Using Your Speakerphone
A speakerphonegives you the freedom to useyour telephone
without lifting thehandset.After initial contactis made,you can
carry on a telephoneconversationandstill be free to do other
things.Whenevertheinstructions“Lift thehandsettotalk” appear
in thisguide,theymay beignoredif youhaveaspeakerphone.
Duringthecourseof aconversationyou canalwaysswitch from
the speakerphoneto thehandsetfor privacy.To do this,just lift
the handsetandtalk. To returnto speakerphoneuse,pressthe
SPKFCbuttonandhangupthehandset.
To manuallyplaceacall usingyour speakerphone:
1. Presstheline buttonorthe ITCMbutton,

2. Dial thenumber.
3. Whenparty answers,talk.
To autodial using your speakerphone,just pressthe
programmedbuttonandtalk whenyourpartyanswers.
To answeracall with your speakerphone:
1. Presstheline buttonwith flashingredlight.
2. Whenparty answers,talk.
To.endacall with yourspeakerphone,just press

SPKR.

What the Lights Mean
The lights on your telephonelet you know the statusof lines,
featuresandtheintercom.
Next to a DSS/BLF button:
Steadyred= stationis in use.
Flashingred= stationis receivingacall.
Fastflashingred= station-to-stationmessaginghasbeenset.
Next to a line button:
Steadyred= anotherstationis usingthis line.
Flashingred= acall is coming in onthis line.
Fasterflashingred=thecallhasbeenplacedonholdbyanother
station.
Next to a feature button:
Steadyred= thefeatureis on.
Light off = thefeatureis off.
Next to an intercom button:
Steadyredwith aquick flash= you areusingyour intercom.
Fastflashing red= autoredialis in use.
Fastflashingredwith repeatedoff periods= night modeis on.
Steadyflashingred= anLCD messageis setonyourtelephone.
What the Rings Mean
Two shortrings= intercomcall.
Singlelongerring = outsidecall.
Oneshorttoneburst= voice announceandOHVA.
Threeshorttonebursts= ringbackfrom aheldcall,callbackfrom
aqueuedcall.
You can vary the ringing tone of your ExecuTechtelephone,
choosingfrom one of four different rings. This way, you can
identify your ring even though you may not be close to your
telephone.
Additionally, so you won’t be disturbedwhen you’re busy on a
call and anothercall rings at your station,the ring volume is
subduedautomatically.

Off-Hook VoiceAnnounce
Your telephonemay be set up for either an Off-Hook Voice
Announce(OHVA) or aSecureOff-Hook VoiceAnnounce.*
This featureallows anintercomcallerto breakinto youroutside
call with anannouncementeitherthroughyour speaker(OHVA)
or throughyour handsetreceiver(SOHVA).
An OHVA consistsof a quick toneburstandan announcement
from thespeakerof anadjunctfeaturemodule.
* SOHVA is available on the following ExecuTech telephones:

A SOHVA consists of both severalshort tone bursts and an
announcementin thehandsetreceiver.The distantparty cannot
heartheannouncement.To respond:
l Verbally: Pressandhold MUTE buttondown andreply
by speaking into handset. Distant party cannot hear
response.
l Non-verbally: If the announcingstation has an LCD
speakerphone, pressing a preprogrammed message
responsebuttoncausesamessageto appearin their dis-
play anddisconnectstheannouncingstation.
Station Monitoring
If your stationis setupfor stationmonitoring, whenaBLF light
flashes(indicating stationringing), you canpick up the call by
pressingtheDSSbutton.
However,afteryouanswerthecall andeitherput it onHOLD or
beginto transferit, theDSSlight will go out.
PressTAP if youhaveto retrievethecall.

Automatic Callback
If theintercom stationyou havecalledis busy,you canqueueto
thebusytelephone.

2. Hang up. Your telephonewill ring with five short tone
burstswhentheoneyou calledbecomesidle.
3. After you lift the handset,the telephoneyou called will
ring. If youdon’tlift thehandset,thecallbackis cancelled.
