THE 30A SHOWROOM CHARGER
The REDARC Showroom Charger by DEFA is based on modern switch-mode technology and
galvanic isolation. This charger represents the latest technology in long term battery maintenance
charging and will maximise the lifespan of your battery. The unit has been designed to charge
Lead Acid, AGM, EFB and GEL batteries up to approximately 250Ah and can maintain battery
charge continuously. The 30A Showroom Charger withstands parallel loads up to 30A while
charging the battery.

1. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS - THIS MANUAL CONTAINS IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE
30A SHOWROOM CHARGER.
2. RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES - PREVENT FLAMES AND SPARKS. WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF A LEAD-ACID
BATTERY IS DANGEROUS. BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE GASES DURING NORMAL OPERATION.
3. DISCONNECT MAINS SUPPLY BEFORE MAKING OR BREAKING CONNECTIONS TO THE BATTERY.
4. DO NOT OPERATE THE SYSTEM UNLESS YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS MANUAL AND THE
CHARGER IS SETUP AS PER THESE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
1. The system should not be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been instructed on how
to use the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the system.
2. This charger is designed for use with 12V LEAD ACID type batteries only, including AGM, EFB and GEL. The
charger should not be used for other battery types or for charging damaged or non-rechargeable batteries.
3. Do NOT alter or disassemble the system under any circumstances. All services or repairs must be returned
to REDARC for repair. Incorrect handling or reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire and may
void the unit warranty.
4. Lead and other chemicals used in batteries are toxic. Wash skin and hands thoroughly after working with
batteries.
5. The acid in the battery is corrosive and harmful. It damages clothes, metal and varnish. In case of spillage and
contact with skin, wash and rinse thoroughly with water and consult a doctor.
1. Do not connect cables in reverse polarity (e.g. RED clamp to B- and BLACK clamp to B+) even though the charge
output is protected against shortcircuiting and wrong connections.
2. To make sure the correct charging voltages are applied to the battery, the charging cables must not be
shortened or made longer.
