Introduction
DS3+ is a complete solution for remote start, security (when security features are enabled) and bypass. This guide provides
information on the installation of the module as a digital solution. Please refer to www.directechs.com for more information about
which configuration is best for your application.
Warning! This module can be configured using the web tool located at www.directechs.com. The DS3/DS3+ module is not
equipped with Bluetooth, therefore the blue LED will not flash during module programming or when performing a soft or hard reset.
DS4+ is a complete solution for remote start, security (when security features are enabled), bypass, and features
built in Bluetooth 4.0 allowing you to configure and control your system. This guide provides information on the
installation of the module as a digital solution. Please refer to the DirectLink application or www.directechs.com
for more information about which configuration is best for your application.
Warning! This module is designed to be configured using the DirectLink application for mobile devices,
however it can also be configured using the web tool located at www.directechs.com. To download the DirectLink mobile
application, please visit the Google Play or Apple store.

Pre-installation and application warnings
Firmware notes: This section highlights important information for this specific firmware and will assist in
pricing accordingly, as well as bringing awareness to any operational or vehicle limitations.

Warning! No takeover feature is available on Push-to-Start vehicles.
The keyless and Smart Key will remain functional during remote start.
All Hybrid vehicles: for best results, set Engine Checking to OFF when flashing.
If the vehicle is already equipped with an OEM remote starter, the installer must disconnect it before installing the DS4 plus
module, otherwise it will not program.
The optional Plug & Play THTON6 T-Harness is sold separately.
Important! All T-Harness wires NOT listed in the diagram are NOT required for the installation. Loose wires such as Siren
Output and Hood Input may need to be pulled from the tapped section of the T-Harness. Refer to the “Wiring diagram with
T-Harness” for more information on connections and installation instructions.
All T-Harness wires NOT listed in the diagram are NOT required for the installation.
Unless specified otherwise, all connectors are displayed from the wire side, with the exception of the OBDII diagnostic
connector.
It is important to check that the fuses are positioned correctly in the module. Proper fuse positioning is displayed on each
wiring diagram.
Refer to the "Vehicle connections" following the installation diagram.
General notes: This section highlights important information for this specific firmware.
[1] The installation of an aftermarket hood pin is ONLY required on vehicles that are NOT equipped with a factory hood pin.
[2] The siren is ONLY required when enabling the security features during module flashing.
[3] Connection required ONLY if Pit-Stop/Idle mode is desired.
[4] For Security Only Installations, refer to 'Locating components in the vehicle' for the optional starter disable connection.

OEM remote starter detection
If the vehicle has an active OEM remote starter it will program into convenience only (no immobilizer bypass). The reason for this
is to allow aftermarket security to be installed while keeping the factory remote starter active. If you wish for the interface to control
the remote start sequence, perform one of the following:
If the vehicle is equipped with an Add-On Lexus/Toyota OEM remote starter:
Some Lexus/Toyota vehicles may have an Add-On remote starter. If the OEM unit is installed, whether Active or Inactive, it MUST
be permanently disconnected, as both modules cannot coexist. Refer to 'Physical OEM remote start locations" in the chart below
and always physically inspect and disconnect any OEM remote starter before programming any Directed products.

If the vehicle is equipped with a BCM Enabled Lexus/Toyota OEM remote starter:
The vehicle does not have a physical remote starter and only one module can be programed at a time. In this case temporarily
disable the OEM remote start system using the following process:
1. Remove the fuse powering the OEM Remote Starter. See "OEM remote start fuse location"
2. Perform a "Soft reset" or "Hard reset".
3. Perform the "Module programming".
4. After programming is successful, re-insert the fuse powering the OEM Remote Starter.
