EachportonyourTS2-16canbemanagedeitherindividually,oralltogether.Youcanturnthe
portsoffandon,changetheportmode,orchangethechargingprofiles.Thiscanbedone
eitherthroughLiveViewer,orbyconnectingtothehubviatheAPI.

5.4.2Switchingportmodes
YoucanswitchbetweenportmodesbyusingourLiveViewerapplicationorbyusingtheCLI.If
youswitchaportoffthenthiswillstopanyconnectiontakingplacetotheUSBdeviceand
wouldmimicunpluggingtheUSBdevicecompletelyfromthehostsystem.
IfyouareinSyncmodeandthenswitchtoChargemodetheUSBdevicewilldisconnectbriefly
whilsttheprofilingprocesstakesplace.Oncetheprofilinghastakenplace,andacharging
profileisselected,thedevicewillthendrawachargerate,whichwillbedefinedbythe
chargingcontrollerwithintheUSBdevice.Thechargingprofilewilllimitthemaximumamount
thatthedeviceisabletodraw.
IfyouareinOfforChargemodeandswitchtoSyncmodetheUSBdevicewilldisconnectbriefly
whilstadataconnectionisopened,theUSBdevicewillthenbecomeavailabletothehostasif
theUSBdeviceisconnecteddirectlytothehost,andwillbeabletosyncdataatamaximum
rateof480Mbps.TheTS2-16willalsochargethedevicewhilstconnected.Itisimpossibleto
haveadataconnectiontoaUSBdevicewithoutanypowernegotiating,youcanreducethe
chargingratesavailablebydisablingCDP(Chargingdownstreamport).
YoucandisableCDPthroughNVRAMsettingseitherbygoingthroughthehubsettingsand
turning"Synccharge"offorthroughtheAPIanddisablingitviacode.Forexample,usingthe
commandline,theinstructionswouldbeasbelow.
