Specific concentration recommendations to e individually adapted:
– Incisor restoration: approx. 80 % 씮20: 5 (ml)
– Premolar restoration: approx. 75 % 씮19: 6 (ml)
– Inlay, triple surface: approx. 85 % 씮21: 4 (ml)
– Inlay, double surface: approx. 90 % 씮22: 3 (ml)
– Inlay, single surface: approx. 90 % 씮22: 3 (ml)
– Veneer: approx. 85 % 씮21: 4 (ml)
Please note that many processing parameters (e.g. temperature, modelling material etc.) can influence
the fit and deviations from the aforementioned recommendations are therefore possible.
5 Mixin the ExtraStar Investment
Premix powder and liquid in a clean mixing bowl of a mixing unit for about 30 seconds (including period
of sprinkling by hand) with a clean spatula. Let the investment stand under vacuum for about 30 sec.
Next, mix under vacuum for about 60 sec.
When mixing ExtraStar Investment, please o serve the following:
The mixing ratio and mixing time are important for consistent results. We recommend that the mixing
ratios and times provided be complied with exactly. High vacuum in the mixing bowl determines quality;
only start the mixing procedure after waiting for a full vacuum display.
5.1 Investin
Lubricate carefully base former and ring leveller with vaseline. Place ring former on sprue base former.
While gently vibrating ring assembly, pour the vacuum-mixed investment into the ring, allowing the
investment to flow bubble free into and over wax patterns. Place the ring leveller device into the ring
former. The excess investment will be forced up and through the opening in the leveller device.
Placement of the leveller insures correct ring height, and proper alignment of the plunger and the ring.
After 10 minutes, the ring may be removed from the ring former. Be sure to remove the uneven nub
from end of ring with a knife, making sure you have a flat and even surface !
6 Burnout
ExtraStar is suitable for so-called rapid heating techniques. In order to achieve consistent results in this
heating procedure, please observe the following:
After 15 min., measured from the moment the powder and liquid are mixed together, the ring must be
placed immediately into the furnace preheated to 850 °C. Lean the ring against he back or side walls of
the oven at a 45° angle.
In order to achieve even heating of the ring, the holding time of 60 min. must be adhered to at the final
temperature.
