1. Information on this Manual
1.1 Validity
This User manual contains installation, commissioning, basic troubleshooting and tech-support contact
information regarding CyberPower’s CPS All In One-Off Grid Inverter.

Using this manual, users will be able to install and operate the inverter rather easily. This manual does not cover
any details regarding equipment connected to the inverter.
1.2 Target Group
This manual is most suitable for users who have basic knowledge around electricity and electrical devices. Tasks
that do not require any particular qualification can also be performed by end users. Qualified persons must have
the following skills:

Knowledge of how an inverter works and is operated
Training in how to deal with the dangers and risks associated with installing and using electrical devices
and installations

1.4 Safety Instructions
1. Before using the unit, read all instructions and caution marks on the unit, understand the batteries and all
appropriate sections of this manual.
2. NEVER cause AC output and DC input short circuited. Do NOT connect to the mains when DC input short circuits.
3. NEVER charge a frozen battery.
4. Do not disassemble the unit. Takeit to a qualified service center when service or repair is required. Incorrect
re-assembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
5. To reduce risk of electric shock, disconnect all wiring before attempting any maintenance or cleaning. Turning off the
unit will not reduce this risk.
6. Be very cautious when working with metal tools on or around batteries. A potential risk, such as dropping a tool to
spark or short circuit batteries or other electrical parts, could cause anexplosion.
7. For optimum operation of this inverter, please follow required spec to select appropriate cable size. It’s very important
to correctly operate this inverter.
8. Please strictly follow installation procedure when you want to disconnect AC or DC terminals. Please refer to
installation section of this manual for the details.
9. Grounding Instructions - This inverter should be connected to a permanent grounded wiring system. Be sure to
comply with local requirements and regulation to install this inverter.
10. Fuses (4 pieces of 40A, 60VDC for 3KVA and 1 piece of 200A, 58VDC for 5KVA) are provided as over-current
protection for the battery supply.
This chapter contains important safety and operating instructions. Read
and keep this manual for future reference.
Only qualified personnel can install this device with battery.
To reduce risk of injury, charge only deep-cycle lead acid type
rechargeable batteries. Other types of batteries may burst,
causing personal injury and damage.
Only qualified service persons are able to service this device. If errors
still persist after following troubleshooting table, please send this
inverter back to local dealer or service center for maintenance.

2. Introduction
Hybrid Standalone Power System
This is an all in one off grid inverter, integrated with a MPPT solar charge controller, a high frequency pure sine wave
inverter and a UPS function module in one machine, which is perfect for off grid backup power and
self-consumption applications. The transformerless design provides reliable power conversion in a compact size.
The whole system also needs other devices to achieve complete running such as PV modules, generator, or utility grid.
Please consult with your system integrator for other possible system architectures depending on your requirements.
The WiFi module is a plug-and-play monitoring device to be installed on the inverter. With this device, users can
monitor the status of the PV system from the mobile phone or from the website anytime anywhere.

3. Installation
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Before installation, please inspect the unit. Be sure that nothing inside the package is damaged. You should have
received the following items in the package:

3.2 Preparation
Before connecting all wiring, please take off bottom cover by removing four screws as shown below.
3.3 Mounting the Unit
Consider the following points before selecting where to install:
Do not mount the inverter on flammableconstruction
materials.
Mount on a solid surface
Install this inverter at eye level in order to allow theLCD
display to be read at all times.
The ambient temperature should be between 0°C and55°C to
ensure optimal operation.
The recommended installation position is to be adhered to the
wall vertically.
Be sure to keep other objects and surfaces as shown inthe right
diagram to guarantee sufficient heat dissipation and to have
enough space for removing wires.
Suitable for mounting on concrete or other non-combustible surface
only.

Install the unit by screwing three screws. It’s recommended to use M4 or M5 screws.

Ring terminal:
For safety operation and regulation compliance, it’s requested to install
a separate DC over-current protector or disconnect device between
battery and inverter. It may not be requested to have a disconnect
device in some applications, however, it’s still requested to have
over-current protection installed. Please refer to typical amperage in
below table as required fuse or breaker size.
All wiring must be performed by a qualified person.
It's very important for system safety and efficient operation to use
appropriate cable for battery connection. To reduce risk of injury,
please use the proper recommended cable and terminal size as
below

Please follow below steps to implement battery connection:
1. Assemble battery ring terminal based on recommended battery cable and terminal size.
2. Connect all battery packs as units requires. It’s suggested to connect at least 200Ah capacity battery for
CPS3000ECH48A/CPS5000ECH48A/CPS5000ECH48A-P model.
3. Insert the ring terminal of battery cable flatly into battery connector of inverter and make sure the bolts are
tightened with torque of 2-3 Nm. Make sure polarity at both the battery and the inverter or charge is correctly
connected and ring terminals are tightly screwed to the battery terminals.
Do not place anything between the flat part of the inverter terminal and
the ring terminal. Otherwise, overheating may occur.
Do not apply anti-oxidant substance on the terminals before terminals
are connected tightly.
Before making the final DC connection or closing DC
breaker/disconnector, be sure positive (+) must be connected to positive
(+) and negative (-) must be connected to negative (-).

Installation must be performed with care due to high battery voltage in
series.

Please follow below steps to implement AC input/output connection:
1. Before making AC input/output connection, be sure to open DC protector or disconnector first.
2. Remove insulation sleeve 10mm for six conductors. And shorten phase L and neutral conductor N 3mm.
3. Insert AC input wires according to polarities indicated on terminal block and tighten the terminal screws. Be sure to
connect PE protective conductor first.
→Ground (yellow-green)
L→LINE (brown or black)
N→Neutral (blue)
4. Then, insert ACoutput wiresaccording to polarities indicated on terminal block and tighten terminal screws. Be sure
to connect PE protective conductor first.
→Ground (yellow-green)
L→LINE (brown or black)
N→Neutral (blue)
Before connecting to AC input power source, please install a separate AC
breaker between inverter and AC input power source. This will ensure the
inverter can be securely disconnected during maintenance and fully
protected from over current of AC input. The recommended spec of AC
breaker is 32A for 3KVA and 50A for 5KVA.
There are two terminal blocks with “IN” and “OUT” markings. Please do
NOT mis-connect input and output connectors.
All wiring must be performed by a qualified personnel.
It’s very important for system safety and efficient operation to use
appropriate cable for AC input connection. To reduce risk of injury, please
use the proper recommended cable size as below.
Be sure that AC power source is disconnected before attempting to
hardwire it to the unit.

PV Module Setup:
When useing PV modules, please be sure to consider below parameters:
1. Open circuit Voltage (Voc) of PV modules didn’t exceeds max. PV array open circuit voltage ofinverter.
2. Open circuit Voltage (Voc) of PV modules should be higher than min. battery voltage.

Important
Be sure to connect AC wires with correct polarity. If L and N wires are
connected reversely, it may cause utility short-circuited when these
inverters are worked in parallel operation.
Appliances such as air conditioner are required at least 2~3 minutes to
restart because it’s required to have enough time to balance refrigerant
gas inside of circuits. If a power shortage occurs and recovers in a short
time, it will cause damage to your connected appliances. To prevent this
kind of damage, please check with manufacturer of air conditioner that if
it’s equipped with time-delay function before installation. Otherwise,
this inverter will trigger overload fault and cut off output to protect your
appliance but sometimes it still causes internal damage to the air
conditioner.
Before connecting to PV modules, please install separately a DC circuit
breaker between inverter and PV modules.
All wiring must be performed by qualified personnel.

Please follow below steps to implement PV module connection:
1. Remove insulation sleeve 10 mm for positive and negative conductors.
2. Check correct polarity of connection cable from PV modules and PV input
connectors. Then, connect positive pole (+) of connection cable topositive pole (+)
of PV input connector. Connect negative pole (-) of connection cable to negative
pole (-) of PV input connector.
3. Make sure the wires are securely connected.
3.7 Final Assembly
After connecting all wiring, please put bottom cover back by screwing two screws as shown below.

3.8 Communication Connection
Please use supplied communication cable to connect to inverter and PC. Insert bundled CD into a computer and follow
on-screen instruction to install the monitoring software. For the detailed software operation, please check user
manual of software inside of CD.
3.9 Dry Contact Signal
There is one dry contact available on the rear panel.
When program 24 is set as “disable” (default setting), it could be used to deliver signal to external device when battery
voltage reaches warning level.

3.10 Parallel installation (Only CPS5000ECH48A-P available)
3.10.1 Parallel board installation
(Following steps just for some customers have installed the inverter, but later need to increase the parallel connection
function, so need install the parallel board by themselves.)
This installation steps are only applied to CPS5000ECH48A-P model.
Step 1: Remove wire cover by unscrewing all screws.
Step 2: Remove communication board by unscrewing two screws as below chart.
Step 3: Remove two screws as below chart and remove 2-pin and 14-pin cables. Take out the board under the
communication board.
Step 4: Remove two screws as below chart to take out cover of parallel communication.
Step 5: Install new parallel board with 2 screws tightly.

Step 6: Re-connect 2-pin and 14-pin to original position.

Step 7: Put communication board back to the unit.
Step 8: Put wire cover back to the unit. Now the inverter is providing parallel operation function.
3.10.2 Mounting the Unit
When installing multiple units, please follow below chart.
NOTE: For proper air circulation to dissipate heat, allow a clearance of approx. 20cm to the side and approx. 50 cm above and
below the unit. Be sure to install each unit in the same level.

3.10.3 Parallel Operation in Single phase (Only CPS5000ECH48A-P available)

3.10.4 Parallel Commissioning
Parallel in single phase
Step 1: Check the following requirements before commissioning:
 Correct wire connection
 Ensure all breakers in Line wires of load side are open and each Neutral wires of each unit are connected together.
Step 2: Turn on each unit and set “PAL” in LCD setting program 23 of each unit. And then shut down all units.
NOET: It’s necessary to turn off switch when setting LCD program. Otherwise, the setting cannot be programmed.
Step 3: Turn on each unit.

NOTE: Master and slave units are randomly defined.
Step 4: Switch on all AC breakers of Line wires in AC input. It’s better to have all inverters connect to utility at the same time. If
not, it will display warning 15.

Step 5: If there is no more fault alarm, the parallel system is completely installed.
Step 6: Please switch on all breakers of Line wires in load side. This system will start to provide power to the load.

3.10.5 Parallel Operation in Three phase (Only CPS5000ECH48A-P available)

All inverters must be connected to the same batteries and ensure each
group of cables from the inverters to the batteries in the same length.
Do not connect the current sharing cable between the inverters which
are in different phases. Otherwise, it may damage the inverters.
