1.1 Key to Symbols

3.1 Operation of Buttons

Button Description Function
Power Button Press this button to turn the air conditioner ON or OFF.
MODE Button: Press this button to select the air conditioner / heat pump's mode of operation.
AUTO --> COOL --> DRY --> HEAT --> FAN
Eco Intelligent Eye Button
Press to activate the Intelligent Eye feature, which detects people's activity in the room to save energy.
—In COOL mode, this function automatically lowers the compressor frequency to save energy after 30
minutes of no activity.
—The unit will automatically resume operation once it senses activity again
Temperature Control
UP Button( ): Push this button to increase the indoor temperature setting in 1°F increments , limited to 86°F.
DOWN Button( ): Push this button to decrease the indoor temperature setting in 1°F increments, limited to 60°F.
Press and hold the UP ( ) and DOWN ( ) buttons together for 3 seconds to alternate the temperature display
between the °C & °F scales.
NOTE: Temperature contol is not available in Fan mode.
SET Button
Press this button to scroll through functions as follows:
Breeze Away --> Active Clean --> Fresh --> Sleep --> Follow Me --> AP Mode...
The selected symbol will flash on the screen. Press the OK button to Confirm
For more information on the Set function, refer to section 3.4
NOTE: Fresh and AP mode are not available for this system
OK Button Press this button to confirm selection functions.
TIMER Button
Press this button to initiate the auto-on time sequence.
Each press will increase the auto-timed setting in 30 minute increments. When the setting time displays 10.0,
each press will increase the auto-timed setting in 60 minutes increments. To cancel the auto-timed program,
simply adjust the auto-on time to 0.0.

FAN Button
Press this button to select the fan speed as follows:
AUTO --> SILENT (1%-20%) --> LOW (21%-40%) --> MED (41%-60%) --> HIGH (61%-100%)
Press the TEMP Up ( ) or Down ( ) button to increase/decrease the fan speed in 1% increments.
NOTE: You can not switch the fan speed in AUTO or DRY mode
SWING Button
Press this button to activate/disable the horizontal louver auto SWING feature. The auto SWING feature will rotate
the louver up and down, blowing air into the room in a continuously moving up/down motion.
NOTE: Hold down for 2 seconds to activate the vertical louver auto swing feature.
ECO/GEAR Button
Press this button to enter the energy efficient mode in the following sequence:
ECO --> GEAR(75%) --> GEAR(50%) --> Previous setting mode --> ECO
—While in COOL mode, press this button and the system will automatically be set to 24 °C/75 °F on
Auto fan speed to save energy (only when the set temperature is less than 24 °C/75 °F).
—If the set temperature is above 24 °C/75 °F, the fan speed will change to Auto, the set temperature
will remain unchanged
—Pressing the ECO button, changing the mode or adjusting the set temperature to less than
24 °C/75 °F will stop ECO operation.
TURBO Button Press this button to Activate/Disable the TURBO function. TURBO function enables the unit to reach the preset
temperature at cooling or heating operation in the shortest time possible. The fan will run at a speed above HIGH.
LED Button Press this button to Activate/Disable the indoor unit screen display. Press this button to light the display or clear
the display.
HUMIDITY Button
While in DRY mode, press this button to adjust the humidity setting between 35% and 85%. The humidity setting
will change in 5% increments. After setting the room humidity, it will display on the screen.
NOTE: Humidity level may not be able to adjust in all configurations.

3.3 Basic Operation
3.3.1 Auto operation
Ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available. The OPERATION indicator on
the display panel of the indoor unit will be flashing.
1. Press the MODE button to select AUTO.
2. Press the UP/DOWN button to set the desired temperature. The
temperature can be set within a range of 62°F ~ 86°F in 1°F increments.
3. Press the Power/OK button to start the air conditioner.

1. In the Auto mode, the air conditioner can logically choose the mode
of Cooling, Fan, and Heating by sensing the difference between the
actual ambient room temperature and the setting temperature on the
remote controller.
2. In the Auto mode, you can not switch the fan speed. The fan speed
will be automatically controlled.
3. If the Auto mode is not comfortable , the desired mode can be
selected manually.
3.3.2 Cooling /Heating/Fan operation
Ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available. The OPERATION indicator on
the display panel of the indoor unit will be flashing.
1. Press the MODE button to select COOL, HEAT, or FAN mode.
2. Press the UP/DOWN buttons to set the desired temperature. In COOL or
HEAT mode, the temperature can be set within a range of 60°F~ 86°F in 1°F
increments.
3. Press the FAN button to select the fan speed in four steps- Auto, Low,
Med,or High.
4. Press the Power/OK button to start the air conditioner.

In the FAN mode, the setting temperature is not displayed on the remote
controller and you are not able to control the room temperature. In this
case, only step 1, 3 and 4 may be performed.

3.3.3 Dry Mode (For Dehumidification)
Ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available. The OPERATION indicator on
the display panel of the indoor unit will be flashing.
1. Press the MODE button to select DRY mode.
2. Press the UP/DOWN buttons to set the desired temperature. The
temperature can be set within a range of 60°F ~ 86°F in 1°F increments.
3. Press the Power/OK button to start the air conditioner.

In the DRY mode, you can not switch the fan speed. The fan
speed will be automatically controlled.
While in Dry Mode, the unit will not shut down when it reaches the set
temperature. The unit will will continue to run until it reaches 50 °F.
3.3.4 Timer operation
Press the TIMER ON/OFF button to set the amount of time before the unit
automatically turns on/off. Press the TIMER OFF button to set the auto-off time of
the unit.
To set the Auto-on time.
1. Press the TIMER button. The remote controller shows TIMER ON, and the
last Auto-on setting time will be shown on the LCD display area. Now it is
ready to reset the Auto-on time . This feature will turn the unit on after the
specified time.
2. Use the TEMP. UP and DOWN buttons to select the desired Auto-on time.
Each time you press the button, the time changes by half an hour between 0
and 10 hours and by one hour between 10 and 24 hours.
3. After setting the TIMER ON ,there will be a one second delay before the
remote controller transmits the signal to the air conditioner. Then, after
approximately another 2 seconds, the time will disappear and the set
temperature will re-appear on the LCD display window.
To set the Auto-off time.
4. Press the TIMER button. The remote controller shows TIMER OFF, and the
last Auto-off setting time will be shown on the LCD display area. Now it is
ready to reset the Auto-off time. This feature will turn the unit off after the
specified time.
5. Use the TEMP. UP and DOWN buttons to select the desired Auto-off time.
Each time you press the button, the time changes by half an hour between 0
and 10 hours and by one hour between 10 and 24 hours.
6. After setting the TIMER OFF ,there will be a one second delay before the
remote controller transmits the signal to the air conditioner. Then, after

NOTICE:
When you select the timer operation, the remote controller
automatically transmits the timer signal to the indoor unit for
the specified time. Therefore, keep the remote controller in
a location where it can transmit the signal to the indoor unit
properly.
The effective operation time set by the remote controller for
the timer function is limited to the following settings: 0.5,
1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5,
7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, 9.0, 9.5, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15,16,17,
18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24. These represent the number
of hours for which the unit will wait to turn on or off.
Examples of timer setting
TIMER ON (Auto-on Operation)
The TIMER ON feature is useful when you want the unit to turn on automatically
before you return home. The air conditioner will automatically start operating at the
set time.
Example:
To start the air conditioner in 2.5 hours.
1. Press the TIMER button, the last setting of starting operation time will show
on the display area.
2. Press the TEMP. UP button to display "2.5H " on the TIMER ON display of
the remote controller.
3. Wait for 3 seconds and the digital display area will show the temperature
again. The "TIMER ON" indicator remains on when this function is active.

TIMER OFF (Auto-off Operation)
The TIMER OFF feature is useful when you want the unit to turn off automatically
after you go to bed. The air conditioner will stop automatically at the set time.
Example:
To stop the air conditioner in 5 hours.
1. Press the TIMER button, the last setting of stopping operation time will
show on the display area.
2. Press the TEMP UP/DOWN button to display "5.0H " on the TIMER OFF
display of the remote controller.
3. Wait for 3 seconds and the digital display area will show the temperature
again. The "TIMER OFF" indicator remains on when this function is active.

If you set both TIMER ON and TIMER OFF, the timers will activate from
the time they were set.

3.4 Advanced Settings
3.4.1 SET

2. Use the TEMP UP/DOWN or the SET button to select the desired function

The SET functions are as follows:
BREEZE AWAY ( ): Redirects airflow to avoid blowing directly on a
person
ACTIVE CLEAN ( ): This function automatically cleans the heat
exchanger by freezing and thawing the surface.
SLEEP ( ): This feature reduces energy usage while you sleep.
SLEEP mode is not available in FAN, and DRY mode.
FOLLOW ME ( ): In this mode, the ambient temperature will be
measured from the remote controller instead of the indoor unit itself, and
adjust the system accordingly for maximum comfort.
3.4.2 Intelligent Eye
1. Press the Eco Intelligent Eye button and the system will enter a mode which
uses the indoor unit's built in infrared sensor to detect motion in the room.
After 30 minutes inactivity, the system automatically lowers the compressor
frequency saving energy. The system will resume normal function once
motion is sensed again.

Intelligent Eye is only available for Single Zone systems.
The Intelligent Eye feature may not be available for all systems.

3.4.3 SWING

1. Press the SWING button, and the horizontal louvers in the indoor unit will
oscillate up and down.

2. Press and hold the SWING button for more than 2 seconds and the vertical
louvers will oscillate horizontally.

3. Press the button again to stop the louvers in the current air flow direction.
Continue to press the SWING button until the desired airflow direction is
reached. There are 5 different directions available.

3.4.4 ECO/GEAR
1. Gear mode lowers the maximum frequency of the compressor, reducing
energy usage. Press the ECO/GEAR button to access Gear mode through
the following sequence:
ECO --> GEAR 75% --> GEAR 50% --> Previous System Mode
This function is only available under COOL mode.
GEAR feature may not be available on all systems.

ECO operation: Under cooling mode, press this button, the remote controller
will adjust the temperature automatically to 24 C/75 F, fan speed of Auto to
saveenergy (only when the set temperature is less than 24 C/75 F). If the set
temperature is above 24 C/75 F, press the ECO button, the fan speed will change to
Auto, the set temperature will remain unchanged.
Pressing the ECO button, modifying the mode or adjusting the set
temperature to less than 24 C/75 F will stop ECO operation.
GEAR operation: Press the ECO/GEAR button to enter the GEAR operation as
following: 75%(up to 75% electrial energy consumption) --> 50%(up to 50%
electrial energy consumption) -->Previous setting mode. Under GEAR operation,
the display on the remote controller will alternate between electical energy
consumption and set temperature.

3.4.5 SILENT
1. Hold the FAN button down for 2 seconds to activate/disable Silent mode.

Due to low frequency operation of compressor, it may result in
insufficient cooling and heating capacity. Press Power, Mode, Sleep,
Turbo or Clean button to cancel silence function.
3.4.6 FP (Freeze Protection)
This mode is used to prevent pipe damage in colder climates. It automatically sets
the fan speed to high and temperature to 46F/8C.
1. While in HEAT mode, set the system temperature to 60F/16C.
2. Quickly press the TEMP DOWN button twice.

3.4.7 LOCK
1. Press and hold the TURBO and HUMIDITY buttons together for 5 seconds to
lock/unlock the remote.

SLEEP Button
Press this button to Activate/Disable the SLEEP function.
—The SLEEP function can maintain the most comfortable temperature while saving energy. This
function is available in COOL, HEAT or AUTO modes only.
—For more information on the SLEEP function operation, please reference the unit's USER MANUAL.
NOTE: While the unit is running in SLEEP mode, it will be cancelled if the MODE, FAN SPEED or Power button is
pressed.
Temperature Control
UP Button( ): Push this button to increase the indoor temperature setting in 1°F increments , limited to 86°F.
DOWN Button( ): Push this button to decrease the indoor temperature setting in 1°F increments, limited to 62°F.
Press and hold the UP ( ) and DOWN ( ) buttons together for 3 seconds to alternate the temperature display
between the °C & °F scales.
NOTE: Temperature contol is not available in Fan mode.

4.3 Basic Operation

3. After setting the TIMER ON ,there will be a one second delay before the
remote controller transmits the signal to the air conditioner. Then, after
approximately another 2 seconds, the time will disappear and the set
temperature will re-appear on the LCD display window.
To set the Auto-off time.
1. Press the TIMER button. The remote controller shows TIMER OFF, and the
last Auto-off setting time will be shown on the LCD display area. Now it is
ready to reset the Auto-off time. This feature will turn the unit off after the
specified time.
2. Use the TEMP. UP and DOWN buttons to select the desired Auto-off time.
Each time you press the button, the time changes by half an hour between 0
and 10 hours and by one hour between 10 and 24 hours.

NOTICE:
When you select the timer operation, the remote controller
automatically transmits the timer signal to the indoor unit for
the specified time. Therefore, keep the remote controller in
a location where it can transmit the signal to the indoor unit
properly.
The effective operation time set by the remote controller for
the timer function is limited to the following settings: 0.5,
1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5,
7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, 9.0, 9.5, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15,16,17,
18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24. These represent the number
of hours for which the unit will wait to turn on or off.
Examples of timer setting
TIMER ON (Auto-on Operation)
The TIMER ON feature is useful when you want the unit to turn on automatically
before you return home. The air conditioner will automatically start operating at the
set time.
Example:
To start the air conditioner in 2.5 hours.
1. Press the TIMER button, the last setting of starting operation time will show
on the display area.
2. Press the TEMP. UP button to display "2.5H " on the TIMER ON display of
the remote controller.
3. Wait for 3 seconds and the digital display area will show the temperature
again. The "TIMER ON" indicator remains on when this function is active.

The TIMER OFF feature is useful when you want the unit to turn off automatically
after you go to bed. The air conditioner will stop automatically at the set time.
Example:
To stop the air conditioner in 5 hours.
1. Press the TIMER button, the last setting of stopping operation time will
show on the display area.
2. Press the TEMP UP/DOWN button to display "5.0H " on the TIMER OFF
display of the remote controller.
3. Wait for 3 seconds and the digital display area will show the temperature
again. The "TIMER OFF" indicator remains on when this function is active.

4.4 Advanced Settings
4.4.1 FOLLOW ME
1. Press the SET button.
2. Use the TEMP UP/DOWN or the SET button until the FOLLOW ME icon
appears.
3. Press the OK button to confirm.

In this mode, the ambient temperature will be measured from the remote controller
instead of the indoor unit itself, and adjust the system accordingly for maximum
comfort.
Press and hold the TURBO button for 7 seconds to activate the
FOLLOW ME memory feature.
4.4.2 TURBO
1. Press this button to activate TURBO mode, which puts the system in the
highest operation mode to reach the set temperature as quickly as possible.

1. Press this button to revert back to the system's previous setting including
operating mode, temperature and fan speed, as well as SLEEP if activated.
2. Press and hold the SHORTCUT button to restore the system settings before
activating the SHORTCUT feature.
