Note: USB cable is for commissioning only and must be removed
before the cover is closed and the screws are tightened.
fConnect one end of the USB cable to the device and the other
end to a PC.
Remove the six screws securing the faceplate to the base and
carefully allow the faceplate to rest on its hinges.

Note: The screws that secure the faceplate and the mounting plate
are captive screws which cannot be completely removed. Only loosen
them enough to allow the faceplate and mounting plate to open and
rest on their hinges.
Note: Opening the box cannot be done in Class 1 Division 2 area.

gApply DC power to the module by ensuring that the locking
barrel jack is connected.

Disconnect the USB cable from both your PC and the ConnectPort X3 H module.

Congure Device (GSM Models Only)
ConnectPort X3 H models that use a GSM network for cellular service (that is, require a SIM card) must be ‘commissioned’ prior to operation.
Open the Digi X3 Dashboard. By default, it is located at Start > Digi > Digi X3 Dashboard > Digi X3 Dashboard.
Use the X3 Dashboard to congure ConnectPort X3 settings, such as the Mobile interface. To do so, go to the Mobile tab and
congure the Mobile Service Provider settings. Click OK to apply the changes.
Open Digi ESP for Python from the Desktop shortcut. On the Welcome screen, click on the First Steps icon and follow the steps in
Getting Started with ConnectPort® X Series.
To learn more about the Digi ESP for Python Integrated Development Environment (IDE), go to Help > Help Contents > Digi ESP for
Python and read the chapter. It explains in detail all the concepts, views, controls and components of the IDE.
