The CS 3800 Family comprises:

The CS 3800 Family is designed to acquire 3D still images in the following modes:
Lower jaw
Upper jaw

1Reusable tips There are three types of tips: Normal, facing downward; Side, facing
left; and Posterior, facing downward. Note: The posterior tip allows for
more comfortable scanning in hard-to-reach areas. The posterior tip is
designed for quadrant scanning only and should not be used to scan a
complete arch.
See the CS 3800 Family Safety, Regulatory, and Technical
Specifications User Guide for information on cleaning and sterilizing
the tips.

5Power connector Plugs into the contact on the battery.
6Battery The rechargeable battery can be charged in the handpiece in the
charging station, or the battery can be removed and charged in a
battery charging station (optional).
Always use the handpiece charging station with the handpiece.
DO NOT insert the bare battery in the handpiece charging
station.
The backup power cable can be used instead of the battery to
power the scanner. The backup power cable is plugged into the
output port of the handpiece charging station.
7WiFi Adapter Plugs into the USB 3.0 port on the computer running the CS
ScanFlow software to increase speed and signal strength.
8Dock for WiFi Adapter Use the dock as an extension cable when you cannot easily plug the
WiFi adapter into the USB 3.0 port due to space limitations.
The scanner is active, and the battery is full.
When the light is a steady orange, the battery
is half-full, and you have approximately 20
minutes of scanning left in the battery.
When the orange light is blinking, the
battery should be changed immediately, or
the scanner will turn off in 5 minutes.
Power is OFF or the scanner is
charging.

Important: Use the front protective cover when the CS 3800
Wireless is not in use.
Important: Use the posterior protective cover when the battery is
removed.

When you are not using the scanner, place it in the charging station either vertically or horizontally to
store it.

CS 3800 Wireless Handpiece Charging Station Overview
The handpiece charging station is designed to hold the scanner safely and charge it at the same time.
Place the scanner in the charging station when you are not using it.
The handpiece charging station has a 12V 2.5A input port and a 5V output port for the backup power
cable.
When the scanner is inserted in the charging station, the indicator light of the charging station:
Blinks in ORANGE when the battery is near empty.
Blinks in BLUE when the battery is half full.
Displays a CONSTANT BLUE when the battery is fully charged.
Displays a CONSTANT ORANGE when a charging error occurs.
The indicator on the scanner is turned off when the scanner is in the charging station.

Note: The scanner goes into inactive mode when inserted into the
charging station. To use it again, take it out of the charging station, and
press the power button for one second.
Note: The scanner powers off when left idle for 5 minutes when not
charging and on battery power.
Note: DO NOT charge the battery if the backup power cable is
connected to the charging station.
Note: When the scanner is idle for more than an hour when charging or
when using the backup power cable, it powers off.

CS 3800 Wireless Battery Charging Station (Optional) Overview
The CS 3800 Wireless battery charging station (optional) can charge up to two batteries at the same
time.
The indicator on the battery charging station:
Blinks in ORANGE when the battery is near empty.
Blinks in BLUE when the battery is half full.
Displays a CONSTANT BLUE when the battery is fully charged.
Important: DO NOT insert the bare battery in the handpiece
charging station.

5Rear cover Contains a USB Type-C port and a socket to which the lock is
secured.
6Detachable cable One end of the cable is plugged into the scanner and secured with the
lock, and the other end is plugged into a USB Type-C port on the
computer.
The scanner is active.
When you turn the scanner off, the indicator
blinks in orange before the system
shutdown.
Power is OFF.

Important: Use the front protective cover when the CS 3800 Wired is
not in use.

CS 3800 Wired Holder Overview
The holder can be used as a desktop or a wall mount holder. Place the scanner in the holder when you
are not using it.

Note: The scanner goes into inactive mode when inserted into the holder.
To use it again, take it out of the holder, and press the power button for
one second.
Note: The scanner goes into inactive mode when left idle for 5 seconds (if
set on a desk, for example). To use it again, pick it up, and press the power
button for one second.
Note: The CS ScanFlow interface displays a No Tip icon when the tip is
removed. To use the scanner again, put on the tip, and press the power
button for one second.
Note: When the scanner is idle for more than an hour, it powers off.

CS 3800 Wired Detachable Cable Storage
To avoid damaging the detachable cable of the scanner, you should loosely coil the cable and avoid
creating any sharp kinks, especially in the area where the cable connects to the scanner.

Do not wrap the cable around the handle of the scanner or create any sharp bends in the cable.

Note: To extend the life of the Type-C connector inside the scanner, it is
recommended that you do not unplug the detachable cable for storage
after each use.
