IMPORTANT INFORMATION
ELECTRICIANS MUST READ PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
1. Distributor and installer details and purchase receipts are essential for on-site warranty clai s
and ust be presented to repair personnel. A page towards the back of this anual has been
allocated to allow you to record these details.
2. Fans and fixed wiring products ust only be installed by persons who are appropriately licensed
by the applicable State regulatory body. Therefore, to protect our repair personnel, on-site
warranty clai s will not be accepted if products have been installed by unlicensed persons.
3. Da age caused by incorrect installation, force- ajeure, electrical surges, lightning, power grid
fluctuations, water or by connection to alternative power supply sources (such as solar inverters,
etc.) is not eligible for warranty repair.
4. Blades ust be replaced only as a co plete set. Blades are supplied only as a pre-balanced set
and the replace ent of individual blades ay void the warranty by causing echanical da age
to the otor, excessive noise or pre ature wear.
5. When products are installed in a location requiring special access equip ent (such as
scaffolding or scissor lifts, etc) the cost of providing, installing and operating special access
equip ent ust be borne by the site owner.
6. “This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or ental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.” (AS/
NZS 60335.1 C1.7.12)
DANGER: Contact with cei ing fan b ades can cause serious injury or death.
To electricians and installers. The Australian Co petition and Consu er Law 2010 andates
consu er protection against defects or poor work anship in provision of services (such as
installing a ceiling fan). To protect yourself and the consu er these instructions ust be
followed. Failure to do so ay result in the consu er aking a clai against you for
consequential loss or da age.
7. A double pole isolation switch providing full disconnection of both fan and light ust be fitted in
accordance with the wiring rules (AS/NZS 60335.1 C1.7.12.2).
For safety, and to protect your customers warranty, the fo owing must be taken into
account when insta ing and operating the product(s):
IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE PRODUCT AT TIME OF

ONCE INSTALLED UNLESS INSTRUCTED TO DO SO.
(a) DO NOT USE SOLID-STATE WALL CONTROLLERS. Neither leading nor lagging edge
controllers will give satisfactory perfor ance. Wall controls ust only be types approved
for use by Hunter Pacific International.
(b) The fan, light and bracket ust be earthed.
(c) Fan and light ust be run fro the sa e final circuit.
(d) Mounting bracket ust be fir ly screwed to a solid structure such as a concrete ceiling,
steel structure or ti ber fra ing. If additional bracing is added it ust be fir ly secured to
the rafters and not left floating on the ceiling. Special ounts, such as T-hooks, are
available for certain types of installation. DO NOT USE COUNTERSUNK SCREWS.
(e) After installation, fan blades ust be at least 2.1 (7 feet) above floor level.
(f) The use of these products by children and the infir ust be under supervision.

Troub eshooting Tips for Insta ers - Light
• Light wi not turn on - Make sure la p has not blown and is properly fitted.
Check all light wires in the light kit, the ter inal block in the canopy cover and
the wall switch have been connected correctly.
• Light is not responding to remote contro - Make sure la p has not blown.
Check all light wires in the light kit, the ter inal block in the canopy cover and
the re ote receiver have been connected correctly. Check dip switch settings in
re ote hand piece and re ote receiver correspond. Check hand piece battery.
• Light f ickers or f ashes - Check globe is secured properly. Check CFL or LED
globes are not defective, then recheck wiring.
• NOTE: DO NOT USE CFL OR LED GLOBES WITH LIGHT DIMMERS OR
DIMMING REMOTE CONTROLS
Troub eshooting Tips for Owners - Light
Warning: Danger of electric shock. Do not re ove any covers or parts except for
diffuser and light ri (to attach/re ove blades or replace la ps).
If light not working check isolation switch is on and that the la ps not blown.
Warning: Switch off isolation switch before replacing la ps.

Troub eshooting Tips for Insta ers - Fan
Fan wi not start
• Check that the reversing switch is fully pushed into its Su er or Winter position.
• Check wire connections in the wall switch and ter inal blocks, ensure all wires
are aking proper contact.
• Check isolation switch is ‘on’.
Fan speed is not responding to the wa contro er
• Check the speeds on the wall controller have been wired correctly and are
aking proper contact. Grey = speed 1, Blue = speed 2, Yellow = speed 3.
• Check wires in the ter inal block are connected properly, connection wires
should be stripped back at the connection point and unused wires should be
sealed and capped off.
• Check that the reversing switch is fully pushed into its Su er or Winter position.
Fan is not responding to the remote contro (if fitted)
• Check for flat battery. Make sure the dipswitch settings in the hand piece and the
re ote receiver atch.
• Check handset progra ed to receiver (refer re ote control anual).
Fan is wobb ing
• Check the ball joint slot is locked into the hanger bracket groove.
• Make sure blades are a atching set; the figures on atching sets of blades
should be identical with the nu bers varying within 3 gra s of each other.
• Check blade screws are tightened fir ly.
• DO NOT use a power tool to tighten screws.
• Make sure bracket is tight against ceiling and the ceiling and the ceiling structure
are not oving.
• DO NOT use countersunk screws to hold bracket against ceiling. Countersunk
screws will ake fan wobble (now or later) and allow the bracket to ove.
Fan is noisy
• Check all screws and parts are secured fir ly. Ensure there are no loose parts
oving inside the otor housing.
• Make sure the fan is installed with an Hunter Pacific wall controller only, do not
use solid state controllers as they will cause unpleasant otor noises.
• Check ceiling bracket is secure. If ceiling canopy oves then the bracket or
ceiling is oving and screws loose, not into structure or of counter sunk type.

General Maintenance
Changing Re ote Batteries: - Batteries used in Handsets will weaken over ti e and should
be replaced every 6 onths. Batteries re oved fro the handset should be disposed of
properly and kept out of reach of children.
* A ways ensure fan is comp ete y switched off at the iso ation switch or circuit breaker *
Cleaning the Motor Housings: - Motor housings should be regularly cleaned to avoid build
up of dust. Dust will attract oisture and condensation leading to corrosion. Use a soft,
da p (not wet) cloth to re ove dust. Use only water and ild detergent. Spray cleaners
ay da age coatings.
Cleaning the Blades: - Use a soft da p cloth to re ove dirt fro blades. Always dry blades
after cleaning. Blades should not be left da p or wet as this will da age blade finish or
cause corrosion. Use only water and ild detergent. Spray cleaners ay da age coatings.
Always use soft cloths to clean blades and otor housings to avoid scratching painted and
plated finishes. Ideally your fan should be cleaned every 3 to 4 onths.
If re oving blades for cleaning then do so for each fan separately, do not ix blades fro
different fans as this can upset the balance of the fan. Put blades back in the position they
ca e fro .
Nor al Wear and Tear: - Please note that a ceiling fan travels an enor ous distance in the
course of its nor al operation. Air is abrasive and suspended dust, high hu idity and other
conta ination will cause wear and tear of surfaces.
The use of fans under roofed decks and pergolas next to swi ing pools and in coastal
areas will require increased aintenance due to the presence of chlorides (either as co -
on air borne salt spray or fro co pounds in pool che icals)
The te peratures attained in the peak of a pitched deck or veranda roof can easily exceed
60-70°C and especially when coupled with chlorides this will increase aintenance
require ents. Even indoors in coastal areas the influx of war , sea air can accelerate the
surface corrosion of etal parts. This can still happen a great any kilo etres fro the
sea.
When hu idity is high and te perature drops oisture condenses on etal surfaces
including ceiling fans. The layer of oisture can be al ost icroscopic but it will affect the
surface by depositing a tiny layer of dissolved salts or airborne acidic co pounds and thus
eventually leading to corrosion if the product is not properly and regularly cleaned. This
applies equally to indoor and outdoor fans.
LACK OF MAINTENANCE LEADING TO SURFACE CORROSION OR SIMILAR
DAMAGE IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY.

REVERSE (Winter) Mode
In REVERSE (Winter) ode your ceiling fan will spin the opposite direction. Air is drawn up the
centre of the fan, and pushed along the ceiling to circulate down to the living areas.
The REVERSE (Winter) ode can also be for air circulation in a poorly ventilated roo s.
The direction the fan will spin in REVERSE (Winter) when viewed fro underneath will be
clockwise.
FORWARD (Summer) Mode
Ceiling fans are an environ entally s art choice to assist with cooling and war ing your ho e.
In FORWARD (Su er) ode your ceiling fan will spin to push air down the centre of the fan
producing a cooling breeze.
The direction the fan will spin in FORWARD (Su er) when viewed fro underneath will be anti-
clockwise.

Quick Check ist
1.
Ceiling fan is not installed using a solid-state wall controller. Neither leading nor
lagging edge controllers will give satisfactory perfor ance. Wall controllers ust
only be types approved for use by Hunter Pacific.
2.
The fan, fan light asse bly and bracket are earthed.
3.
Fan, fan light and re ote control receiver are run fro the sa e final circuit via a
double pole isolation switch.
4.
Mounting bracket ust be fir ly secured to a solid structure such as a concrete
ceiling, steel structure or ti ber fra ing. If additional bracing is added it ust be
fir ly secured to the rafters and not left floating on the ceiling. Special ounts,
such as T-hooks, are available for certain types of installation.

Counter sunk screws are not to be used to attach bracket to ceiling.
6.
Fan blades are at least 2.1 (7 feet) above floor level.

Check the fan is operating correctly on all speeds.
8.
If light is installed. Check light is functioning properly.
9.
If re ote control is installed. Check the fan (and light if installed) is responding to
the re ote control correctly. (Non-di ing re ote control to be used with
fluorescent and LED la ps).

Check electrician’s details have been recorded onto page 15 of this anual.
Electricians ake sure everything on this checklist is ticked off before you leave the installation site.

Manufacturer’s warranty covers defects in the product only. It does not cover defects within the fan
installation or i proper aintenance. This warranty covers Australia only.
Warranty periods begin fro the day of purchase fro an authorised reseller or dealer. Warranty on
builder supplied and installed fans co ences when fans are delivered to the ho e builder or
contractor (which generally precedes hand over of the dwelling). Warranty periods are as follows:
STANDARD WARRANTY (ELECTRONIC PARTS)
1 year in-ho e warranty on all electronic co ponents such as control odules, re ote control
syste s, capacitors and lighting whether supplied as part of the co plete product or as an
accessory (in-ho e warranty not available on user replaceable la ps and re ote control handsets).
EXTENDED WARRANTY (MOTOR AND MECHANICAL PARTS)
2 years in-ho e warranty on echanical parts and the otor, excluding cos etic issues (unless
reported in the first 6 onths).
3 years additional parts warranty on the electric otor (excluding capacitors).
This state ent is required by the Australian Consu er Law 2010: “Our goods come with guarantees
that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or
refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or
damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of
acceptable uality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.”

Pacific Internationa Pty Ltd or its service agent reserve the right to charge a service fee to
rectify the reported prob em.

covered by warranty. This warranty does not cover the product being incorrectly used, physically
abused, accidentally da aged or not serviced in accordance with the aintenance instructions.
This product warranty excludes to the fullest extent possible under law any liability for consequential
loss or da ages directly or indirectly resulting fro a faulty ceiling fan or accessory product that is
not installed or aintained according to the installation instructions. When installed, aintained and
used according to the instructions such loss or da age can be easily avoided or ini ised.
Signals (ripple control) sent through the power grid by the electricity supplier for the control of other
devices ay cause inter ittent noises and do not occur as a result of a fault in the fan.
When ceiling fans are installed in a location requiring special equip ent (such as scaffolding or
scissor lifts) the cost of providing such equip ent ust be borne by the site owner in case of
aintenance and repair and such costs should be considered when deciding on fan place ent.
WHS regulations ay prohibit technicians fro atte pting to access products installed above a
certain height without special easures in-place. It is the site owners responsibility to provide those
easures at their own cost or an on-site/in-ho e warranty service ay be refused. The product will
need to be re oved and reinstalled at the owners expense.
