Thank you for purchasing this suction device from Dentsply Sirona.
The suction devices were specially developed for our products inLab
MC X5 and CEREC MC / MC X / MC XL Premium Package / Primemill
and offer you maximum safety and the best working conditions when
using a Dentsply Sirona system.
Improper handling and unintended use may lead to hazards and
damage. This is why we ask that you read through the operating
manual and adhere to it closely. Also pay attention to the safety
instructions to prevent personal injury and material damage.
Please read this document completely and follow the instructions
exactly. You should always keep it within reach. The original language
of this document is German.

1.4 Warranty and liability
Maintenance In the interest of the safety and health of users or third parties, it is
necessary that maintenance work is carried out at fixed time intervals to
ensure the operational safety and reliability of your product.
The operator must ensure the implementation of the maintenance work.
As a manufacturer of electro-medical equipment, we can consider
ourselves responsible for the safety characteristics of the device only if
maintenance and repairs are carried out only by us or by companies
authorized explicitly by us for this purpose and if components are
replaced with original spare parts in case of failure.
Exclusion of liability If the operator does not meet the obligation to carry out such
maintenance or fault messages are ignored, Sirona Dental Systems or
its authorized dealer does not assume any liability for damage caused.
1.5 Intended use
The suction system is used to extract dry, non-explosive dusts and
chips that emerge when processing various materials for the production
of dental aids and technologies and dentures. The suction system may
only be operated indoors. The suction system must not be used for any
other purpose.
This unit must not be used for any other purpose. If the unit is used for
any purpose other than the one mentioned above, it may be damaged.
Intended use also includes compliance with these Operating
Instructions and the relevant maintenance instructions.

If the instructions for operating the unit described in this document are
not observed, the intended protection of the user may be impaired.

Dry processing
In the event of dry processing without suction, dust can be created
from the materials being processed. Breathing in this dust can have
associated health risks.

➢ Dry processing is only permissible in conjunction with the CEREC
suction device 230V or 120V.

2.1 Basic safety information
2.1.1 Prerequisites
NOTE
Important information on building installation
The building installation must be performed by a qualified expert in
compliance with the national regulations. DIN VDE 0100-710 applies
in Germany.
NOTE
Restrictions regarding installation site
The system is not intended for operation in areas subject to explosion
hazards.
NOTE
Do not damage the unit!
The unit can be damaged if opened improperly.
It is expressly prohibited to open the unit with tools!
2.1.2 Operating
The suction system must only be operated with an integrated filter bag
and HEPA filter. Only the approved filter bags and HEPA filters may be
used (see "Spare parts and consumables [→26]").
CAUTION
Dry processing
Before using dry processing, verify the functioning, correct connection
and the tightness of the connections. All available suction openings
must be available.

Before dry processing, check that the CEREC suction device contains
a functioning HEPA fine-dust filter.
2.1.3 Maintenance and repair
As manufacturers of dental instruments and laboratory equipment, we
can assume responsibility for the safety properties of the unit only if the
following points are observed:
● The maintenance and repair of this unit may be performed only by
Dentsply Sirona or by agencies authorized by Dentsply Sirona.
● Components which have failed and influence the safety of the unit
must be replaced with original (OEM) spare parts.
● Only original cables may be used, so that EMC requirements are
met.

Please request a certificate whenever you have such work performed. It
should include:
● The type and scope of work.
● Any changes made in the rated parameters or working range.
● Date, name of company and signature.
2.1.4 Modifications to the product
Modifications to this product which may affect the safety of the operator,
patients or third parties are prohibited by law!
2.1.5 Accessories
In order to ensure product safety, this device may be operated only with
original Dentsply Sirona accessories or third-party accessories
expressly approved by Dentsply Sirona. In particular, only the power
cable also supplied or the corresponding original spare part may be
used with the unit. The user is responsible for any damage resulting
from the use of non-approved accessories.
2.1.6 In case of damage
In case of noticeable malfunctions or damage, stop using the instrument
immediately and notify your authorized dealer or the manufacturer.
2.2 Connecting the unit
The connection must be established in accordance with the directions
provided in these operating instructions. Also observe the information in
the Operating Instructions for inLab MC X5, CEREC MC / MC X, MC XL
Premium Package or CEREC Primemill devices.
If any devices not approved by Dentsply Sirona are connected, they
must comply with the applicable standards:
● EN 60 950 for information technology equipment, and
● EN 61 010-1 for laboratory equipment.
2.3 Ventilation slots
Under no circumstances may the ventilation slots on the unit be
covered, since otherwise the air circulation will be obstructed. This can
cause the unit to overheat.

The suction devices are intended for operation on the inLab MC X5 and
CEREC MC/MC X/MC XL Premium Package/Primemill processing
machines. The suction system is equipped with a special filter bag and
a HEPA micro filter of filter category H12, which filters fine dust up to
99.5% and is classified as fine dust category M.

4.1 Transport and unpacking
All products from Dentsply Sirona are carefully checked prior to
shipment. Please perform an incoming inspection immediately after
delivery.
1. Check the delivery note to ensure that the consignment is complete.
2. Check whether the product shows any visible signs of damage.
NOTE
Damage during transport
If the product was damaged during transport, please contact your
carrying agent.
If return shipment is required, please use the original packaging for
shipment.
4.2 Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging must be disposed of in compliance with the relevant
national regulations. Please observe the regulations applicable in your
country.
4.3 Installation conditions
4.3.1 Installation site requirements
The inLab MC X5 suction device requires an even base of approx.
400mm x 400mm (W x D).
The CEREC MC/MC X/MC XL Premium Package/Primemill suction
device requires an even base of approx. 360mm x 260mm (W x D).
Install the suction device in such a way that the main switch can be
pressed easily. To enable simple replacement of the filter and bag, we
recommend orientating the maintenance flap to the front with the two
knurled nuts. The ventilation slots on the bottom side and rear side of
the suction system must be kept unobstructed. The distance between
the back of the unit and the wall must at least be 30mm. If the suction
device is integrated in a cabinet, this must be vented sufficiently to
prevent the suction device from overheating.
The suction device must not be set up in the immediate vicinity of
considerable humidity development.

1. Connect one end of the suction tube to the available connection
point (A) on the suction device. The connection point is located on
the top side next to the control panel with the suction power
controller.
2. Connect the other end of the tube to the socket (B) on the rear side
of the processing machine. The figure shows an example of a
connection to the CEREC Primemill processing machine.
CAUTION
Trip/fall hazard
If the suction tube is routed poorly, there may be a risk of tripping.
➢ To prevent injuries caused by tripping, route the suction tube so
that there is no risk of tripping.
Notes on the suction tube:
The suction tube is supplied with a length of approx. 2.40m (inLab MC
X5) or 2.0m (CEREC MC/MC X/MC XL Premium Package/Primemill).
When connecting the suction device to the unit, please ensure that no
sharp bends occur over the full length of the suction tube.
Reduce the length of the tube according to your requirements and your
installation location. Note that suction power drops along the length of
the tube. You obtain decent suction power if the suction device is
placed immediately below the machine and you have a tube length of
1.20m or less.

4.4.2 Connecting the power cord
NOTE
Grounded power outlet
The unit must be connected to a grounded power outlet.
1. Insert the power cable into the relevant socket on the suction
system.
2. Plug the other end into an appropriate power socket with a
protective ground terminal.
Note on the power cable:
The suction system must only be operated with a power cable with a
plug system designed for the relevant country.
Check the voltage specification on the rating plate. The system must
conform to the country-specific supply voltage.
4.4.3 Connecting the interface cable (for automatic mode)

1. Plug the 15-pole connector into the socket (A) of the processing
machine. The figure shows an example of a connection to the
CEREC Primemill processing machine.
2. Plug the 9-pole connector into the socket (B) of the suction device.

5 Commissioning

5.1.1 Automatic mode
üThe interface cable is connected.
➢ Set the on/off switch to the position Auto.
Note on the automatic mode:
The production unit monitors the correct connection (interface cable and
suction tube) and the operation of the suction system during the running
processes.
5.1.2 Manual operation
NOTE
Manual mode only permitted for inLab MC X5. For CEREC MC/MC X/
MC XL Premium Package/Primemill only automatic mode is
supported.
1. Prior to commencing processing, set the on/off switch to the On
position.
2. Once processing has been completed, set the on/off switch to the
Off position.
5.1.3 Setting the suction power
inLab MC X5
➢ Set the suction power to the maximum (max).
CEREC MC/MC X/MC XL Premium Package/Primemill
➢ Set the suction power to the minimum (min). If required, the suction
power can be set to the maximum.
5.2 Repacking
1. Set the on/off switch to the position Off.
2. Remove the power plug, interface cable, and suction tube.
3. Check the suction device for completeness according to the scope
of supply.
4. Pack the device safely, ideally in the original transport packaging.
