Description
TheJGX-502SprayGunisa conventionalairspray
gun, patternedaftertheJGAseries,whosefunctions
aresimilartostandardairspraygunmodels.Thegun
isavailableinthreetypes:gravity feed, suction feed,
andpressure feed, inordertocoverthewidestrange
ofapplications.
Withallareasofthefluidpassagesmadefromstain-
lesssteel,theJGX-502canbeusedwitha widerange
ofpaints,withtheonlyexceptionbeingthoseofa
highlycorrosiveand/orabrasivenature.Theuseof
suchmaterialswillrequirethoroughcleaningand
frequentpartreplacement.
AnyquestionsregardingtheoperationoftheJGX
SprayGunshouldbedirectedtousorourdistribu-tors
BEFOREuse.

Thisrepresentsa gunwitha number143Aircap,a
SizeFFFluidTip,andsetupforGravityFeed.
Operations
Beforeusingthegun,theneedlepacking,whichis
shippedloosetoavoidbinding,shouldbeadjusted.
Thepackinggland(Part#7)shouldbegradually
screwedclockwisewhiletriggeringthegunuptothe
pointwheretheneedledoesnotsmoothlyreturnto
theclosed-position.Atthispointthepackinggland
shouldbeslightlyloosenedbyscrewingitincounter-
clockwisesothattheneedlemovesfreely.
Adjusttheatomizingairpressuretothelowestlevel
possibleandcommensuratewithproperatomization
qualitydesired,tominimizeoversprayandmaximize
painttransferefficiency.
Thespraygunshouldbeusedatalltimesperpen-
diculartothesurfacetobecoatedata distanceof
150-200mm.
Maintenance
Thegunshouldbecleanedandlubricateddailyto
maintainitsoptimumperformance.Cleanthepaint
passagesthoroughlybysprayingsolventsthroughthe
gunafteruse.
Thegunbodyshouldneverbesoakedinthesolvent
forcleaning.Exteriorsurfaceshouldonlybewiped
withsolventdampenedrags.
Theaircapsshouldbedetachedfromthegnuand
soakedinthesolvent.
Usetoothpickstoremoveanypaintbuildupfromthe
aircapholes.NEVERusemetalobjectstocleanthe
aircapsinordertoavoiddamagetothefineholes,
whichwillcausethespraypatterntobecomedis-
torted.
Adropoflubricantshouldbeappliedregularlytothe
triggerbearingstud(#25),thestemoftheairvalve
assembly(#21),andtheneedlepackinggland(#7).For
optimumresultsuseSSL-10SprayGunOil.
TheNeedleSpring(#11)andtheAirValveSpring(#22)
shouldbelightlygreased.Donotlubricateorgrease
excessivelyinordertoavoidcloggingintheair
passages.
ReplacementofParts
Awrench(JGX-34)isprovidedwiththegun.
Whenreplacingthefluidtips,ensurethattheFluid
NeedleAdjustmentScrewisremoved,andalsoen-
surethattheSpreaderValveisinthefullyopen
(counterclockwise)position.
WhenevertheFluidInletNipple(#23)ortheAirInlet
Nipple(#28)arereplaced,a sealantmaterialsuchas
Loctite242,shouldbeappliedtothethreadbefore
insertingitintothegunbody.Thesamesealantshould
alsobeusedonthebodythreadoftheSpreader
Valve(#13)andtheCheaterValve(#27).
