1.8Vand 3VSIMcards.
Note:1. ThephonecanbesupportedthedoubleSIMcards.
2.SomelegacySIMcardsmaynot functionwith yourdevice.You should
consultwith yourservice provider forareplacement SIMcard.There maybe
feesforthis service.
1. Removethebatteryifitis installed.
2.LocatetheSIMcardslot,and theninserttheSIMcardwith itsgold contacts
facingdownanditscut-off corner facingout thecardslot.
3. SlidetheSIMcardcompletelyinto theslot.
Toinstallthe battery
Yourdevice comeswith arechargeableLithium-ion batteryandis designedto
useonlymanufacturer-specifiedoriginalbatteriesandaccessories.Battery
performance dependson manyfactors,includingnetworkconfiguration,signal
strength, and usagepatterns.
Warning:Toreduce risk offire orburns:
Donotattempt to open,disassemble, orservice thebatterypack.
Donotcrush, puncture,shortexternalcontacts, ordisposeofinfire orwater.
Donotexposeto temperaturesabove60°C(140°F).

Replace onlywith thebatterypackdesignatedforthis product.
Recycleordisposeofusedbatteryasstipulatedbylocalregulations.
1.Alignthebattery’sexposedcopper contactswiththebatteryconnectorsatthe
bottompartofthebatterycompartment.
2.Insertthecontactssideofthebatteryfirstand thengentlypushthebattery
into place.
3. Replace thebackcover.
Toremovethe battery
1. Makesure yourdevice is turnedoff.
2. Removethebackcover.
3.Thebottomofthephonehasanotch.Liftthebatterybythenotchto remove
it.
Toinstallamemorycard
Tohaveadditionalstorageforyourimages,videos,music,and files,youcan
purchaseamemorycardand installitinto yourdevice.
1. Makesure thatyourdevice isturnedoff, and thenremovethebackcover.
2. Locatethememorycardslot on theupper partoftheexposedright panel.
3. Insertthememorycardinto theslot with itsgold contactsfacingdownuntilit
clicks into place.
Note:Toremovethememorycard, press ittoejectitfromtheslot.
1.3Chargingthe Battery
Newbatteriesare shippedpartiallycharged.Before you startusingyourdevice,
itis recommendedthatyou install andchargethebattery.Somebatteries
performbestafter severalfull charge/dischargecycles.
Note:OnlytheACadapter and USB synccableprovidedwith yourdevice must
beusedto chargethedevice.
ConnecttheUSB connectoroftheACadapter tothesyncconnectoronyour
device,and thenplugintheACadaptertoanelectricaloutlettostartcharging
thebattery.
As thebatteryis beingchargedwhilethedevice is on,achargingicon appears
inthetitlebar oftheHomescreen.After thebatteryhasbeenfullycharged,a
full batteryicon appearsinthetitlebar oftheHomescreen.

Warning: •Donotremovethebatteryfromthedevice whileyou are chargingit
usingtheACorcaradapter.
•As asafetyprecaution,thebatterystopschargingbefore itoverheats.
1.4Startingup the device
Power on/off
Topower off yourphone, press &holdPOWER.Onrelease,thePhoneoptions
menu opens. Select ‘Power off’and confirm.
Topower onagain, press &hold POWER.
Silent mode
Tosilence yourphonequickly, press &hold the –volumebutton tozerovolume.
OrontheHomescreen, touch andselectSettings >Audioprofiles.Select
‘Silent’checkbox.
Oron thelockscreen, slidetheringicon leftwardto switchthesilentmode.
Screen sleep
After aperiod ofinactivity,yourscreenwill goto sleep(displaywill turnblack).
Insleep, yourphoneusesless batterypower. You cancontrolthis behavior:
Setscreentimeout period
1. OntheHomescreen, touch and selectSettings.
2. SelectDisplayoption.
3. SelectScreentimeout. Selectatimefromthemenu.
Prevent sleepwhilecharging
1. OntheHomescreen, thentouch andselectSettings.
2. SelectApplications, andthenselectDevelopment.
3. Select ‘Stayawake’checkbox.
Lockscreen&put phonetosleep
Except whenon aphonecall,fromanyscreen,press POWER(immediately).
Whilenot on acall,tolockyourcontrolbuttonsand screenfromaccidental
touchactivation, press POWER.
You canincreasethesecurityofyourphonebysettingascreenunlockpattern.
Once set,inorder tounlockyourscreen,you’llhaveto drawthecorrectunlock
pattern.Youcansetyourscreenunlockpatternasfollows:
1. OntheHomescreen, touch and selectSettings.

2.SelectLocation&security,andthenscrolldown totheScreenunlockpattern
section.
3.Setorchangeyourunlockpatternbyselectingeither Setunlockpatternor
Changeunlockpattern, asapplicable.
4.Followthepromptstodefineyourpattern.Note:You mustslideyourfinger
alongthescreento createthepattern, not selectindividualdots. Connectatleast
fourdots.
Whenyou unlockyourscreen,ifyou want yourpatterntobehiddenasyou
drawit, clear ‘Usevisiblepattern’checkbox.
Homescreen
TheHomescreenis yourstartingpointforusingalltheapplicationsonyour
phone.Youcancustomize yourHomescreentodisplayapplications,shortcuts,
and widgetsasyou like.
1.Touchtheapplication tab( )with yourfingertipto revealthe
applicationicons.
2.TheHomescreenactuallyextendsbeyond thescreenwidth. OnHomescreen,
slideyourfingertipleftand right alongthescreentorevealthefullwidthofthe
Homescreen.This additionalspace givesyou more roomto customize Home
with applications, shortcuts, and widgets.
3. CreateHomescreenshortcutsandwidgets:
•FromtheHomescreen, press MENU to select ‘Add’,TheAdd to Homescreen
menu opens.
•SelectanApplication shortcut,aShortcuttosomeofyoursavedinformation
(suchasaplaylist),aWidget(a clockorpicture frame),FoldersorWallpapers
foryourHomescreen.
•Theapplication,shortcut,folder,orwidgetappearson thescreen.If you
selectedWallpaper, you’llbeaskedto selectapicture.
Tip:Tocreateanapplication shortcut quickly, touchtheapplication tabto reveal
alltheapplicationicons,thentouch&holdanapplicationicon.Itsshortcutis
addedtotheHomescreen; closetheapplication tabto see it.
4.ToremoveashortcutorwidgetfromyourHomescreen,touch&hold the
itemto enter “movemode”.Theapplicationtabturnsinto aTrashbutton.Drag

theitemtotheTrashbutton andrelease.You’llknowwhenyouritemis inthe
Trashbecausetheitemand thetabwill turnred.
5. MoveobjectsontheHomescreen
•Tomoveanicon orother itemon theHomescreen,you mustfirsttouch&
holdittoenter movemode.Theobjectwill magnifywhenit’sreadyto be
moved.
•Without liftingyourfinger (oryou’ll dropout ofmovemode),dragtheobject
to thenewposition.Tomoveanitemto asection oftheHomescreennot in
view,moveitto theedgeofthescreenandholditthere foramoment.The
screenviewwill shift; position theobjectandrelease.
1.5StatusIcons
Connectionstatusicons
Alongthetopofyourphonescreenis thestatusbar.Ontheleftside,iconswill
appear,notifyingyou ofanewmessage, upcomingcalendar event, orsomething
elseyou shouldnotice.Ontheright sideofthestatusbar,you’ll see connection
statusicons.

2Usingphonefeatures
2.1Turningthe phone functiononand off
ToenableordisableAirplane Mode
Inmanycountries,youarerequiredbylawtoturnoff thephonewhileonboard
anaircraft.Another wayto turnoff thephonefunction is to switchyourdevice
toAirplaneMode.
WhenyouenableAirplaneMode,all wireless radioson yourdevice are turned
off, includingthephonefunction,Bluetooth, andWi-Fi.
1. Touch ->Settings->Wireless &networks ->Airplanemode.
2. Touch ‘Airplanemode’toenableordisable.
Whenyou disableAirplanemode,thephonefunction is turnedbackon and the
previousstateofBluetoothandWi-Fiare restored.
Adjustingthe volume
Press Volumebuttonon thesideofthephonetoshowthevolumescreen.
Ifthephoneis invibratingmode,thevoice will bemutedautomaticallyandthe
device will vibratewhenthere is anincomingcall.
2.2Makingacall
OnHomescreen, touch ->Phonetoenter thedialscreen.
Touchtheon-screendialpadtoenteranumber,touch ‘Delete’button todelete
numbersyou’veentered. Touch&hold todeleteall thenumbersinthefield.
Todialanumber,touch ‘CALL1’button (Greenicon)bytheSIM1card,touch
‘CALL2’button (Blueicon)bytheSIM2card.Toend acall,touch ‘END’
button(Redicon).
1. Calllogtab:Selectanentrylistedinthelogto call thenumber.
2.Contactstab:Contactswith phonenumbersare listed.Selectacontact,and
thenselectthephonenumber todialthecall.

Callingvoicemail
Number 1is generallyreservedforyourvoice mail.Tapandholdthis buttonon

2.3Answeringand Endingacall
Whenyou receiveaphonecall,theincomingvoice call screenwill appear,
allowingyou to either answer orignore thecall.
1. Toanswer anincomingcall, slide ‘ANSWER’(Greenicon)buttonrightward.
2. Torejectacall, slide ‘REJECT’button(Redicon)button leftward.
2.4In-call options
Whileon acall, revealthein-calloptions:Speaker, Mute, Hold, EndandMore.
NotethatifBluetooth servicesare on andyou areconnectedto ahands-free
device, themore menu indicatorwill showBluetoothon.
1.Speaker:Tousethespeaker,select ‘Speaker’soitshows agreenbar.Toturn
itoff,selectitagainsothebar is unfilled.Thestatusbarwill displaythis icon
whenthespeaker is on.
2.Mute:Tomuteyoursideoftheconversation,select ‘Mute’so itshows a
greenbar.Toturnitoff,selectitagainsothebar is unfilled.Thestatusbar will
displaythis icon whenMuteis on.
3.Hold:Toputanactivecall on hold,select ‘Hold’soitshows agreenbar.To
resumethecall,ortakethecalloff hold,selectitagainsothebar is unfilled.If
you takeacallwhilealreadyonacall,thefirstcall willbeplacedonhold
automatically. Thestatusbarwill displaythis icon whenacall is onhold.
4.Add call:Ifyou needtoenter numberswhileon acall,touch ‘More’taband
select ‘Add call’.
5. Incomingcall:Duringcall inprogress,ifyou are on acall (“call inprogress”)
whenanothercallcomesin(“incomingcall”), you haveafewchoices:
•Answer theincomingcall and place thecall inprogresson hold.Toswitch
callsatanytime, touch ‘More’button toselect ‘Swapcalls’.
•If you don’twanttointerruptyourcallinprogress, thenslide ‘END’leftward.
•If you haveonecall inprogressand onecaller onhold, toendbothcalls, touch
‘More’buttontoselect ‘Endall’.
6.Whileonacall,youcanconference uptosix callers,countingyourself.Note
thatyoucanalsohaveanadditionalcaller onholdduringaconference call,
regardless ofhowmanyparticipantsare on theconference.

Note:Whether thegroup callfunction canbeuseddependson whether the
networkoperatorsupportsand providessuchfunction aswell aswhether you

2.5Usingcallhistory
1. Themissedcall icon appearsinthetitlebarwhenyoumissedacall.
2.Use ‘Call log’tabtocheckwhothecaller was,orviewall yourdialed
numbers,andreceivedcalls.Toopen ‘Calllog’tab,touch ‘Calllog’buttonin
thephonescreento enterthecallhistorylist.
3. Scroll toselectthecontactornumber you wanttodial, touch ‘Call’button.
4.Tapandhold theselectedcontactyou wanttocall,andthenyoucanmaketo
do thefollowingoptionsofcall, editnumber before call, send textmessage, add
to contactsorremovefromcall logphoneontheshortcutmenu.

3.1Dual-SIM settings
You canselecttoactivateordeactivatetheSIMcardyou wanttoopen.
3.2Wirelesscontrols
Wi-Fion/off:Selectthis checkboxifyou prefer touseWi-Fiforyourdata
connection.
Wi-Fisettings:OpentheWi-Fisettings screen; selectitfromthenetworklist.
Provideyourusernameorpasswordifrequired.
Bluetooth on/off:Usethis checkboxto turnBluetoothserviceson oroff.
Bluetoothsettings:With Bluetoothserviceson,youcanopentheBluetooth
settings screento:
•Renameyourdevice.
•Selecttobediscoverableforup to120seconds,ornotdiscoverable.
•Pairorunpairwith oneoftheBluetoothdevicesinrange-You will beasked
to typeaPINbefore pairing.Refer to themanufacturer’sdocumentationforthe
PINcode.

Airplanemodeon/off:Whenairplanemodeisselected, all wireless connectivity

•Selecttoconnectonlyto 2G(slower) networks tosavebatterypower.
•Selectawireless operatornetwork-Scanforall availablenetworks, orselecta
networkautomatically.
•Add oredit networkAccess Point Names(APNs)-Donot changethis setting
unless advisedto do so byyourwireless operator!
3.3Call settings
Notethatwhenyou open ‘Callsettings’forSIM1orSIM2, yourcurrent settings
are fetched, whichcantakeafewmoments.
FixedDialingNumbers:This feature allows you to restrictoutgoingcallstoa
fixedsetofnumbers.Toenablethis feature you mustknowtheSIMPIN2code
foryourphone.Youcangetthis number fromyourwirelessoperator,assuming
this feature is supported.
Voicemailservice:Selecttosetavoicemailnumber thatisn’tbeingreadfrom
theSIMcard.
Callforwarding:Selecthowyouwantbusy,unanswered,andunreachablecalls
to behandled.There is alsoanoptiontoAlways forward.
Call barring: Restrictto answer ordialthecallinanysituation.You needto
applytothenetworkoperatorforopeningtheinternationallong-distance
function andgetnetworkrestrictingcodeforbarringsetups.
Additionalsettings:Fromthis settingyou cansetyourCaller IDpreference and
turnon/off call waiting.
Cell broadcast(supportedbythenetwork):Setand activatereceiveoflocal
information broadcastfromthenetwork.Choosewhether you want to receive
information broadcastfromyournetworksuchasweather forecast,traffic
update,news, and taxi service info.

Unknownsources:Selectthis checkboxifyou want theabilitytodownload

dataand phoneremainsecure;itis recommendedyounot selectthis checkbox.
Manageapplications:Viewall theapplicationsstoredon yourphoneandhow
muchspace theyoccupy.Ifyou’vedownloadedanapplication fromAndroid
Market, you canuninstall it fromthis screen. Selectaspecificapplication to:
1.Clearyouruser data(ifyou haveanyassociatedwith aparticular

4.1Datasynchronization
SomeGoogleapplicationson yourphone(Gmail,Calendar,and Contacts)give
you access tothesamepersonalinformation thatyoucanadd,view,and editon
yourcomputer usingGoogleWebapplications.This meansthatwhenyouadd,
change,ordeleteyourinformation inanyoftheseapplicationson theWeb,the
updatedinformation alsoappearsonyourphone,andviceversa.Also,ifyou
loseyourphoneorifyourphoneis destroyed,yourpersonalinformation is not
lostand will appear,asbefore, onareplacement phone.
This mirroringofinformation happensthroughover-the-airdata
synchronization,ordata “syncing”.Datasyncingoccursinthebackground and

3.YourphonestartsscanningforBluetooth deviceswithinrange.As theyare

6.Oncepaired,selectthedevice nameto connect.You canalsotouch&hold
thenameto openthecontextmenu, andthenselectConnect.
7. Pairingand connection statusappear underthedevice name.
8.OncetheotherBluetoothdevice shows “connected”status,youcanstart
usingitto makeand receivephonecalls.

context menu.SelectDisconnectorUnpair,asappropriate.If you select
‘Unpair’whenconnected, youwill bedisconnectedaswell.
Notes:Thephonesupportsonlytheheadsetand hands-free Bluetoothprofiles,
soifyou trytoconnecttoadevice thatis notaheadsetorhands-free car kit,
thenyou will receivean “unableto connect”message.
Ifyou pairwith asecond headsetwhileconnectedtothefirst,thefirstheadset
will remainconnected.Toswitchconnectiontothesecond headsetyoumust
