About this manual
Be sure to connect the color-coded leads
according to the diagram. Incorrect
connections may cause the unit to
,
malfunction or damage the vehicle s
electrical system.

Be sure to connect the speaker (-) leads
to the speaker (-) terminal. Never connect
the left and right channel speaker cables
to each other or to the vehicle body.

Make sure all the connections are completely
correct before turning on your unit.

When replacing the fuse(s), the replacement
must be of the same amperage as shown
on the fuse holder.

Do not block vents or radiator panels as
that would cause heat to build up inside
the unit could result in fire.

The interface has been designed for the
easiest possible use, but many functions
are not self-explanatory, so please take
the time to review this manual.

Before You Start
Do not use discs that have either wet
ink or residue from stickers or labels.
Do not attempt to service or mo-
dify the unit, which could result
in injury or damage.
Stop the vehicle before carrying
out any operation that could
interfere with your driving.
Do not work in extremely high or
low temperature. Be sure the
temperature inside the vehicle
is between +140 F and +14 F
before turning on your unit .
To enjoy the highest audio and
video quality, handle discs as
follows:
Do not use your CDs with paste residue
or ink attached.
Do not use discs with labels or stickers
attached, which may release sticky residue
as they begin to peel off.
Clean the discs with an non-abrasive
cleaning cloth. Wipe each disc from the
center out.

Selecting CAPTURED will set the wallpaper

Replacing the Fuse
If a fuse is blown, disconnect the unit s
power, replace the fuse, then reconnect
the power. Make sure the amperage of
the new fuse matches that of the old fuse.
If the fuse blows soon after replacement,
the unit may be malfunctioning, in which
case the unit should be checked by a
service dealer.
Gently pull out the Battery Holder while
pressing the Stopper.
Insert the battery into the battery holder with
the (+) mark facing upward.

Insert the Battery Holder into the Remote
Control.

Maintenance
Warning
Never use a fuse with an amperage rating
higher than the fuse supplied with your unit.
A higher-rated fuse will not protect the unit
from electrical surges which will likely result
in electrical damage to the unit.
Battery Precautions
Always keep the lithium battery beyond
childrens reach. If a battery is ever
swallowed, seek medical attention
immediately.
Clean the battery with a dry cloth
to maximize connectivity.
Ensure the correct polarity when loading the
battery.
To prevent short circuit, do not use
metal tweezer to clip the battery.
Warning!
Improper handling of the battery
may lead to malfunction or damage
of the battery. It cannot be charged,
disassembled or thrown into a fire.

When the range of the remote control
becomes short, or the remote stops
functioning, please replace the battery.
The remote uses the button-type
battery CR2025. Ensure the correct
polarity when replacing.

Scanning/Storing Stations
Automatically
In radio mode, briefly press the AMS button
on the remote control to listen each of your
stored station for five seconds.
To quit the scan, simply press the number
button corresponding to the station to which
you would like to listen.
To have the radio automatically discover radio
stations and assign them to the number buttons,
press and hold the AMS button on the remote
or the radio. The radio can store up to six
stations on each band setting.
Number Buttons
In radio mode, you can assign a radio station
to a number button by pressing and holding
one of the six numbers that stored stations
on the remote control.
The message CH n, where nis a number,
indicates the station was saved sucessfully.
Selecting Station Directly
You can use the remote control to tune the
radio to a specific frequency. Simply press
the GOTO button, and when FR appears on
the display, enter the frequency.

iPod the unit will only transmit the AUDIO

When removing an IPOD while the unit

On-Screen Display
During IPOD playback, pressing and holding
the on-screen display (OSD) button on the
remote control displays the current source
information.
Playing Tracks Random Orderin
During IPOD playback, after pressing
RDM on the remote, Shuffle off, Shuffle
Track, Shuffle Album will be activated.

Playing the IPOD
During IPOD playback, connect the IPOD
wire(5V) to the IPOD Wire Input on the
backside of the main unit. The unit will now
play your IPOD on the main unit, allowing
you to control the IPOD through the DP318AP. 1

Capturing Pictures for Wallpaper
While in MP3/USB/SD mode, press the
[P/N]/ button on the remote to set the current
picture as the wallpaper.
Disconnecting USB devices
When disconnecting a USB devices while
in USB mode, the unit will switch to radio
mode.
When disconnecting a USB device
while the unit is any other mode, the unit
will simply remain in the same mode.
After removing a USB plug, keep the USB
port clean by using rubber inserts.

Ejecting an SD Card
Push the SD card to eject it.
When removing an SD card while in SD
mode, the unit will switch to radio mode.
When removing an SD card while the unit

Program Playing
While in VCD/CD mode, you can program
the playback sequence of your choice as
follows:
1. Press PROG on the remote to display the
program menu.
2. Use the number buttons to select tracks.
3. Press button to move the cursor to
START, then press ENTER to start playing
your sequence.
To stop playing your program, move the
cursor to EXIT and press ENTER.
You can always cancel the program by
pressing PROG or the stop button.
Using VCD Menus
Some VCDs are created with interactive
menus that allow you to play tracks in the
order of your choice, rather than simply
playing the whole disc through from the
beginning. Using the menu is a mode in itself
called PBC mode, which stands for playback
control.
To enter or exit PBC mode, simply press the
TITLE button. While viewing the disc menu,
use the number buttons to select a track, and
you can return to the VCD menu anytime by
pressing the MENU button on the remote.
Note:
VCD menus(or PBC) conforms version 2.0 of
SVCD/VCD disc only.

Setting Playback Duration
You can use the remote control to stop play-
back after a certain amount of time, which
some people may refer to as sleep function.
In CD mode, press GOTO,and the display
shows : disc go to:--:--, press your desired
time of the playback by using number buttons.
Secondly press GOTO button, track go to
:--:-- appears on the display, also input your
desired numbers to play the current time of
your selection.

In VCD mode, press GOTO button to set
the playing time, which will display :

Changing Audio Language
(Multi-audio)
MPEG-4 files can contain multiple audio
tracks, often for the purpose of containing
the same audio content in different languages.
When listening to such a disc, press
AUDIO on the remote control to switch
between audio tracks.
* The number in the mark on a MPEG-4
package indicates the number of recorded
languages/audio tracks.

previous track, press to play the next track.

Playing Discs/USB/SD
To play a disc, insert it labeled side up into
the disc loading slot. If the unit is off, loading
a disc will turn the unit on automatically.
When the disc is loaded, press the
MODE button to begin playback.
To play media on a USB device, remove
rubber inserts from the unit, plug the USB
device into the unit, and the playback will
begin automatically.
To play files on an SD Card, press
to release the front panel and insert the SD
card into the SD slot. Playback of the files
on the SD card will start automatically.
Pressing MOD on the main unit also performs
the same function as the MODE button.

Cleaning the Connector
If the connector between the main unit and the
front panel is dirty, the unit may not function
correctly. To avoid malfunctions, periodically
detach the front panel and clean the connector
with an swab.alcohol

Setting the Sound Characteristics
The volume can be increased or decreased
with the VOL buttons on the remote control,
or the VOL dial on the unit.
You can set the following sound characteristics:

Turning the Unit On or Off
Press the power button (PWR) to turn on.
Inserting a disc will also turn the unit on

To do so, press SEL on the remote control,
then adjust each setting with the VOL buttons.
If you don t adjust VOL buttons within 3
seconds after selecting the desired mode,
the unit will automatically return to the
current mode being displayed.
The same can be done by (a) pressing SEL

or, (b) setting AUDIO SETUP in MAIN
MENU.

Night Mode
In night mode, the blue screen is off and
the button-light is dimmed. Press and hold
the stop/night ( ) mode button on either
the unit or the remote to enter night mode.
Pressing the button again returns the unit
to normal mode.
Display Mode
Aspect ratio is the width of a video, relative
to its height. Standard TVs in the USA are
4:3, while movies are higher ratios, such as
16:9. During video playback, press and hold
the ZOOM button to select 4:3 display mode;
then press it again to display the normal mode.
* You can also set WIDE in MAIN MENU.
Note:
If you have a portable media player that you
would like to listen to through your car stereo,
then plug it into the A/V jack on the unit.

the disc to eject.

Turning Loudness On or Off
The loudness function increases the volume
of low frequency sounds. To use the loudness
function, press LOUD on the remote control
or LOU on the main unit. When the loudness
function is activated, the display reads LOUD
ON. Press either of the same buttons to turn
loudness off (which will display LOUD OFF).
Note:
* You can also set LOUDNESS in MAIN MENU.

In DVD mode, press SETUP to display
the system setting picture and begin setting
options that will remain constant, such as
the default language, etc. Options are browsed
and selected using the arrow buttons and
ENTER on the remote control.
* The settings you configure will be chosen if
they are available on a disc. If the disc does
not have the preferred options, then the disc s
default settings will be used.
