Lowered Floor from Rear Hatch:
This feature provides additional
headroom and reduces the slope
of the ramp when deployed. Com-
mercial grade ooring is featured
throughout the lowered oor area.
Ground Clearance: The lowered
oor results in reduced ground
clearance. Be aware of limited
ground clearance.
Rear Hatch: Manual rear hatch
provides 56" ADA vertical opening
(with interlock and entrance light-
ing).
Ramp: Two types of ADA-compli-
ant manually operated ramps are
available in the public use Toyota
rear entry. Both the bi-fold (Fold
Out) ramp and sliding (Simple
StowTM) ramp are addressed in this
manual. Fold Out ramp depicted.
Entrance/Ramp Lighting: ADA-
compliant entrance/ramp lighting
that functions in sync with the
OEM interior lights (activated by
doors, lift gate or dimmer control).
Floor Plan Option A: Full drop
lowered oor with (2) wheelchair
positions. Middle row aftermarket
bucket seats. A two-passenger
fold-a-way seat is available as a
rear seating option.
Floor Plan Option B: Full drop
lowered oor with wheelchair posi-
tion. Middle row three-passenger
aftermarket bench seat shown
with optional foot rest (*). A two-
passenger fold-a-way seat is avail-
able as a rear seating option.
Floor Plan Option C: Short drop
lowered oor with wheelchair posi-
tion. Remounted OEM middle row
three-passenger bench seat. A
two-passenger fold-a-way seat is
available as a rear seating option.
Forward-Facing Wheelchair
Tiedown and Occupant Re-
straint System: Floor pocket
(anchorage point) provided in the
lowered oor area can be utilized
for restraint of a wheelchair pas-
senger. See oor plans A, B and
C on pages 23-25 for Slide N’
Click pocket (anchorage point) lo-
cations and wheelchair positions.
One Forward-Facing Wheelchair
Tiedown and Occupant Restraint
Belt Kit is supplied for the tie
down of one wheelchair and re-
straint of an occupant. The belt/
tiedown kit is used in conjunction
with the oor pocket (anchorage
points). Additional restraint sys-
tems can be purchased (option).

Terminology
On Floor Stow: When not in
use, the simple stow (sliding)
ramp rests (stows) on the vehi-

(extended) to the fully deployed
position for wheelchair pas-
senger boarding and exiting.
The term deploy indicates the
extending (outward) motion
of the ramp to the deployed
position. Stow is the retracting
(inward) motion of the ramp to
the (stowed) position on the
vehicle oor.
Vertical Stow: The ramp is
folded (raised) to the vertical
stow position when a wheel-
chair passenger is being
transported.
Ramp Access Tailgate
The independent tailgate
must be manually opened and
closed by an attendant before
ramp operation (deployed and
stowed). Push the tailgate stow
latch release handle to right and
carefully lower the tailgate.
Simple Stow Ramp Operation

RAMP PASSENGER SAFETY
Wheelchair passengers and attendants (when ap-
plicable), must use basic common sense and good
judgment regarding ramp safety. Each wheelchair
passenger has a unique set of physical abilities,
combined with the physical characteristics of his or
her wheelchair that dictate the method in which he
or she will enter and exit the conversion. Conse-
quently, the procedures for safe operation outlined
in this manual are general in nature. Wheelchair at-
tendants should be instructed on any special needs
and/or procedures required for safe transport of
wheelchair passengers.
Follow all safety instructions regarding torso re-
straints, stability, balance, weight distribution and
use of attendants as specied in the owner’s manual
supplied with your wheelchair. Determine, establish
and practice ramp boarding and exiting procedures
under the direction of your health care professional,
your wheelchair representative, and your mobility
representative to ensure your ability to do so safely.
Never board the ramp if you or your attendant are
intoxicated. The wheelchair should be positioned
in the center of the ramp at all times. You must be
able to clearly view the ramp whenever boarding and
exiting the vehicle. The wheelchair passenger and/
or attendant must ensure the ramp is fully deployed
before exiting the vehicle.
It is the responsibility of the wheelchair operator to
enter and exit the vehicle on the ramp in the safest
manner.
Wheelchair-
Equipped Occupant
Seat Belts: Wheel-
chair passengers
should position and
buckle their wheel-
chair-equipped seat
belt (torso restraint),
as specied by the
manufacturer, before
loading onto a wheel-
chair ramp.
Position and fasten
the wheelchair-
equipped occupant
seat belt before
loading onto the
wheelchair ramp.
Failure to do so may
result in serious
bodily injury and/or
property damage.
