SNMP & RMON
SNMP & RMON functionality are configured
easily using Compex FreedomView Pro
software that allows remote monitoring of data
flow and packets in the switches. The RMON
function allows polling of switches and to alert
user of any abnormal operations of the switch
using the four monitoring modes such as
Ethernet Statistic, History, Alarm and Event.
Segment your Network
CGX3224 switch supports Port-based and
Tagged VLAN which are compliant to IEEE
802.1Q standard which allows segmenting of
the entire network into smaller workgroups to
improve the network performance.
Segmenting the network would markedly
reduce the network broadcast traffic.
Prioritize Network Traffic
The Priority Queuing is designed based upon
IEEE 802.1p standard. It supports eight levels
of priority per port for prioritizing of critical
network traffic. This is very useful for
applications such as video and sound stream-
ing which are bandwidth critical.
Resiliency
The Spanning Tree Protocol conforming to
IEEE 802.1d ensures resiliency in the network.
In the event that preferred switch path is
broken or down. The resilient path takes over
and valuable data is still able to travel from
the server to the destination workstation.
Management
The management and configuration of
advanced features can be achieved using the
web-based management interface or through
telnet and SNMP.
Security
CGX3224 provides two levels of network
security: port-based 802.1x authentication
and MAC authentication. This ensures
that only authorized network devices are
connected to the switch and be allowed to
access the network through the individual
ports.
Aggregation Routing
Supporting up to four broadband devices
that enhance the enterprise internet
connectivity. In addition it also allows
connection to 4 different network without
further investment in a router.
Scalable
Up to sixteen switches can be stacked and
managed as one unit with a single IP
address. No additional hardware required
to stack units.
Network Monitoring
The ability to monitor your network
traffic through port-mirroring enables you
to diagnose the network easily. The
switch allows the setting of one or more
mirroring port for traffic monitoring.
Flexibility
Two expansion slots that is able to
support the 1000 Base-T Copper-Based
Gigabit Ethernet module, 1000Base-LX
Gigabit fiber module, 1000 Base-SX
Gigabit fiber module and 100 Base-FX
Fast Ethernet fiber module.
The Compex CGX3224 is a high performance and feature-rich SNMP switch. In
addition, it has two modular expansion slots that support Gigabit copper-based or
fiber modules thus providing the flexibility for network expansion. CGX3224 is
built with Aggregation Routing Capability that allows users the ability to connect up
to four broadband devices or connection to four different networks. CGX3224 is
designed with advanced features such as Port and Tagged Virtual LAN, Port Trunk-
ing, Spanning Tree Protocol, Switch Stacking capability, Port Priority and Port Se-
curity. CGX3224 provides a web-based configuration interface for the simple con-
figuration of these advanced features. Furthermore, CGX3224 is equipped with a
host search engine that allows users to find workstations that are connected to the
network based on IP address or Media Access Control (MAC) address.
