Schutz vor elektrischem Schlag
Betreiben Sie nur Geräte deren Gehäuse und Leitungen unbeschädigt sind.
Achten Sie auf sichere Verlegung der Kabel. Ziehen Sie nicht an den Kabeln.
Achtung!
Den elektrischen Anschluss der Geräte über einen Fehlerstromschutzschalter
30 mA Nennfehlerstrom absichern und nur so betreiben. EVU-Vorschriften
beachten.
Gebrauch
Benutzen Sie keine elektrischen Geräte entgegen dem, vom Hersteller angege-
benen Verwendungszweck.
Zubehör
Benutzen Sie nur Zubehörteile und Zusatzgeräte die vom Hersteller geliefert
oder empfohlen werden. Der Einsatz anderer Zubehöre birgt Gefahren.

Verwendungszweck
Das Vorschaltgerät VS 50ph ist ein Stromversorgungsgerät für alle 12Volt
Verbraucher, also auch Phonogeräte und Geräte mit elektronischem Steuerteil
(z.B. Heizung, Boiler und Transistorleuchten...) aus dem 230Volt-Wechsel-
spannungsnetz.
Es besitzt eine Umschaltautomatik von Netz- auf Batteriebetrieb. Bei Netzbe-
trieb wird der angeschlossene Verbraucher über den eingebauten Transforma-
tor, nachgeschaltetem Gleichrichter und einer Siebkette mit 12Volt gesiebter
Gleichspannung (Gesamtausgangsleistung 50VA (Watt)) versorgt.
Wird die Netzversorgung unterbrochen, schaltet das Vorschaltgerät VS 50ph
automatisch auf Batteriebetrieb um. Die Versorgung der angeschlossenen
Verbraucher erfolgt nun über den 12Volt Eingang aus der angeschlossenen
Versorgungs- bzw. Autobatterie.
Bestimmungswidriger Gebrauch
Das Vorschaltgerät darf nicht zum Laden von Bleiakkumulatoren, Nickel-
Cadmium-Batterien oder nichtaufladbaren Batterien verwendet werden.
Beim Laden dieser Batteriearten mit dem Vorschaltgerät kann deren Hülle
explosionsartig aufplatzen.

Der Anschluss des Geräts an das Versorgungsnetzes muss in Übereinstim-
mung mit den jeweils geltenden nationalen Installationsvorschriften vorge-
nommen werden.
Die Montage und der Anschluss von elektrischen Geräten sollte grundsätz-
lich durch geeignetes Fachpersonal erfolgen!
Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Stromzufuhr getrennt ist! Netzstecker ziehen!
Benutzen Sie zum Anschluss des Gerätes nur die mitgelieferten Teile sowie
die vorgeschriebenen Leitungsquerschnitte und Sicherungen!
Benutzen Sie nur geeignetes und einwandfreies Werkzeug und schließen
Sie das Gerät nur gemäß des mitgelieferten Anschlussplanes an!
Aufstellen
Den im Umkarton befindlichen Beipack (Zubehör) entnehmen und auf Voll-
ständigkeit prüfen.

Das Gerät ist nur in trockenen Räumen aufzustellen. Es muss waagerecht
stehen und darf nicht hängend angebracht werden. Der Aufstellungsort muss
gut belüftet sein. Unzureichende Belüftung kann zur Überhitzung des Gerätes
führen.
Der für das Gerät bereitgestellte Raum darf folgende Abmessungen nicht
unterschreiten, da der Mindestabstand von rundum 100 mm gewährleistet sein
muss.

Anschluss

Bereiten Sie die Anschlusskabel für die Batterie und die Verbraucher gemäß
der Schritte 1 bis 3 vor. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Flachsteckhülsen fest auf
die Kabelenden gepresst werden und sicher sitzen.
1. Schritt
Entfernen Sie die Isolierung am Anschlusskabel auf einer Länge von 5 mm
2. Schritt
Schieben Sie die Flachsteckhülse bis zum Anschlag auf das Anschlusskabel, so
dass der abisolierte Teil in der vorderen Klemmung liegt.
3. Schritt
Befestigen Sie nun das Anschlusskabel an der Flachsteckhülse durch Zusam-
mendrücken beider Klemmungen mit einer passenden Crimpzange. Prüfen Sie
das Anschlusskabel auf festen Sitz in der Flachsteckhülse.

Schließen Sie die Verbraucher und dann die Batterie gemäß folgendem
Anschlussplan an.
Schließen Sie das Netzkabel an die Netzverteilung in Ihrem Wohnwagen,
Reisemobil oder Boot an.
Prüfen Sie alle Anschlüsse auf sicheren Sitz.
Stellen Sie als letztes die Netzverbindung über den Kaltgerätestecker des
Netzkabels her.
Inbetriebnahme
Das Netz-Vorschaltgerät VS 50ph ist in Betrieb, sobald einer der beiden
Eingänge versorgt wird und der Netzschalter auf der Rückseite des Gerätes bei
230Volt Versorgung eingeschaltet wird.

Wartungshinweise

Reinigen Sie das Gerät und die Lüftungsschlitze mit einem trockenen, fussel-
freien Tuch.
Das Gerät ist wartungsfrei. Sollten dennoch Unregelmäßigkeiten auftreten,
gehen Sie bitte nach folgendem Schema vor.
Maßnahmen bei Störungen

Prüfen Sie den Kaltgerätestecker auf festen Sitz. Drücken
Sie den Knopf des 230V Sicherungsautomaten hinein.
Achten Sie auf
ausreichende Belüftung des Gerätes.
Prüfen Sie, ob die Lüftungsschlitze am Gehäuse frei sind.
Bei Überlastung des Vorschaltgerätes im Netzbetrieb
kann das Gerät zu warm werden. Die entnommene
Leistung darf die maximale Ausgangsleistung von 50W
nicht überschreiten.
Der 12V Ausgang
wird im Batterie-
betrieb nicht
versorgt.
Prüfen Sie die 10A Vorsicherung an der Batterie. Prüfen
Sie die Flachstecker und Kabel am 12V Eingang auf
sicheren Sitz. Prüfen Sie den Ladezustand der Batterie.
Kurzschluss am
12V Ausgang
(Verbraucher).
Klemmen Sie die Leitung am 12V Ausgang ab und
beseitigen Sie den Kurzschluss. Prüfen Sie bei Batterie-
betrieb die 10A Vorsicherung an der Batterie. Bei Netz-
betrieb prüfen Sie den 230V Sicherungsautomaten des
Vorschaltgerätes.
Sie können keine
der hier beschrie-
benen Störungen
feststellen. Das
Gerät arbeitet
dennoch nicht.

Purpose
The VS 50ph mains supply unit is a power supply device for all 12V consum-
ers, therefore including audio equipment and devices with electronic control
(e.g. heating, boilers and transistor lights...) supplied by the 230V a.c. power
mains.
It incorporates a method of switching automatically from mains to battery
operation. When operating from the mains, the connected consumer is supplied
by means of the built-in transformer, connected rectifier and a filter chain with
12 V filtered direct voltage (total output power 50 VA (Watt)).
If the mains supply is interrupted, the VS 50ph mains supply unit switches
automatically to battery operation. Then the supply to the connected consumer
comes from the 12 V input from the connected supply battery or car battery.
Inappropriate use

The mains supply unit must not be used to charge lead batteries, nickel-
cadmium batteries or non-rechargeable batteries.
When charging these battery types with the mains supply unit, the outer cover
may rupture explosively.

Assembly

Connecting the device to the power supply must comply with the applica-
ble national installation regulations.
The assembly and connection of electric devices should always be carried
out by qualified personnel!
Always make sure that the power supply is disconnected! Pull out the
mains plug!
When connecting the device, use only the supplied parts and the specified
cable cross-sections and fuses!
Only use suitable and undamaged tools and only connect the unit accord-
ing to the supplied connection diagram!
Setting up
Remove the items packed separately (accessories) from the main carton, and
check them for completeness.

and must not be hung up. The location must be well ventilated. Insufficient
ventilation can cause overheating of the device.

The space provided for the device must not be smaller than the following
dimensions, since a minimum clear distance of 100 mm must be provided all
the way around it.

Prepare the connecting cable for the battery and the consumers according to
steps 1 to 3. Ensure that the flat sleeves are pressed firmly onto the cable ends,
and are securely attached.
1. Step
Remove a length of 5 mm of insulation from the connecting cable.
2. Step
Push the flat sleeve over the connecting cable to the stop, so that the bared part
sits in the front clamp.
3. Step
Now attach the connecting cable to the flat sleeve by pressing both clamps
together, using suitable crimping pliers. Check that the connecting cable is
firmly attached to the flat sleeve.

Connect the consumers and then the battery according to the following connec-
tion diagram.
Connect the mains cable to the power distribution in your mobile home,
caravan, or boat.
Check that all the connections are firm and secure.
Finally make the mains connection with the female device plug of the mains
cable.
Commissioning
Mains supply unit VS 50ph is operational as soon as one of the two inputs are
supplied and the power switch on the back of the unit is switched on when
operating in 230 V power supply.

Maintenance instructions

Clean the device and the ventilation slots with a dry, lint-free cloth.
The device is maintenance-free. However, if any faults do occur, please
proceed according to the following table:
Procedures in the event of faults

The 12 volt output
is not supplied
with power in
mains operation.
Check that the female device plug for firm connection.
Press in the button of the 230V circuit breaker.
Observe adequate ventilation of unit. Check that ventila-
tion slots on h
ousing are unobstructed. The overloading
of the mains supply unit when on mains operation can
overheat the unit. The power issued must not exceed the
maximum output power of 50 W.
The 12 V output is
not supplied with
power in battery
operation.
Check the 10A back-
up fuse of the battery. Check the flat
plug and the cable at the 12 V input to see that they are
seated properly. Check the charge state of the battery.
Short circuit on
12V output
(consumer).
Disconnect the cable at the 12 V output, and rectify
the
short circuit. Check the 10A back-
up fuse of the battery
in battery operation. When operating from the mains,
check the 230V circuit breaker of the mains supply unit.
None of the faults
described here
seems to apply.
But the device still
does not work.

Repairs

A faulty device can only be repaired by the manufacturer or by its service
personnel. Please note the relevant general safety regulations.
Warranty
The warranty is in force for a period of two years from date of purchase.
Defects arising from material or manufacturing faults will be rectified free of
charge, provided that:
The device is sent to the manufacturer postage paid.
Proof of purchase is enclosed.
The device has been handled and used according to its specified purpose.
No foreign spare parts were installed and the device has not been interfered
with.
Consequential costs and normal wear and tear are excluded.
Important
Claims made under warranty should be accompanied by a detailed description
of the fault. This facilitates and expedites the processing. Please bear in mind
that we cannot accept items sent without the correct postage having been paid.
