Technical information
B
SparaMosca is an agricultural sprayer specially designed to spray
micro-doses of new bio-agricultural drugs based on Spinosad, against
the olive fruit fly and fruit fly (cherry, persimmon, citrons).
It is fitted with a timed system to semi-automatically dispense single
sprays, all having the same dose, with a minimum of 3ml and a
maximum of 50ml each.
The calibration (dosing of the spray) is performed simply and quickly
by operating on the selector for seconds, checking whether the
dispensed quantity is as desired by means of the supplied graded
measuring cup. Press the button on the lance to spray always the
same pre-set dosing.
Several thousands of sprays can be performed before needing to
recharge, according to the duration of the battery (approx. 4 hours).
The pump can also be used for traditional treatments.
SparaMosca is a piece of equipment suitable for general herbicide
and spraying treatments in agriculture and gardening.
Other possible treatments are: fungicide, insecticide, acaricide,
foliage fertilisation, disinfestation.
Powder products that are soluble in water can be used.
Operation and maintenance of the equipment are very easy.
However, due to the nature of the active ingredients being used,
always follow all precautions to prevent any risk for the operator
and/or nearby persons.

Technical information B
There is a small residual risk due to the ergonomics, therefore
we recommend not to fully fill the tank with liquid: the maximum
recommended weight for the electric pump with loaded tank is 15 kg
(weight when empty: 6.2 kg).
Even when the tank is full, SparaMosca weighs less than 25 kg,
therefore there are no particular precautions for transport, except
following the current safety regulations.
In any case, we recommend always paying utmost care during
handling.
There are residual crushing risks due to the lifting operation, we
recommend wearing suitable shoes.
Position SparaMosca on your shoulders as a backpack by means of
the relevant straps.
Pay attention not to impact the lance during movement, some parts
may be damaged.

Operation
SparaMosca operation
• Traditional use:
Add the extension (supplied) to the lance.
Position the timed/off/continuous switch
to the "Continuous" position.
Press the button on the lance grip to dispense the liquid and keep it
pressed for the desired time.
The liquid continues to come out continuously.
• Timed use

accuracy.
Adjust the liquid spraying timing to set the millilitres of product to
be dispensed.
Press the button on the lance grip to dispense the liquid.
Any time the button is pressed, the same quantity of liquid is
dispensed, regardless of the time it is pressed for.

SparaMosca
If the switch remains on the other two positions, the battery will
discharge quickly.
1SOLENOID VALVE
Specification:

Operating instructions
C
Installation and connections
During installation, always take into consideration
the technical information in chapter B
• Stand SparaMosca vertically, with the battery charger facing
you
• Open the cover of the battery compartment
• Stand the battery in front of the open compartment, with the
pole tabs on the left
• Connect the terminals, observing their polarity
(Red wire + with red tab; black wire – with black tab)
• Insert the battery while keeping the terminals on the left and
towards the inside
• Close the cover.
Since the compartment is very tight, press slightly forcefully, in
particular on the left, and click the cover fittings upwards.

22 23
Maintenance
Washing
Firstly, recover any residues of pesticides into a suitable container.
Only use clean and clear water to clean the tank and the entire circuit.
Rinse thoroughly, flushing clean water while the pump is operating,
recovering the liquid as per current regulations.
Check the nozzle clogging and wear conditions.
Battery
Recharge the accumulator after each use of the machine,
in order to maintain its efficiency over time.
In the event of long periods of inactivity of the machine, remove the
battery and store it in a fresh and dry place.
Recharge the battery approximately every three months.
Starting
• Remove the cover
• Pour the mixture into the tank
Fill the tank only after filtering the fluid,
in order not to damage the pump.
Always use clean water without impurities to prepare the liquid to
be sprayed.
• Set the pump operating mode (continuous - timed) by means of
the switch on the side
• If the timing setting is selected, select the desired timing according
to the product millilitres to be dispensed for each spray (check
with the supplied measuring cup)
• SparaMosca is ready to be used
• Spray the chemical product keeping the nozzle at a suitable
distance from the surface being treated.
NOTE: Mix the pesticide separately in a suitable container, then pour
the solution into the tank.
Remember that, on average, approx. 200 ml of product remain
within the pipes at the end of treatment.
Operating instructions C
Cleaning the solenoid valve
See the solenoid valve specification and components on page 17.
Since the solenoid valve may become clogged, remove and clean
it thoroughly any time it is necessary. To do so: remove the fitted
solenoid (1), unscrew the bulb (2) by 90° until it clicks, using a pair of
pliers, then thoroughly clean the inside of the solenoid valve. Finally
reassemble all components carefully.

24 25
Operating faults
• When the lance switch is actuated, the pump does not operate:
1. Check that the side switch is not set to "Off"
2. Check the battery connections
3. If the issue continues, do not persist, remove the battery and have
its charge checked by an authorised support centre.
4. If the battery is charged and the issue continues, contact Casotti or the reference
dealer
• The motor runs smoothly but no liquid is dispensed from the tank:
1. Check that the pump suction filter and the nozzle filter are clean.
2. Check that the solenoid valve on the lance is operating
• The side switch is set to “timed” but no liquid is sprayed when the
lance switch is pressed
1. Check that the solenoid valve on the lance is operating
2. Move the switch to "continuous" to bypass the timer.
If SparaMosca operates normally, the timer or the switch may be damaged.
In this case, contact Casotti or the reference dealer.
If there are other faults, contact Casotti or the reference dealer.
