Claims
Carefully unpack the product immediately and check the box to make sure all the parts
are in the package and are in good condition.
If the box or the contents (the product and included accessories) appear damaged from
shipping or show signs of mishandling, notify the carrier immediately, not CHAUVET®.
Failure
to report damage to the carrier immediately may invalidate your claim. In
addition, keep the box and contents for inspection.
For other issues, such as missing components or parts, damage not related to shipping,

Safety Notes
Please read the following Safety Notes carefully before starting to work with the product.
These notes provide important safety information about the installation, usage, and
maintenance.
DO NOT change lamp while product is plugged into power! Serious personal
injury can occur. See Lamp Replacement
in the Setup section for the proper
procedure to change the lamp.
This product contains no user-serviceable parts. Any reference to servicing in this
User Manual will only apply to properly trained CHAUVET® certified technicians.
Do not open the housing or attempt any repairs.
Please refer to all applicable local codes and regulations for the proper installation
of the product.
Personal Safety
•Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while the product is on.
•Always disconnect this product from its power source before servicing.
•Always connect this product to a grounded circuit to avoid the risk of electrocution.
•Do not touch this product’s housing during operation because it may be very hot.
Mounting and Rigging
•This product is for indoor use only! To prevent risk of fire or shock, do not expose this
product to rain or moisture.
•Make sure there are no flammable materials close to this product while it is operating.
•When hanging this product, always secure to a fastening device using a safety cable.
Power and Wiring
•Always make sure you are connecting this product to the proper voltage in
accordance with the specifications in this manual or on the product’s specification
label.
•Never connect this product to a dimmer pack or rheostat.
•Never disconnect this product by pulling or tugging on the power cable.
Operation
•Do not operate this product if you see damage on the housing, lenses, or cables.
Have the damaged parts replaced by an authorized technician at once.
•Do not cover the ventilation slots when operating to avoid internal overheating.
•The maximum ambient temperature is 104° F (40° C). Do not operate this product at
a higher temperature.
•In case of a serious operating problem, stop using this product immediately!
•CAUTION: Flashing light is known to trigger epileptic seizures. User must comply
with local laws regarding notification of strobe use.

Product
Description
The Xeno™ 2500 is an ultra-high frequency strobe luminaire powered by a 2,500-watt Xenon
lamp. When multiple products are linked, built-
in automated programs trigger several
pre-programmed shows via master/slave. The product is controlled by sound-activation or
DMX through 3- and 5-pin connectors.

AC Power
Each Xeno™ 2500 has an auto-ranging power supply that works with an input voltage
range of 208~230 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
To determine the power requirements for each
Xeno™ 2500, refer to the label affixed to the product. You can also refer to the
Technical
Specifications chart in this manual.
The listed current rating indicates the maximum current draw during normal operation.
For more information, download Sizing Circuit Breakers from the CHAUVET® website
:
www.chauvetpro.com.
Always connect this product to a protected circuit with an appropriate electrical
ground to avoid the risk of electrocution or fire.
Never connect this product to a rheostat (variable resistor) or dimmer circuit, even
if the rheostat or dimmer channel serves only as a 0 to 100% switch.
AC Plug
The Xeno™ 2500 comes with a power input cord terminated on one end with a Neutrik®
powerCON® A connector that connects to the product. The other is bare-ended. U

table below to wire the new plug.

Resetting the Breaker
This product is equipped with a resettable 20A circuit breaker on the power input circuit.
If the breaker trips, all sections of this product will lose power. Refer to the following
instructions for resetting the breaker.
1. Remove the power cord from mains power.
2. Allow product to cool for 15 minutes.
3. After 15 minutes, you may attempt to reset the breaker by pressing the button with
your index finger.
4. Plug the product’s power cord into the power outlet and continue using as
recommended.
Disconnect this product from the power outlet before resetting the breaker.
If the breaker does not reset (the breaker button
will not remain inserted), contact
CHAUVET® immediately. This indicates a possible internal malfunction.

DMX Linking
You can link the Xeno™ 2500 to a DMX controller using a standard DMX serial
connection. If using other DMX compatible products with the Xeno™ 2500
, you can
control each individually with a single DMX controller.
DMX Modes
The Xeno™ 2500 uses the standard DMX data connection for the 3- and 4-channel DMX
modes.
•Refer to Introduction for a brief description of these modes.
•Refer to Operation to learn how to configure the Xeno™ 2500 to work in these
modes.
•The DMX Values section provides detailed information about DMX modes.
Master/Slave
Connectivity
The Master/Slave mode allows a Xeno™ 2500 (the “master product”) to control one or
more Xeno™ 2500s (the “slave products”) without a DMX controller. One Xeno™ 2500
becomes the master product when running a Standalone Flash
program, or by being in
Sound-Active mode.
You must configure each slave product’s control pa
nel to operate in SLAVE mode.
During Master/Slave operation, the slave products will operate in unison with the master
product.
The Operation chapter of this manual provides detailed instructions on how to
configure the Master and Slave products.
If you are not familiar with or need more information about DMX standards,
Master/Slave connectivity, or the DMX cables needed to link this product to a DMX
controller, download the DMX Primer from the CHAUVET® website:
www.chauvetpro.com.
Lamp Replacement
The Xeno™ 2500 is equipped with a 2,500-watt Xenon lamp. Replacement lamps may
be ordered from CHAUVET®. Follow the procedure below to safely change the
Xeno™
2500 lamp.
Disconnect the product from the AC power before opening. DO NOT change lamp
while product is plugged into power! Serious personal injury can occur.
Procedure
1. Turn the product off and disconnect it from power. Wait at least 15 minutes for the
lamp to cool down.
2. Remove both side covers by removing 4 Phillips-head screws.
3. Side A has a single wire from the lamp connected to a terminal block. Unscrew this
wire from the terminal block and note where it was connected. You will need to
install the new lamp in the same terminal.

4. Side B contains 2 wires (1- white and 1 clear) that are connected to a terminal block.
Unscrew these wires and carefully note where each was connected. CAUTION: Do
not misalign or reverse the connections when installing the new lamp!
5. Using the ceramic ends of the lamp, carefully remove it from the socket springs.
6. Holding ONLY the ceramic ends of the lamp and using EXTREME CAUTION not to
touch the glass portion of the lamp, gently slide the lamp into the socket spring
located on Side B.
7. Reverse the steps 2 through 4 above to install the new lamp.
Increasing the Lamp’s
Life
•DO NOT touch the lamp without wearing gloves to avoid leaving grease on the
bulb or on the contacts that could reduce the lamp’s life.
•ALWAYS change the lamp when it has reached its recommended lifespan to
avoid the risk of lamp explosion.

Scroller Mounting
Bracket
The Xeno™ 2500 is includes an adaptor bracket to mount a scroller. Follow the
procedure below to mount the scroller brackets.
Procedure
1. Turn the product off and disconnect it from power. Wait at least 15 minutes for the
lamp to cool down.
2. Using the diagrams above, place each bracket on the product using the alignment
nipple and the bracket screws. Insure that each bracket is installed on the proper
side.
3. Tighten each of the 4 Phillips-head bracket attachment screws.

Mounting
Before mounting this product, read and follow the Safety Notes in this manual.
Orientation
Always mount this product in a safe position and make sure there is adequate room for
ventilation, configuration, and maintenance.
Rigging
CHAUVET® recommends using the following general guidelines when mounting this
product.
•When selecting an installation location, consider easy access to this product for
operation, programming adjustments, and routine maintenance.
•Make sure to mount this product away from any flammable material as indicated in
the Safety Notes.
•Never mount in places where rain, high humidity, extreme temperature changes, or
restricted ventilation may affect the product.
•If hanging this product, make sure that the mounting location can support the
product’s weight. Refer to the Technical Specifications chart for the weight-bearing
requirements of this product.
•When hanging this product, always secure to a fastening device using a safety cable.
Product Mounting Diagram
The Xeno™ 2500 comes with an already installed mounting bracket to which you will be
able to attach clamps for hanging.
You must supply your own clamps and insure they are
capable of supporting the weight of this product
. In addition, you will have to use a safety
cable to link the product to the structure.

Control Panel
Description
Button Function
<MENU>
Sets the currently selected value into the selected function
or exits from the current menu or function. Press and hold
for 3 seconds to turn display backlight off
<UP>
Navigates upward through the menu list and increases the
numeric value when in a function
<DOWN>
Navigates downward through the menu list and decreases the
numeric value when in a function
Control Options
You can set the Xeno™ 2500 start address in the 001~512 DMX range. This allows for
the control of up to 128 products in the 4-channel mode. The Xeno™ 2500
works with
any compatible DMX controller using standard DMX cables.
Programming
Carry out all the programming procedures indicated below from the control panel. Refer
to the Menu Map to learn how the menu options relate to each other.
DMX Address
1. Go to A.(001~512) in the main level.
2. To change the current address, press <UP>or <DOWN> (pressing <UP> and
<DOWN> keys at the same time will return the setting to 001).
DMX Mode
1. Go to d.(3~4)CH in the main level.
2. To change the current mode, press
<UP>
or
<DOWN>

Standalone Flash Mode
This mode allows you to set the flash speed in the control panel without need of a
separate controller.
1. Go to FL.(00~99) in the main level.
2. Select the Flash Speed (
00~99
).
Sound–Active Flash Mode
This mode allows you to set the product to activate using the microphone located on the
bottom of the product. The intensity control knob can be used to adjust the sensitivity of
the microphone. Aud.0 is used for a single product while Aud.1~9
may be used for
multiple products connected via the SLAVE OUT connection.
1. Go to Aud.(0~9)in the main level.
2. Select the sound-active mode (
0~9
).

Master/Slave Mode
This mode allows you to set the MASTER product to control other products daisy
chained together. There are 3 ways to configure Master/Slave mode.
Standalone Flash
Master/Slave Mode
1. Go to FL. (00~99) in the main level on the first MASTER product.
2. Select the desired Flash Speed (00~99).
3. Go to A.(001~512) in the main level and set the DMX address to A.001.
4. Connect the SLAVE products using the SLAVE OUT connection on the back of the
MASTER product.
5. Connect the rest of the SLAVE products using the DMX IN/OUT connections.
6. Go to A.(001~512
) in the main level of each of the SLAVE products and set the DMX
address to A.002, A.003, A.004 … as it pertains to each product in the chain.
Sound-Active Flash
Master/Slave Mode
1. Go to Aud.(0~9) in the main level on the first MASTER product.
2. Select the desired sound-active mode (0~9).
3. Go to A.(001~512) in the main level and set the DMX address to A.001.
4. Connect the SLAVE products using the SLAVE OUT connection on the back of the
MASTER product.
5. Connect the rest of the SLAVE products using the DMX IN/OUT connections.
6. Go to A.(001~512) in the main level of each of the
SLAVE products and set the DMX
address to A.002, A.003, A.004…as it pertains to each product in the chain.
DMX Control
Master/Slave Mode
1. Go to A.(001~512) in the main level of the first MASTER product and set the desired
DMX starting address.
2. Connect the SLAVE products using the SLAVE OUT connection on the back of the
MASTER product.
3. Connect the rest of the SLAVE products using the DMX IN/OUT connections.
4. Go to A.(001~512) in the main level of each of the
SLAVE products and set the DMX
address to
A.002, A.003, A.004…
as it pertains to each product in the chain.
If more than 4 products are daisy chained together, the first product is the Master,
and the Slave products are set in order as 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4 … The last 4 products
run the same patterns of the first 4 products, and so on.

Product
Maintenance
To maintain optimum performance and minimize wear, you should clean this product
frequently. Usage and environment are contributing factors in determining the cleaning
frequency.
As a rule, clean this product at least twice a month. Dust build-up reduces
light output
performance and can cause overheating. This can lead to reduced light source life and
increased mechanical wear.
To clean your product:
•Unplug the product from power.
•Wait until the product has cooled.
•Use a vacuum (or dry compressed air) and a soft brush to remove dust collected on
the external vents and accessible internal components.
•Clean all external optics and glass/plastic surfaces with a mild solution of non-
ammonia glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.
•Apply the solution directly to a soft, lint-free cotton cloth or a lens cleaning tissue.
•Wipe any dirt or grime to the outside edges of the lens, glass, or plastic surface.
•
Gently polish the lenses until they are free of haze and lint.
Always dry the external optics, glass, and plastic surfaces thoroughly after
cleaning them.
Refrain from spinning this product’s fans using compressed air.
Returns
The user must send the merchandise prepaid, in the original box, and with its original
packing and accessories. CHAUVET® will not issue call tags.
Call CHAUVET®
and request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before
shipping the product. Be prepared to provide the model number, serial number, and a
brief description of the cause(s) for the return.
The user must clearly label the package with an RMA number. CHAUVET®
will refuse
any product returned without an RMA number.
DO NOT write the RMA number directly on the box. Instead, write it on a properly
affixed label.
Once you have received the RMA number please include the following information on a
piece of paper inside the box:
•Your name
•Your address
•Your phone number
•The RMA number
•A brief description of the problem(s)
Be sure to pack the product properly. Any shipping damage resulting from inadequate
packaging will be the customer’s responsibility. FedEx packing or double-
boxing are
recommended.
CHAUVET® reserves the right to use its own discretion to repair or replace
returned product(s).
