Warrant Statement
Chroma-Q warrants to the origina purchaser, with proof of purchase, that its de ivered products sha be free from defects in
materia and workmanship under norma use for a period of 12 months from date of shipment.
Chroma-Q wi repair, or at its option, provide an equiva ent item or rep ace, the defective product during the stated warranty
period. This warranty app ies on y to the repair or rep acement of the product and on y when the product is proper y hand ed,
insta ed and maintained according to Chroma-Q instructions. This warranty exc udes defects resu ting from improper hand ing,
storage, insta ation, acts of God, fire, vanda ism or civi disturbances. Purchaser must notify Chroma-Q in writing within 14 days
of noticing the defect. This warranty exc udes fie d abour or service charges re ated to the repair or rep acement of the product.
The warranty contained herein sha not extend to any finished goods or spare parts from which any seria number has been
removed or which have been damaged or rendered defective (a) as a resu t of norma wear and tear, wi fu or accidenta
damage, neg igence, misuse or abuse; (b) due to water or moisture, ightning, windstorm, abnorma vo tage, harmonic
distortion, dust, dirt, corrosion or other externa causes; (c) by operation outside the specifications contained in the user
documentation; (d) by the use of spare parts not manufactured or so d by Chroma-Q or by the connection or integration of other
equipment or software not approved by Chroma-Q un ess the Customer provides acceptab e proof to Chroma-Q that the defect
or damage was not caused by the above; (e) by modification, repair or service by anyone other than Chroma-Q, who has not
app ied for and been approved by Chroma-Q to do such modification, repair or service un ess the Customer provides acceptab e
proof to Chroma-Q that the defect or damage was not caused by the above; (f) due to procedures, deviating from procedures
specified by Chroma-Q or (g) due to fai ure to store, insta , test, commission, maintain, operate or use finished goods and spare
parts in a safe and reasonab e manner and in accordance with Chroma-Q’s instructions (h) by repair or rep acement of engines
without factory training.

used”, as “demo” or under simi ar qua ifications or to Consumab es (“Consumab es” is defined as any part(s) of goods or part(s)

which part(s) of goods or part(s) for use with goods require rep acement from time to time by a user such as, but not imited to,
ight bu bs).

has been paid by the due date for payment.
The warranty contained herein app ies on y to the origina purchaser and are not assignab e or transferab e to any subsequent
purchaser or end-user.
This warranty is subject to the shipment of the goods, within the warranty period, to the Chroma-Q warranty returns
department, by the purchaser, at the purchasers expense. If no fau t is found, Chroma-Q wi charge the purchaser for the
subsequent return of the goods.
Chroma-Q reserves the right to change the warranty period without prior notice and without incurring ob igation and express y
disc aims a warranties not stated in this imited warranty.

The Chroma-Q Studio Force™ 12 LED fixtures range features a choice of 6,100K CCT, day ight white (Studio Force D 12 & D
XT 12), 3,000K CCT, tungsten white (Studio Force T 12) and 3,000K – 6,100K CCT, variab e white (Studio Force V 12) mode s
– the atter featuring 3200°K and 5600°K aboratory ca ibrated presets.
Uti ising the same core techno ogies as the innovative Chroma-Q Co or Force™ range, both mode s offer at east twice the ight
output of their RGBA co our variants.
The units provide extreme outputs of 6,000 umens (Studio Force D 12) / 15,000 umens (Studio Force D XT 12 / 5,000 umens
(Studio Force T 12) / 5,300 umens (Studio Force V 12) for even y washing arge areas, comp emented by smooth, theatrica
grade dimming.
The Studio Force range is specifica y designed for TV, fi m, touring, exhibitions, corporate events and theatre ighting
app ications.
At on y 300mm / 1ft ong, the fixtures are idea for f oor, wa or truss mounting. The units can a so be used to extend Studio
Force LED batten insta ations.

Each mode uti ises two ight engines featuring 24 high powered LEDs per engine and a tota of 48 LEDs per fixture. The Studio
Force D 12 features 24 co d white LEDs per engine, the Studio Force D XT 12 features 24 co d white high output LEDs per
engine, the Studio Force T 12 features 24 warm white LEDs per engine and the Studio Force V 12 features 12 co d white and
12 warm white LEDs per engine.
Each mode is equipped with a bui t-in power supp y and can operate as a standa one unit or be remote y contro ed through the
ANSI E1.11 USITT DMX 512-A protoco . The contro options incorporate a choice of mu tip e channe intensity contro , effects
and a dynamic Variab e Effects Engine integrated in the software, which gives the user fu contro of the effects combination.
The product's robust anodised a uminum extruded construction houses a discreet cab e management system. Additiona
protection is bui t around the enses for a tru y road proof fixture.
+The Lightbank Kit consists of the Lightbank Adaptor (Speedring) and Lightbank. Both items can a so be purchased separate y. Fixture not inc uded.

2. Operation
2.1 Unpacking the Units
The Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 package inc udes 1 unit Studio Force 12 fixture, power connector (EU)/power
cord (US) and a Quick Start Guide. We recommend that you keep the origina packaging in case the item needs to be returned.
2.2 Cabling
The Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 uti ise PowerCon connectors for power input and through. The DMX contro data
input and through connections from an externa contro conso e are via two XLR 5-pin connectors. The chassis are ground
bonded.
Note: The maximum number of Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 fixtures running off a sing e power input cab e is 10
at 120V AC or 20 at 240V AC. P ease refer to ANSI and AWG standards for the maximum data and power cab e engths.

Important Notice: The use of an opto-sp itter for DMX signa distribution is high y recommended when severa fixture units are

The Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 fixtures are equipped with bui t-in mounting yokes for f oor, wa and truss
mounting app ications. The yoke assemb y features a hidden quick re ease fixing for fast and easy ti t adjustment.
Note: Secure the fixture with a safety bond. A provision for a fixing ho d is bui t into the yoke.
2.4 Optical Accessories
S ide-in optica accessories are avai ab e to adjust the beam ang e of the Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 fixtures to
suit a wide range of app ications. Two accessory s ots and a swive p ate are inc uded at the front and side of the fixture to ho d
and ock these s ide-in accessories: cyc and border ight ens, ightbank kit, egg crate ouver, top hat, ha f top hat, barn door and
diffuser box attachment accessories.
2.5 Chevrons
The Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 fixtures have the ‘chevron’ markings stamped on both ends and printed at the
rear enc osure to indicate the side of the fixture that shou d be adjacent to the wa or cyc orama.
2.6 Control
Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 fixtures can operate as a standa one unit or be contro ed remote y via ANSI E1.11
USITT DMX512-A protoco . The contro functions can be accessed through the LCD disp ay at the rear of the fixture with 4 push
buttons.

Displa Mode:
The LCD is back it when you access the menus. This wi turn off when eft undisturbed for 5 seconds.

Master Standalone – assigns the unit to be the Master unit where standa one contro options are set.
Slave Standalone – assigns the unit to be the S ave unit and fo ows the contro options assigned to the Master unit.
Manual – gives manua contro for the Intensity eve (Studio Force D 12, D XT 12 & T 12), and Intensity and Co our
Temperature (Studio Force V 12)

To set the DMX start address, press Enter, press Up/Down buttons to adjust DMX start address, press Enter for
2 seconds to save settings, the disp ay goes back to Home.

standa one modes. 2 grouping options are avai ab e ce -grouped (“Duo) and a -grouped (“A ”). Refer to the ist

In this mode, the intensity eve “Intensity” can be set and adjusted in standa one operation. From the main
menu, press Up/Down to access “Contro Mode”, press Up/Down to se ect “Manua ”, and then press Enter for 2
seconds to save the setting. Press Exit and the disp ay wi show “Manua Contro ” and the intensity eve “00%
Intensity”. To adjust the eve s press Enter once “00%” eve wi f ash. Use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the
va ue and press Enter for 2 seconds to save the settings.

In this mode, the intensity eve “Int” and co our temperature “CT” can be set and adjusted in standa one
operation. From the main menu, press Up/Down to access “Contro Mode”, press Up/Down to se ect “Manua ”,
and then press Enter for 2 seconds to save the setting. Press Exit and the disp ay wi show “Manua Contro ” –
the eve of co our temperature “CT 00%” and the intensity eve “Int 00%”. To adjust the eve s press Enter
once and the CT eve wi f ash. Use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the va ue and press Enter again once and
the “Int” eve wi f ash. Use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the va ue and press Enter for 2 seconds to save the
settings.

When DMX is Lost
If DMX is not detected various output options can be se ected:
Press Up/Down to access “When DMX is Lost”, press Enter, press Up/Down buttons to se ect the options , press
Enter for 2 seconds to save.

Look Store
The Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 can record 31 Looks for standa one operation. In the Studio
Force V / D / D XT fixtures, pre-programmed Looks are stored in 1-23 and on y Look 1 is pre-programmed in
the Studio Force T fixture. (*Note: On y a se ection of pre-programmed Looks is app icab e to the Studio Force D,
D XT and T fixtures.)
To rep ay a Look in standa one operation, press Up/Down buttons to access “Look Store”, press Enter, press
Up/Down buttons to se ect the desired Look and press Enter for 2 seconds to save settings.
To rep ay a Look with a DMX conso e, press Up/Down buttons to access Contro Mode 11 and press Enter for 2
seconds. Use the DMX conso e with the assigned channe to p ayback the various ooks stored. (1-31 ooks in 1
sing e channe )
(Note: DMX has priority over interna Looks)
Looks can be recorded to the interna f ash memory by users and wi be preserved on power down. However,
ooks wi be returned to defau t setting if Reset is performed. There are two ways to record a ook:
Simple, with DMX console
Set the Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 to the desired Contro Mode. Use a DMX conso e to adjust
channe eve s and create the desired ook or effect. Press Up/Down buttons to the “Look Store” and press
Enter, press Up/Down buttons to the desired Look number and press Enter. Press Enter again for 2 seconds to
save Look.
Advanced, standalone (DMX is unplugged)
Press Up/Down buttons to access “Look Store”, and press Enter, press Up/Down button to the desired Look and
press Enter to access the memory data. The data is presented as two numbers separated by a etter “c”. The
number to the eft of the “c” is the channe number and to the right is the channe eve . Pressing Up/Down up
to the far end wi show the Mode at which the se ected Look was programmed.
To edit the Mode of a selected Look:
Press Up/Down buttons to access “Look Store” and press Enter, press Up/Down to the desired Look and press
Enter to access the memory data. Press Up/Down buttons up to the far end unti Mode number is shown and
press Enter. Press Up/Down buttons to adjust the Mode number. Press Enter to togg e back to the channe
numbers.
To edit the channel numbers and levels of a selected Look:
Press Up/Down buttons to access “Look Store” and press Enter, press Up/Down to the desired Look and press
Enter to access the memory data. Press Up/Down buttons and se ect the channe number. To edit the channe
eve , press Enter and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the eve (shown as 0-255). Press Enter to togg e back
to the channe number. When the desired effect is created press Enter for 2 seconds to save the edited Look.
Technical
In this mode, frequency settings of the unit can be changed; and pre-programmed engines can be up oaded.

Press Up/Down to access “Technica ”, press Up/Down to se ect either “Frequency” or “Up oad Engines”.
Frequency:
The Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 has four frequency settings avai ab e - 600, 1200, 2400, 4800.
This a ows for the LED scan rate to be synchronised with the video camera and avoid a f ickering effect. Press
the Up/Down buttons to se ect the desired frequency, press Enter for 2 seconds to save settings.
Up oad Engines:
Pre-programmed engines can be up oaded to the Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 from the Chroma-
Q Up oader:
1. Press Enter, Up/Down buttons to se ect “Up oad Engines” then press Enter, and the disp ay wi
show “Ready”:
2. Connect an XLR 5-pin cab e from the Up oader to the unit.
3. Power-up the Up oader - disp ay wi show the fi e name, and “Ready”.
4. Press the “GO” button once to execute the up oading - red indicator ight on the “GO” button wi
b ink.
5. The Up oader disp ay wi show a simu ated arrow moving from eft to right indicating the
up oading process.
6. A the white LEDs of the unit wi ight up ( ow intensity) to indicate comp etion of a successfu
Up oad and the Up oader disp ay wi show “DONE”.

Output Setting
This menu app ies to the Co or Force 12 fixtures. The ight output of the Co or Force 12 fixtures can be adjusted
to two eve s. “Standard” is the maximum ight output and “Matching CF48/72” is the ight output eve that
matches the eve s of the Co or Force 72 and 48 fixtures.
Press Up/Down to access “Output Setting”, then press Enter and Up/Down to se ect between “Standard” or
Matching CF48/72”.
Fan Speed
The Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 are bui t with an interna fan with four speed options to regu ate
noise eve s and the coo ing process. The interna fan is off in the “Quiet” mode. The “Studio” mode is the
equiva ent to ow ve ocity for most studio app ication and coo er ocations. “Live” mode is the equiva ent to high
ve ocity for ouder/ ess critica app ications and warmer ocations. “Live with Light” mode is equiva ent to the
“Live” mode activating when the ight is on.
Press Enter, Up/Down buttons to se ect “Fan Speed”, then press Enter to se ect from either “Quiet”, “Studio”,
“Live” or “Live with Light”, and then press Enter for 2 seconds to save the settings.
Reset to Default
Press Up/Down to access “Reset to Defau t”, press Enter, disp ay wi show “reset?”, press Enter for 2 seconds,
disp ay wi show “resetting” and “done” when comp ete, and a menu items are reset to factory defau ts:
DMX address = 001, Contro Mode = 2 , When DMX is Lost = Ho d, Looks = 00,
Frequency = 600, Fan Speed = Quiet, Output Setting = Standard.

The Studio Force V 12 / T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12 fixture unit is equipped with an interna fan to drive the interna coo ing system. If
the interna temperature of the Studio Force 12 exceeds 75ºC the output of the fixture is reduced for automatic protection. This
happens on rare and extreme conditions when ambient temperature is over 35ºC or the interna fans are b ocked or damaged.
The airf ow to and from the fan must not be constricted to maintain the maximum operating capacity of the Studio Force V 12 /
T 12 / D 12 / D XT 12.
3. Troubleshooting
Troub eshooting is a process of e imination. First, ru e out the other fie d factors (i.e. bad connections, fau ty cab es and power
supp ies). For technica support and/or parts, p ease contact your se ing dea er or the offices isted in this manua .
