Crestron TSW-UMB-70 Series User manual

The Crestron® TSW-UMB-70 series provides mounting brackets and
preconstruction mounting kits for TSW-70 series touch screens.
lThe TSW-UMB-70 universal mounting bracket is used to install a
TSW-70 series touch screen into existing drywall or paneling. The
bracket is also suitable for use in a lectern or podium.
lThe TSW-UMB-70-PMK preconstruction mounting kit is used along
with a TSW-UMB-70 to install landscape TSW-70 series touch screens
in preconstruction applications. The mounting kit permits fastening to
the left or right hand stud of a framed wall prior to installing drywall.
lThe TSW-UMB-570P-PMK provides the same functionality as the
TSW-UMB-70-PMKfor portrait TSW-70 series touch screens.
This document describes installation procedures for each listed model.

Install the TSW-UMB-70
Use the included cutout template to ensure that the correct dimensions
are retained during installation. The template provides dimensions for
installing the TSW-UMB-70 horizontally (for theTSW-570, TSW-770, and
TSW-1070) or vertically (for the TSW-570P).
CAUTION:Allow an air gap of at least 12 in. (305 mm)in the wall cavity
above and below the TSW-UMB-70 to ensure proper heat dissipation.

To install theTSW-UMB-70:
NOTE:If installing the TSW-UMB-70 into a wall with a shallow
mounting depth, remove the two 1 in. screws that hold the two halves
of the bracket together and replace them with the included 6-32x1/2
in. screws.
1. Place the included cutout template (40174) in the desired location on
the mounting surface and confirm it is level.
lPlace the template horizontally if installing a landscape touch
screen.
lPlace the template vertically if installing a portrait touch screen.
2. Trace an outline around the center cutout of the template.
3. Use the outline to cut an opening into the surface using an appropriate
drywall saw.
4. Loosen the two screws on the TSW-UMB-70 assembly, but do not
remove them.
5. Install the assembly into the opening, bottom first.
For portrait installations, install the assembly into the opening left side
first with the "TOP"text on the assembly to the right.
6. Reach into the assembly and push the rear half back so that it is
behind the mounting surface completely. Ensure the front of the
assembly is level.
For portrait installations, allow the assembly to angle into the opening
left side first before tightening the screws.
7. Tighten the two screws on the assembly to secure it to the surface. Do
not overtighten the screws.

Install the TSW-UMB-70-PMK or
TSW-UMB-570P-PMK
The TSW-UMB-70-PMK supports preconstruction and postconstruction
mounting applications for the TSW-570, TSW-770, and TSW-1070. The
TSW-UMB-570P-PMK supports preconstruction and postconstruction
mounting applications for the TSW-570P.
The TSW-UMB-70-PMK and TSW-UMB-570P-PMK are functionally
similar. For simplicity within this section, the term"PMK"is used to refer
to both models unless noted.
CAUTION:Allow an air gap of at least 12 in. (305 mm)in the wall cavity
above and below the PMK to ensure proper heat dissipation.
For preconstruction applications, use standard drywall nails or screws to
attach the PMK to a wall stud as shown in the following illustrations.

For postconstruction applications:
1. Use the PMKas a cutout template by turning it to face the mounting
surface.
2. Confirm the PMKis level, then use finishing nails to tack the PMKto
the surface through the four small holes around the cutout opening.
3. Trace an outline around the center cutout of the PMK.
4. Use the outline to cut an opening into the surface using an appropriate
drywall saw.
