Detector switch - PIR
This device enables a light source to be controlled automatically by
detection of movement in the monitored area.
Movement detector and daylighting measurement with 180° detection angle.
Detection type: infrared (PIR)
Mounting type: wall
Number of terminals: 3
Type of terminals: screw
Terminal capacity: 2 x 2,5 mm2
Stripping length: 8 mm
Pressing the auxiliary control enables the load to be switched on or off manually. If the
control is not pressed, the detector will cut off the load at the end of the time delay or
when the light level threshold has been reached.

Positioning the detector
Installation
The detector must be
positioned in such a way
that it is not disturbed
by the artificial light that
is already present in the
room.
Parameters of detection:
Configuration
Time delay: Lenght of time the load is kept “on”after the last detection.
Sensitivity: Detection range setting.
Modes:
Auto on/Auto off mode:
Automatic switch-on:
- On detection of presence if the natural light level is insufficient.
Automatic switch-off:
- If no presence is detected and at the end of the time delay set.
- Or if the natural light level is sufficient (activated setting range).
Another detection causes automatic switch-on if there is insufficient light.
Walkthrough:
- If a presence is detected for less than 20”, the product will cut off the load after
3 minutes.
- Otherwise, the device will cut off the load at the end of the time delay set.
Manual on/Auto off mode:
Manual switch-on, automatic switch-off:
- When no presence is detected and at the end of the time delay set.
After a switching off, if the sensor detects a presence within 30 seconds it
automatically turns on again the light; after 30 seconds the light has to be
manually turned on.

Modification of the parameters by the configuration tools
• BMSO4001 : Advanced configuration tool
• BMSO4003 : Simplified configuration tool
When the detector receives an IR command via a configuration tool, it emits a beep
confirming that the modification has been taken into account.
Return to factory settings:
1st press: Short press on LEARN, the LED flashes slowly.
2nd press: Press and hold down LEARN for 10 seconds until the LED flashes quickly.
Detection system:
Initial detection: The load is switched on as soon as the first detection occurs if the
natural light level is below the light level threshold.
Maintain: The load remains active if another presence is detected.
Light level parameters:
Light level threshold:Value at which the load comes on if the light level is
below the setting and goes off if it is above this threshold.
Advanced mode:
Calibration:The surrounding light level measured with a luxmeter must then be
transmitted to the detector.
Retrigger: In manual mode. Function allowing automatic switch-on of the product
after a period of 30 seconds following the load being switched off.
After it has been switched off, another detection within a 30-second period triggers
automatic switch-on.
After more than 30 seconds the device must be switched on manually.
Alarm: An audible signal is emitted before the device is switched off (1 minute,
30 seconds and 10 seconds before switch-off).
Light regulation: Automatic switch-off of the load 10 minutes after the light
level threshold is exceeded combined with an additional safety threshold (to
avoid unintended switch-off).
Provision of light: Quantity of additional lux provided by the load being
switched on.
