I. Introduction
This section contains the product overview, features, configurations, estimated
performance standards, and monthly print volume.
A. Overview
The Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7700 Series consists of the
imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7780i, imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX
C7770i, and imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7765i.
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7700 Series is a family of high-speed,
high-performance color digital imaging devices. The imageRUNNER
ADVANCE DX platform features enhancements focused on Workflow
Efficiency, Device & Fleet Management Efficiency, Security, Cost
Management, Sustainability, and Reliability.
The Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7700 Series is the successor to
the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 III Series devices.
These models bring the following capabilities to end-users in a high-volume
office environment, corporate CRD (Central Reprographic Departments) and
Print-for-Pay environments:
Note: For a detailed list of specifications and differences between the models,
please refer to the Specifications section in the Appendix.
•The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7780i is a Segment 5 device that
prints and copies Color and B&W (Black and White) (Letter sized sheets)
at speeds of up to 70-ppm (pages per minute) and 80-ppm respectively.
•The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7770i is a Segment 4 device that
prints and copies Color and B&W (Letter sized sheets) at speeds of up to
65-ppm and 70-ppm respectively.
•The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7765i is a Segment 4 device that
prints and copies Color and B&W (Letter sized sheets) at speeds of up to
60-ppm and 65-ppm respectively.
•Standard Single-Pass Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and
Color Image Reader with a scanning speed of Up to 270 ipm (Color) at 300
dpi and a capacity of up to 200-sheets (20 lb bond (80 g/m2)).
•A 250 GB hard disk drive (HDD) expandable to a 1 TB HDD, and 4 GB of
RAM (Random Access Memory).
•Standard paper sources include two (2) paper cassettes, two (2) paper
drawers and one multi-purpose tray that combined, can hold a up to 3,550
sheets of paper (20 lb bond (80 g/m2)). Optional paper input options
increase the paper capacity to up to 9,300 sheets (20 lb bond (80 g/m2)).
•Supports a maximum paper size of up to 13” x 19”.

•Standard USB 3.0 high-speed connectivity is available on the rear-right
side of the machine for connecting devices such as an external Hard Disk.
Standard USB 2.0 high-speed connectivity is available on the front-right
side of the machine for scanning to or printing from USB memory media.
•Standard Color Universal Send.
•Standard UFR II, PCL5, PCL6, Adobe PostScript 3, and
PDF/XPS/TIFF/JPEG Direct Printing.
•The main unit includes a motion sensor designed to reduce the perceived
waiting time for the device to recover from sleep mode. The device is able
to detect an approaching user, predict the user’s intent, and recover from
sleep mode accordingly. Likewise, the device can predict when the user is
finished using the device and returns to sleep mode. Three (3) sensitivity
settings are available and, the motion sensor can be turned off allowing the
device to transition to and from sleep mode like predecessor models.
•Standard wireless LAN Support for IEEE 802.11 b,g,n.

•The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7700 Series includes the UFP
(Unified Firmware Platform), which provides a common firmware base for
the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX devices and imageRUNNER
ADVANCE DX devices.
•All imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7700 Series machines are ENERGY
STAR Certified.

B. Features
1. Unified Firmware Platform
The UFP (Unified Firmware Platform) provides a common firmware base
for the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX devices and imageRUNNER
ADVANCE Third Generation devices. This makes it possible to unify
development, and reflect the same functions in all supported devices.
The UFP has been designed for advanced functionality, high-reliability, and
ease of operation. The UFP enables digital-business communications,
such as imaging technology, cloud connectivity, and mobile solutions to
work together.
UFP updates are performed on a regular basis, and include new
specifications and enhancements. Critical bug fix firmware updates are
released as needed.
The UFP offers the following features and benefits across all supported
devices in your fleet:
•Consistent firmware updates (Updates are released on a regular
basis)
•New features with new specifications
•Error fixes (Critical bug fix firmware updates are released as needed)
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7700 Series comes standard-
equipped with UFP V3.10, and can be updated to UFP V3.13.

Manual for details on all supported features.
2. imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX Series Platform improvements
UI (User Interface) improvements:
•The standard embedded 10.1” Color Wide Super VGA high-resolution
TFT screen with flick, pinch, and drag and drop operability1. The UI
provides familiar smartphone-like functionality with an operational soft-
key keypad added to the touchscreen UI. An optional Upright Control
Panel is available.
•With the introduction of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX models,
on-screen soft-key support is now standard. The Home screen is
comprised of Main Menu buttons and Timeline. The Home screen
consolidates the Quick Menu and Main Menu functions. The Timeline
displays the settings of the previous 10 jobs performed (copy, scan
and send, store, access to stored files, and fax).

D. Estimated Performance Standard
The EPS (Estimated Performance Standard) is an estimate of the maximum
print and scan volume the machine can achieve during its performance life.
The EPS is based on:
•Regular service by a Canon authorized service technician
•The use of recommended media
•The use of Genuine Canon service and consumable parts
The actual performance of the machine may vary, based on customer usage
factors, the physical environment in which the machine is installed, the types
of jobs performed, and the types of media used.
The following EPS values are for reference purposes only, and are based on
the use of LTR size paper.
