movingparts.
Anyfunctionaldisorders,especiallythoseaffectingthe
safetyofthemachine,shouldthereforeberectiedim-
mediately.

Topreventanyriskofexplosion,observethefollowing
instructions:
•Whendisconnectingthebatterycables,alwaysdiscon-
nectthenegative(-)cablerst.
•T oreconnectthebatterycables,alwaysconnectthe
negative(-)cablelast.
•Nevershort-circuitthebatteryclampswithmetalob-
jects.
•Donotweld,grindorsmokenearabattery.
Theengineexhaustmayproducesparks.
Beforeusingthemachineinanareawhichmaycontain
inammablevapours,ensurethatthereisgoodventila-
tion.
Alwayskeepareextinguisheravailableonthemachine.
Makesurethatitisproperlymaintainedinconformitywith
themanufacturer’sinstructions.

Thebatterycontainssulphuricacid.
Avoidanycontactwiththeskin,eyesorclothing.
Antidote:
•EXTERNAL:Rinsewellwithwater,removinganysoiled
clothing.
•INTERNAL:Avoidvomiting.Drinkwatertorinseyour
mouth.Consultadoctor.
•EYES:Rinsethoroughlywithwaterfor15minandget
promptmedicalattention.
Whentheelectrolyteofabatteryisfrozen,itcanexplode
ifyouattempttochargethebatteryorifyoutrytostartthe
engineusingaboosterbattery.
Alwayskeepthebatterychargedtopreventtheelectrolyte
freezing.

Keepallames,sparksandcigarettesaway.
Providegoodventilationwhenchangingabatteryorusing
abatteryinanenclosedspace.

EachcountryhasitsownRegulationsonthissubject.It
isthereforeadvisabletopreparesuitablecontainersto
collectandstoremomentarilyallsolidanduidmaterials
thatmustnotbescatteredintheenvironmenttoavoid
pollution.
Atpresetintervalstheseproductswillbedeliveredtodis-
posalstationslegallyrecognizedandpresentinthisCoun-
try.
Herebelowisalistoftheproductsinthemachinewhich
requiredisposal:
•Hydraulicoil
•Brakesystemoil
•Coolantmixture,condensationresidueandpureanti-
freeze
•Dieseloil
•Oilanddieseloillterelements
•Engineandair-conditioningairlterelements
•Battery
Alsopollutingrags,paper,sawdustandglovesmustbe
disposedincompliancewiththesameprocedures.
Donotusefoodorbeveragecontainersthatmaymislead
someoneintodrinkingfromthem.
Donotpourwasteontotheground,downadrain,orinto
anywatersource.
Air-conditioningcoolantescapingintotheaircandamage
theEarth’satmosphere.
Governmentregulationsmayrequireacertiedair-condi-
tioningservicecentretorecoverandrecycleusedair-con-
ditioningcoolant.
Obtaininformationontheproperwaytorecycleordispose
ofwastefromyourlocalenvironmentalorrecyclingcentre,
orfromyourDealer.

1.Makesuretoarrestallfuelleaks.Anyfueloroilspilledonhotsurfaceorelectricalcomponentsmaycausere
accidents.Makesurethatthemachineissealedfromleakage.
2.Donotallowstraw,trash,birdnestsorammablematerialinthemachineandremovethesameastheycanignite
reonhotsurfaces.
3.Makesurethereextinguisherinstalledonornearthemachine.Ifalreadyequipped,thereextinguisheris
maintainedandservicedaccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstructions.
4.Checkandmakesuretocleanallthetrashfromthemachineespeciallyaroundhotcomponentssuchasthe
engine,transmission,exhaust,battery,etc.Dothesechecksandcleanthemachineatleastonceaday,probablyat
theendoftheday.Morefrequentchecksandcleaningofmachinemaybenecessarydependingontheoperating
environmentandconditions.
5.Inspecttheelectricalsystemforlooseconnectionsandfrayedinsulation.Repairorreplacethelooseordamaged
parts.
6.Checkandremovethedebrisaccumulationaroundmovingcomponentssuchasbearings,pulleys,belts,gears,
cleaningfans,etc.Morefrequentcleaningofthemachinemaybenecessarydependingontheoperatingenvironment
andconditions.
7.Checkallfuses,relay,andMCB’sforcorrectratingsandvalidity.Replacethedefectiveornon-complaintparts.Do
nottobypass/override/tamperanysafetysystemsofthemachine.
8.Checkandremoveanyoilyragsorotherammablematerialonthemachine.Donottostoresuchmaterialaround
oronthemachine.
9.Makesurethatdonotweldoramecutanyitemsthatcontainammablematerial.Cleantheitemsthoroughly
withnon-ammablesolventsbeforeweldingorame-cutting.
10.Immediatelyinvestigateanyunusualsmellsorodorsthatmayemergeduringoperationofthemachine.Always
awareofsuchobservationsandactionsthereof.
11.MakesurethatthemachineisservicedonlybyauthorizedCASECONSTRUCTIONdealerserviceteamandnot
byanyexternalparties.
12.Checkandremoveanynon-recommendeddevicesthatarettedonthemachine.Donottouseanydevicesthat
arenotastandardtmentbythecompany.
13.Thepersonnelmakesurethattheydonotsmokeorusemobileswhilerefuelling.Itisnotadvisabletopark
themachinenearaplacewhichposesrehazard(Workshopswherewelding,grinding,gascuttingetcisunderway,
bonresetc).
NOTICE:Anydamagetothemachineduetonon-adherenceoftheaboveguidelinesandinstructionsmayleadthe
warrantyvoidforthemachine.

Soil,air,andwaterqualityisimportantforallindustriesandlifeingeneral.Whenlegislationdoesnotyetrulethe
treatmentofsomeofthesubstancesthatadvancedtechnologyrequires,soundjudgmentshouldgoverntheuseand
disposalofproductsofachemicalandpetrochemicalnature.
Familiarizeyourselfwiththerelativelegislationapplicabletoyourcountry,andmakesurethatyouunderstandthis
legislation.Wherenolegislationexists,obtaininformationfromsuppliersofoils,lters,batteries,fuels,anti-freeze,
cleaningagents,etc.,withregardtotheeffectofthesesubstancesonmanandnatureandhowtosafelystore,use,
anddisposeofthesesubstances.
Helpfulhints
•Avoidtheuseofcansorotherinappropriatepressurizedfueldeliverysystemstolltanks.Suchdeliverysystems
maycauseconsiderablespillage.
•Ingeneral,avoidskincontactwithallfuels,oils,acids,solvents,etc.Mostoftheseproductscontainsubstances
thatmaybeharmfultoyourhealth.
•Modernoilscontainadditives.Donotburncontaminatedfuelsandorwasteoilsinordinaryheatingsystems.
•Avoidspillagewhenyoudrainuidssuchasusedenginecoolantmixtures,engineoil,hydraulicuid,brakeuid,
etc.Donotmixdrainedbrakeuidsorfuelswithlubricants.Storealldraineduidssafelyuntilyoucandisposeof
theuidsinaproperwaythatcomplieswithalllocallegislationandavailableresources.
•Donotallowcoolantmixturestogetintothesoil.Collectanddisposeofcoolantmixturesproperly.
•Theair-conditioningsystemcontainsgasesthatshouldnotbereleasedintotheatmosphere.Consultanair-condi-
tioningspecialistoruseaspecialextractortorechargethesystemproperly.
•Repairanyleaksordefectsintheenginecoolingsystemorhydraulicsystemimmediately.
•Donotincreasethepressureinapressurizedcircuitasthismayleadtoacomponentfailure.
•Protecthosesduringwelding.Penetratingweldsplattermayburnaholeorweakenhoses,allowingthelossofoils,
coolant,etc.
Batteryrecycling
Batteriesandelectricaccumulatorscontainseveralsub-
stancesthatcanhaveaharmfuleffectontheenviron-
mentifthebatteriesarenotproperlyrecycledafteruse.
Improperdisposalofbatteriescancontaminatethesoil,
groundwater,andwaterways.CASECONSTRUCTION
stronglyrecommendsthatyoureturnallusedbatteriesto
aCASECONSTRUCTIONdealer,whowilldisposeofthe
usedbatteriesorrecycletheusedbatteriesproperly.In
somecountries,thisisalegalrequirement.

Mandatorybatteryrecycling
NOTE:ThefollowingrequirementsaremandatoryinBrazil.
Batteriesaremadeofleadplatesandasulfuricacidsolution.Becausebatteriescontainheavymetalssuchaslead,
CONAMAResolution401/2008requiresyoutoreturnallusedbatteriestothebatterydealerwhenyoureplaceany
batteries.Donotdisposeofbatteriesinyourhouseholdgarbage.

•Acceptthereturnofyourusedbatteries
•Storethereturnedbatteriesinasuitablelocation
•Sendthereturnedbatteriestothebatterymanufacturerforrecycling

LubricatetheO-ringsealsbeforeyouinsertthemintheseats.ThiswillpreventtheO-ringsealsfromoverturningand
twisting,whichwouldjeopardizesealingefciency.
Sealingcompounds
Applyasealingcompoundonthematingsurfaceswhenspeciedbytheprocedure.Beforeyouapplythesealing
compound,preparethesurfacesasdirectedbytheproductcontainer.
Spareparts
OnlyuseCNHOriginalParts.
Onlygenuinesparepartsguaranteethesamequality,duration,andsafetyasoriginalparts,astheyarethesame
partsthatareassembledduringstandardproduction.OnlyCNHOriginalPartscanofferthisguarantee.
Whenorderingspareparts,alwaysprovidethefollowinginformation:
•Machinemodel(commercialname)andProductIdenticationNumber(PIN)
•Partnumberoftheorderedpart,whichcanbefoundinthepartscatalog

Toavoiddamagetotheelectronicand/orelectricalsystems,alwaysobservethefollowingpractices:
1.Nevermakeorbreakanyofthechargingcircuitconnectionswhentheengineisrunning,includingthebattery
connections.
2.Nevershortanyofthechargingcomponentstoground.
3.Alwaysdisconnectthegroundcablefromthebatterybeforearcweldingonthemachineoronanymachine
attachment.
•Positiontheweldergroundclampasclosetotheweldingareaaspossible.
•Ifyouweldincloseproximitytoacomputermodule,thenyoushouldremovethemodulefromthemachine.
•Neverallowweldingcablestolieon,near,oracrossanyelectricalwiringorelectroniccomponentwhileyou
weld.
4.Alwaysdisconnectthenegativecablefromthebatterywhenchargingthebatteryinthemachinewithabattery
charger.
NOTICE:Ifyoumustweldontheunit,youmustdisconnectthebatterygroundcablefromthemachinebattery.
Theelectronicmonitoringsystemandchargingsystemwillbedamagedifthisisnotdone.
5.Removethebatterygroundcable.Reconnectthecablewhenyoucompletewelding.
WARNING
Batteryacidcausesburns.Batteriescontainsulfuricacid.
Avoidcontactwithskin,eyesorclothing.Antidote(external):Flushwithwater.Antidote(eyes):ush
withwaterfor15minutesandseekmedicalattentionimmediately.Antidote(internal):Drinklarge
quantitiesofwaterormilk.Donotinducevomiting.Seekmedicalattentionimmediately.
