Installation Instructions
Part Numbers: CRHEATER144A00 through CRHEATER155A00
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
Read these instructions entirely before installing the acces-
sory electric heaters on the base rooftop unit. See Table 1 for
accessory heater data.
Installation and servicing of air-conditioning equipment can
be hazardous due to system pressure and electrical compo-
nents. Only trained and qualified service personnel should
install, repair, or service air-conditioning equipment.
Untrained personnel can perform the basic maintenance
functions of replacing filters. All other operations should be
performed by trained service personnel. When working on air-
conditioning equipment, observe precautions in the literature,
tags and labels attached to the unit, and other safety precautions
that may apply.
Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work
gloves. Use quenching cloth for unbrazing operations. Have
fire extinguishers available for all brazing operations.
GENERAL
This installation instruction covers accessory heaters
CRHEATER144A00 through CRHEATER155A00. Each kit
contains the heater module, block-off plate, 1 or 2 conduit assem-
blies, wire ties, and the wiring label. The CRHEATER153A00
accessory kit contains a terminal block in addition to these parts.
See Table 1 for unit electrical data and kit usage.
NOTE: All units with electric heat require a field-supplied
90-degree elbow. The elbow must be installed in the supply
ductwork below the unit discharge connection.
NOTE: CRHEATER153A00 (75 kW, 240 volt) requires a
dual-point power supply.
Table 1 — Electrical Data and Electric Heater Package Usage
*kW rated at 240, 480, and 600 volts.
Before beginning any modification, make sure all power is
disconnected to the unit and locked out. Failure to discon-
nect power supply prior to servicing may result in serious
injury. All wiring must comply with applicable national
and local codes.
Field modification of electric heat staging may result in the
overriding of electric heat safety switches and is prohibited.
Damage to equipment and personal injury may result.
When removing panels from the unit, be careful not to
damage the roof or other surfaces with the panels.
