Be sure the electrical service is adequate for the model you have chosen. This information can be found on the serial plate,
which is located on the side of the cabinet.
Be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, proper grounding is important. The
power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards.
Your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not ad
equately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper recept-
acle.
Ensure the receptacle is accessible after the unit installation.
Do not run air conditioner with outside protective cover in place. This could result in mechanical damage within the air con-
ditioner.
For your safety
Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
Avoid fire hazard or electric shock. Do not use an extension cord or an adaptor plug. Do not remove any prong from the

Points for using air conditioner
NOTE: If the air conditioner is turned off, wait 3 minutes before restarting. This allows pressure inside the compressor equa-
lize. Failure to follow these instructions may be harmful to your unit.
Power supply voltage
If the power supplied to the unit is not within plus/minus 10% of the specified rating, the unit may not function and the fuse
may blow.
WARNING To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, read the Safety Precautions be-
fore operating this appliance.
The capacity of the room air conditioner must fit the room size for efficient and satisfactory operation.
Install the room air conditioner on the shady side of your room.
Do not block air flow inside with blinds, curtains or furniture; or outside with shrubs, enclosures, or other buildings.
Keep blinds and drapes in other windows closed during the sunniest part of the day.
Clean the air filter as recommended in the section Care and Cleaning .

Noise level
Noise from the air conditioner will be louder at night than in the daytime. This is because noise in the surroundings is com-
paratively low at night. If you feel that noise of the air conditioner is too loud, switch the thermostat to lower numbers.

Operation instructions
Before you begin, thoroughly familiarize yourself with the control panel and remote controller as shown below
and all its functions, then follow the instructions for the functions you desire. The unit can be controlled by the
unit control alone or with the remote controller.
ELECTRONIC CONTROL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
POWER keypad:
Press the POWER keypad to turn the unit on/off.
MODE keypad:
Press the "MODE" keypad to select the desired operat-
ing mode. For the Cooling & Heating models, the mode
selection will alternate between Auto, Heat, Cool,
Fan and Dry. For the Cooling only models, select the
operating mode from Cool, Fan, Dry and Auto.
The green indicator light beside the "MODE" option will
illuminate, identifying the mode selected.
When using the Dry and Auto mode, fan speed can
not be adjusted.
TEMPERATURE SETTINGS UP:
Press the keypad to increase the set (operating)
temperature of the unit. Each time the keypad is
pressed, the temperature increases as follows:

1 C (Celsius Scale) Maximum Setting 31 C.
TEMPERATURE SETTINGS DOWN:
Press the keypad to decrease the set (operating)
temperature of the unit. Each time the keypad is
pressed, the temperature decreases as follows:

FAN keypad:
Press this keypad to select the desired fan speed setting.
Each depression of the keypad will alternate through
Low, Med(if applicable), High fan speed options. The
green indicator light beside the Fan speed option will
illuminate, identifying the fan speed selected.

DRY operation:
In the Dry mode, the air conditioner will generally
operate in the form of a dehumidifier. Since the
conditioned space is a closed or sealed area, some
degree of cooling will continue.
COOL operation:
O
The temperature setting are adjustable between 16 C
O
to 31 C . Cooling begins automatically when the room
O
temperature is 1 C above the set point, and stops when
O
the room temperature is 1 C below the set point. The
fan will not stop running.
HEAT operaiton(For Cooling & Heating models only):
O
The temperature settings are adjustable between 16 C
O
to 31 C in heating mode. The default temperature sett-
O
ing is 24 C in heating mode and the fan speed is optional.
Notes:
1. When changing the temperature setting, the fan motor
operates at Low speed for 4 minutes first for compre-
ssor protection feature before heating begins.
2. When heating stops, there may be a slight delay of 30
seconds for the fan motor to stop.
O
3. If the condenser temperature is below 35 C, the fan
will run in Low speed despite the Fan setting. If the
O
condenser temperature is above 38 C, the fan will run
at the Fan setting.
4. If the compressor is shut down by a malfunction, the
fan will immediately shut down with the compressor.
Indicates frosting protection (Turn off the unit and
restart it to return to normal operation).
Failure Indicator Display:
Indicates a malfunction of the indoor room temper-
ature sensor
Indicates a malfunction of the evaporator tempera-
ture sensor
Indicates a malfunction of the outdoor condenser
temperature sensor
Note: When one of the above malfunctions occurs,
turn off the unit, and check for any obstructions.
Restart the unit, if the malfunction is still present,
turn off the unit and unplug the power cord.
Contact the manufacturer or its service agents
or a similar qualified person for service.
UNIT OPERATIONS
AUTO operation(if available):
The unit will select the appropriate operating mode from
Fan, Cool or Heat based upon the temperature
difference between the actual and desired room
O
temperature. If the actual room temperature is 2 C
above the set point, the unit operates in cooling mode.
O
When the actual room temperature is 1 C higher above
O
the set point but 2 C lower below the set point, the unit
will select the Fan mode. When the actual room
O
temperature is 2 C below the set point, the unit will
operate in Heat mode.
Note: If the SLEEP mode is activated when the unit is
operating in Auto mode, the fan motor will change
into Low speed mode immediately.
SLEEP:
Press and hold the "SWING" keypad for 2 seconds or
use the remote control to activate the "SLEEP" feature .
Press and hold the "SWING" keypad or use the remote
control again for 2 seconds to deactivate the "SLEEP"
feature. In the Cooling mode, the cooling temperature
O
set point will increase 1 C per hour after the "SLEEP"
mode is selected. Two hours later, the set point will
continue at this temperature and the fan motor will
remain on LOW speed. In the Heating mode, the heating
O
temperature set point will decrease 1 C per hour after the
"SLEEP" mode is selected. Two hours later, the set point
will continue at this temperature and the fan motor will
remain on LOW speed. Using the "SLEEP" mode will
reduce noise creating a comfortable sleeping environment.
Note: This feature is not available under DRY and FAN
ONLY operation.
SWING keypad:
Press the "SWING" keypad to activate the automatic air
swing (oscillation) feature. The vertical louvers will oscillate
back and forth (side to side) automatically, sweeping air
alternately for comfortable cooling/heating.
To stop the air swing feature, press the "SWING" keypad
again.
Press the "SWING" keypad for 2 seconds will activate
the SLEEP mode which can reduce noise creating a
comfortable sleeping environment. When the SLEEP
mode is activated, the green indicator light beside the
"Sleep mode " function will illuminate.
Ionizer Function (on some models)
Ionizer function is activated when the compressor
is in operation and is cancelled when the
compressor is out of the operation.The Ionizer can
generate abundant anions to fill the room with
refreshing and natural air.

ADJUST AIR FLOW DIRECTION
Horizontal air flow adjustment(on some models)
Press the SWING button on the remote
controller or control panel, the vertical louvers
will automatically swing right and left sweeping
the cold(hot) air alternately to obtain comfortable
cooling(heating). The vertical louvers may be
stopped at any position when press the SWING
button again.

Vertical air flow adjustment (manually)
To adjust vertical air flow direction, adjust any one of the
horizontal louver blades. When turning up or down the horizontal
louver blades, always keep the blades horizontality. This can
effectively prevent water drops condensed on the front panel of
the unit.
VENT CONTROL
The vent control is located above the control panel. The control
method is different on different models (see the figures on the left).
For maximum cooling efficiency, CLOSE the vent. This will allow
internal air circulation. OPEN the vent to discharge stale air.
To open the vent, pull the lever
toward you; To close it, push it in.
To open the vent, set the lever to the
right position; To close it, set the lever
in the left position.
CLOSE OPEN
NOTE: The VENTILATION LEVER should normally be kept in the
CLOSED position during cooling for maximum cooling effect. The
"OPEN" position is used only for ventilation.
Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new.
Be sure to unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent chock
or fire hazards.

Air Filter Cleaning
The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if
cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the filter can build up
and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils.
Hold the slot under the front panel, then uplift it onwards, and
remove the front panel.
Grasp the handle of the air filter, then slide it downwards to remove it.
Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water.
Rinse filter thoroughly.
Gently shake excess water from the filter. Be sure the filter is
thoroughly dry before replacing.
Or, instead of washing you may vacuum the filter clean.

Note: Never use hot water over 40 C(104 F) to clean th e ai r fil ter.
Never attempt to operate the unit without the air filter.

NOTE: Never use water over 50 C, alcohol, gasoline, acid, solvent
or brush to clean the front panel as this will damage the
surface of the part.
Winter Storage
If you plan to store the air conditioner during the winter, operating the
fan along for half a day to dry out the inside of the unit. Turn off power
and unplug the unit. Remove it carefully from the window according to
the installation instructions. Cover it with plastic or return it to the original
carton.
Never use harsh cleaners, wax or polish on the cabinet front.
Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around
the controls.
Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the
air conditioner.
Plug in air conditioner after cleaning.
Cabinet Cleaning
Be sure to unplug the air conditioner to prevent shock or fire hazard.
The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or
washed with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and
mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.

Select the best location
1. To avoid vibration and noise, make sure the unit is installed
securely and firmly.
2. Install the unit where the sunlight does not shine directly on
the unit. If the unit receives direct sunlight, build an awning
to shade the cabinet.
3. There should be no obstacle, such as a fence or wall, within
50cm from the back of the cabinet because it will prevent
heat radiation of the condenser.
Restriction of outside air will greatly reduce the cooling
and heating efficiency of the air conditioner.
4. Install the unit a little obliquely outward not to leak the
condensed water into the room (about 10mm or 1/4 bubble
with level).
5. Install the unit with its bottom portion 75~150cm above the
floor level.
6. The power cord must be connected to an independent cir-
cuit. The yellow/green wire must be grounded.
All side louvers of the cabinet must remain exposed to
the outside of the structure.

Step 1
Remove the air conditioner from its packaging, remove fixing screws
and slide the air conditioner out of its housing (Refer to Installation
Steps).
Step 2
Prepare the hole in the wall so that the bottom of the housing is well
supported, the top has minimum clearance and the air inlet louvers
have clearance as shown below in options A and B. Holes from the
outside through to the cavity should be sealed. The housing should
slope down towards the rear by about 10mm to allow water formed
during operation to drain.
Step 3
Install the housing into the wall and secure. Ensure the foam seals
are not damaged. Flash, seal or fill gaps around the inside and out-
side to provide satisfactory appearance and protection against the
weather, insects and rodents.

Installation of the unit into the Housing
1. Fit the drain pan to the housing and attach a drain tube to a
suitable location if required.
2. Slide the unit into the housing until it is firmly against the rear
of the housing. Care is required to ensure the foam sealing
strips on the housing remain in position.
3. Engage the chassis fixing brackets into the bottom housing
rail and secure to the base with the screw provided.
4. Install the front panel as per the Installation lnstruction.
5. Connect the air conditioner to the power and position excess
cord length beneath the air conditioner base.
6. Switch unit on. Check for operation of the unit and check for
vibration in the installation.

Installation Steps
Step 1. Remove the front panel and the air filter
1. Hold the slot under the front panel, then uplift it
outwards, and remove the front panel, the air filter is
attached on the back of the front panel (See Fig.1).
Step 2. Remove the frame.
1. Remove the two fixing screws from the frame (See Fig.2).
2. Grasp the left corner of the frame's underside, release the
coupler plugs, then loosen the frame (See Fig.3).

NOTE:For some models, the panel and frame are
packed with the unit without installation. In this
case, only step 3, 4 and 5 may be performed.
1. Remove the rubber plug from the bottom of the cabinet and
attach to the back drain hole. For the units without the
bottom rubber plug, just install the drain tray.
2. Take out the drain tray and screws (which provided with
your air conditioner accessory).
3. Install the drain tray at the bottom of the unit and secure with
screws provided.
4. Connect the drain hose to the outlet located at one side of the
drain tray. You can purchase the drain hose or tubing locally to
satisfy your particular needs (Drain hose is not supplied).
Suggestion: To ensure the condensed water drain off
smoothly, always keep the drain oulet of the the drain tray
downward when install the drain tray.

To meet different requirement of different type of air conditioner,
there are two kinds of methods for your choice to treat the
condensed water. You can choose back drainage or
bottom-drainage depending on accessories provided with your
air conditioner. See the following procedures to perform back
drainage:
1. Fit the seal onto the drain joint (which provided with your air
conditioner accessory).
2. Remove the rubber plug from the back drain hole of the unit
and attach to the bottom drain hole .For the units without the
back rubber plug, just install the drain joint.
3. Attach the drain joint to the back of the cabinet where you
O
remove the plug and rotate 90 to securely assemble them.
4. Connect the drain joint with a extension drain hose (Locally
purchased)
See the following procedures to perform bottom drainage:

Step 3. Installation
1. For <12000Btu/h models, first remove two
screws on the chassis fixing brackets, then
remove the chassis fixing brackets(Fig.4) ;
For >12000Btu/h models, remove the four
screws located on both sides and the back
of the cabinet, then remove the chassis
fixing bracket as shown in Fig.4.
2. Grasp the handle on the chassis and carefu-
lly slide the air conditioner out of the cabinet
(See Fig.5).
3. If you hope the condensed water be drained
outside, install the drain tray at the bottom of
the cabinet(See Fig.6).
4. Push the unit chassis into the cabinet (See
Fig.7).
5. Install the chassis and cabinet, ensure the
chassis fixing brackets and screws are
securely installed to prevent the air conditioner
from sliding out of the cabinet (See Fig.4).
Step 4. Install the frame.
1. Install the frame and connect the coupler
plugs, making sure not to interfere with the
temperature sensor cable (See Fig.8).
2. Fix the screws on the frame (See Fig.2).
Step 5. Install the air filter and front panel.
1. Make sure the air filter is properly installed
on the back of the front panel before reinstall
the front panel.
2. Hang the front panel on the frame's buckle,
then press the front panel into the frame's
slot until you hear a click (See Fig.9).

The air conditioner is
unplugged.
Make sure the air conditioner plug is pushed completely into
the outlet and switched on.
You may hear a pinging noise caused by water being picked up and thrown against the condenser on rainy days or
when the humidity is high. This design feature helps remove moisture and improve efficiency.
You may hear the thermostat click when the compressor cycles on and off.
Water will collect in the base pan during high humidity or on rainy days .The water may overflow and drip from the
outdoor side of the unit.
The fan may continue to operate when the compressor has cycled off.
The fuse is blown/circuit
breaker is tripped.
Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace the
fuse or reset the breaker.
Power failure.
If power failure occurs, switch off and disconnect /unplug the
power cord. When power is restored, reconnect (plug in) the
power cord, switch on the power and wait 3 minutes to rest-
art the air conditioner to prevent tripping of the compressor
overload.
Airflow is restricted .
Make sure there are no curtains, blinds, or furniture blocking
the front of the air conditioner.
Clean the filter at least every 2 weeks.See the operating in-
structions section.
When the air conditioner is first turned on you need to allow
time for the room to cool down.
Check for open furnace floor registers and cold air returns.
Set the air conditioner's vent to the closed position.

The air filter is dirty.
The room may have been
hot.
Cold air is escaping.
Cooling coils have iced up.
Ice blocks the air flow and
stops the air conditioner
from cooling the room.
Set the fan at MED or HIGH until the ice melts.
Air conditioner
