Congratulations on the purchase of this premium electric heater.
CONVECTAIR develops and produces the highest quality heating product
in the electrical industry.
To obtain the best results and the ultimate in performance and comfort, please

1 SPECIFICATIONS

During the installation, the Soprano allows you to select a wattage, either 750W or 1500W.
It is also available in two models to suit your requirements: 120V or 240V.
The Soprano’s control (sold separately) can be a timer, a thermostat or even a wall switch
that meets electrical local codes.
2 RECOMMENDED SETUP
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
These instructions are essential for safe installation and use of your CONVECTAIR unit.
This unit must be connected to a 240 Volt or 120 Volt to 60 Hz depending on the model.
Switch breaker in the off position «OFF» before connecting. CONVECTAIR recommends

Determine where the Soprano must be installed. Once the location is chosen, ensure that

The connection of the unit must be in a rectangular junction box pre-installed in the wall.
It must be installed in the wall and of a size suitable for receiving the cable connection and
cover 2 3/4" x 4 1/2" (7 cm x 11.5 cm) supplied with the unit. Do not position the heater
below an electrical receptacle.
CAUTION:
 DO NOT INSTALL THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT
TO LESS THAN 71” (180 CM) FROM THE FLOOR
SURFACE.
 DO NOT INSTALL THE SIDES OF THE UNIT
TO LESS THAN 4” (10 CM) FROM ALL SURFACES.
 DO NOT INSTALL THE TOP OF THE UNIT
TO LESS THAN 8 ”(20 CM) OF A SHELF
OR A TABLET.
 DO NOT INSTALL THE TOP OF THE UNIT
TO LESS THAN 12” (30 CM) FROM THE CEILING.
 MAINTAIN A MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF 20”

3 INSTALL ATION AND MOUNTING
- In the case of a coating of wall, posed on foam, it is necessary to consider, between
the support and the wall, a hold of a thickness equal to that of foam (to avoid to obstruct
the air outlet).
- Release mounting bracket by pressing and pulling the locking tab on the back side
of the heater (Fig.2).
- Position the mounting bracket on the wall and check the horizontality. Mark and drill

- Replace mounting bracket and fasten it with appropriate screws and anchors.

4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

&RQ¿JXUDWLRQ:
- From the junction box connect the ground wire (copper) to the unit’s green wire,
use wire connectors (not included).
- Wire the unit following the recommandations as shown on the wiring diagrams below:
- Carefully place wires in the junction box and screw on the cover.
- Place the Soprano against the wall and lock it in position. Fix it to mounting bracket
before using.

CAUTION:
 DO NOT INSTALL HEATHER OVER A BATHTUB OR OTHER CONTAINER.
 DO NOT USE IN AREAS WHERE GASOLINE, PAINT, OR FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS
ARE USED OR STORED.

5 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The operating can vary according to the type of control used. Please consult
the instruction manual of the thermostat or the timer.
6 MAINTENANCE
To keep your unit clean, regular maintenance is recommended.
To remove dust, use a soft cloth. To remove a stain, use a damp cloth. Never use abrasives

WARNING: In some cases, the grill may turn yellow after a while. This is not due to
a manufacturing defect. This is due to smoke and suspended particles in the ambient air,
heated and blown through the grille. This coloring can be reduced by a weekly cleaning
of the grill.
7 PREVENTION
It is recommended to frequently clean the air intake at the rear of the unit especially
in areas where smoke and dust are present. Never use this heater during contruction or
other activities that generate high amounts of dust particles.

expelled from your Soprano. This is normal and it will cease after a few minutes of use.
CAUTION: ALWAYS DISCONNECT POWER TO THE UNIT BEFORE OPENING
OR CLEANING.
CAUTION:
THIS HEATER IS HOT WHEN IN USE.
TO AVOID BURNS, DO NOT LET BARE SKIN
TOUCH HOT SURFACES.

8 OVERHEAT CONTROL
The Soprano is equipped with a safety cut-out which shuts off the fan and the heating
element in case of overheating.
To reset the safety cut out:
1- Shut the power of the heater off.
2- Check the heater DQG¿[WKHFDXVHRIRYHUKHDWLQJEORFNLQJFRYHULQJRUGXVW
3- Wait 5 minutes, turn the power on and start the heater to check that it operates properly.
9 TROUBLESHOOTING
Before calling your electrician, please go through these simple checks:
1- Make sure the breaker in the distribution panel is in the “ON” position.
2- Make sure that your timer, thermostat or switch (not included) are in the “ON” position.
3- Adjust the thermostat (not included) to the maximum power level.
4- If after all these tests, the unit does not work, shut power “OFF” and wait 5 minutes,
then repeat steps 1 to 3. If the unit still does not work, contact your electrician or
CONVECTAIR.
5- If the light is still off, and no heat is generated, call your electrician or the nearest
CONVECTAIR service center.
After a while, the unit may shut off even if the heater is not clogged up. In such case,
the unit may require internal cleaning. Please contact one of our service centers or call
CONVECTAIR.
