Do not abuse the cord. Never carry
the charger or base by the cord or
yank to disconnect from an outlet;
insteadgraspthe charger andpullto
disconnect. Keep cord away from
heated surfaces. Do not pull cord
around sharp edges or corners. Do
not close door on the charger cord.
Do not handleplugor appliance with
wet hands.
This product includes rechargeable
nickel cadmium batteries. Do not
incinerate batteries or expose to
high temperatures, as they may
explode.
Unplug the charger from the outlet
before any routine cleaning or
maintenance.
Do not put any object into openings.
Do not use with any opening
blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair,
and anything that may reduce
air flow.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers,
and all parts of body away from
openings and moving parts.
Do not pick up anythingthat is burn-
ing or smoking, such as cigarettes,
matches, or hot ashes.
Do not use without filters in place.
Turn off allcontrolsbefore unplugging.
Use extra care when cleaning
on stairs.
Do not use to pick up flammable or
combustible liquidssuch as gasoline
or use in areas where they may be
present.
Leaks from battery cells can occur
under extreme conditions. If the liq-
uid, which is 20-35% solution of
potassium hydroxide, gets on the
skin (1) wash quickly with soap and
water or (2) neutralize with a mild
acid such as lemon juice or vinegar.
If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush
them immediately with clean water
for a minimum of 10 minutes. Seek
medical attention.

Tools Required: Screwdriver and drill.
A. CHARGINGISTORAGE BASE
For tidy storage, wrap excess cord on the back of the
chargingbase and exit throughthe top, bottom, or out
one of the sides (Diagram 1).
To Wall Mount (Diagram 2):
1. Place charging base against the mounting
surface. Mark the centersof the holes.
2. Movebase, then drill a 311 6 holethrough
the center of the marks.
3. Push plasticwall anchor into the
drilled hole.
4. Be sure markedlocationis correct before
drillingthe second hole (adjust if neces-
sary). Drill second hole and installother
wall anchor.
5. Match up holes in storage base to wall
anchors and insertscrews. Be sure cord
exitsfrom one of the cord slots on the
storage base.
6. Tightenthe screws to holdthe baseflush
to the mountingsurface.
Tool Storage:
1. The crevice tool and *squeegee can be placed in
their appropriateholdingslots on the chargingbase
(Diagram3).

A. CHARGING
Designed to charge when vertically mounted on the
wall or when placedon countertop, shelf, or other flat
surface.
1. Power switch must be in the OFF positionwhen
charging.
2. Insertthe charger plug intothe wall power outlet.
3. Place the vacuum cleaner onto the charginglstor-
age base (Diagram 1).
The indicator light will come on to indicatethat
the appliance is charging (Diagram
2).
The indicator light will be on as long as the appliance
isconnectedto the charginglstorage base andthe plug
is inthe wall outlet.
* The indicator liaht does not aive anv information
about the charge level of the built-inbatteries.
NOTE: Useonly the charger suppliedby the manu-
facturer to recharge.
IMPORTANT: BEFORE FIRST USE, CHARGE YOUR UNIT FOR AT LEAST 24
HOURS.
Keepthe charger pluggedintoa standard outlet at alltimes. It is normalfor the charg-
er to become warm to the touch when charging.
If the operatingtime gets shorter after repeateduse, leavethe uniton untilitstops run-
ning. Rechargefor
24 hours and repeat monthly for best results.
The crevice tool and *squeegeeare convenientlystored on the charging base.

To use, insertcrevicetool into nozzle
opening (Diagram 1a).
*Squeegee: Necessary for pickingup liquids.
Makesure the *deflectoris tightly placed
inthe dirt cup,then insert*squeegee into
nozzleopening (Diagram
I b).

To use: Slide the switch to level Ifor normalsuction
power. Slide it to level IIfor turbo suction power
(Diagram 1).
To turn unitoff: Slidethe powerswitchto the off position.
Emptyand clean the unit and filter after each use or after
large pick-upswhen the unit becomesfull.
1. Be sure *deflector is tightly placed in the dirt cup.
2. Stop pickingup liquidswhen the liquid level insidethe
dust cup has reachedthe fill line (Diagram1).
3. DO NOT holdthe appliance with its nozzle pointing
upwards, as this would cause liquidto enter the appli-
ance and damage the parts inside (Diagram2).
4. Empty the dust cup each time you have usedthe
appliance to pick up a liquid.

1. Depressdirt cup release button and pull nozzle away
from unit (Diagram 1).
2. Hold nozzleover a wastebasket. Grasp filter by
placingfinger inthe center and pull'straight out.
Emptyfilter and dirt cup (Diagram 2).
*Wet/Dry modelsonly: Remove the *deflector andfilter
from the dirt cup (Diagram2a). Dump liquidwaste down
a drain or dirt into a wastebasket.
If necessary,cleanthe dirt cup,the *deflector andthe filter
with cold or lukewarmwater. The dirt cup and *deflector
may also be cleaned in a dishwasher.
IMPORTANT: Besure filter anddirt cup are completely
dry before next dry pick up use.

NOTE: For bestperformance, replace filter periodically or when filter has been
damaged.
1. Slide the ring holdingthe edge of the filter upward
and remove the old filter (Diagram 1).
2. Slide the newfilter ontothe filter frame (Diagram 2).
3. Pushthe ringdown to fasten the filter (Diagram3).
4. Pushthe tip of the dustbag inwards (Diagram 4).

& Canada).

Removethe batterieswhenyoudiscardthe appliance. DO NOT
throw the batteriesaway with the normal household waste, but

Only removethe batteries if they are completelyempty.

2. Cut the connectingwires one by one and removethe batter-

To the consumer, Royal Appliance Mfg. Co. warrants this vacuum cleaner to be free of defects in
material or workmanship commencing upon the date of the original purchase. Referto your vac-
uum cleaner carton for the length of warranty and save your original sales receipt tovalidate start
of warranty period.
If the vacuum cleaner should become defective within the warranty period, we will repair or replace any
defectivepartsfreeof charge. The completemachinemustbe delivered-to any ROYALaAuthorized
Sales &Warranty Service Station. Please include complete description of the problem, day of pur-
chase, copy of original sales receipt and your name, address and telephone number. If you are
not near a Warranty Station, call the factory for assistance inthe USA
& Canada: 1-800-321-1134.
Use only genuine Royala replacement parts.
The warranty does not include unusualwear, damage resulting from accident or unreasonable use
of the vacuum cleaner. This warranty does not cover belts, brushes, bags, filters, bulbs or fan
damage. This warranty does not cover unauthorized repairs. This warranty gives you specific
legal rights and you may also have other rights. (Other rights may vary from state to state inthe
