INTRODUCTION
Indications for Use
The PureFill™ Oxygen Compressor is indicated to supply pressurized oxygen to fill gas
cylinders for the patient’s personal ambulatory use. The device is not intended to be life
supporting or life sustaining.
Environment of use: Sub-acute care facilities and home settings
This device is not, intended to be life supporting or life sustaining, nor is the combination of
this device and an oxygen concentrator.
PureFill™ Oxygen Compressor System Description
The PureFill™ Oxygen Compressor is an electrically operated unit which fills pressurized
cylinders with concentrated oxygen produced by an oxygen concentrator. Although the
PureFill™ is recommended to be used with the oxygen sensing Drive Pure Oxygen Concen-
trator, Model CH5000S, the PureFill™ is designed to function with any oxygen sensing con-
centrator on the market, with appropriate connections. Your PureFill™ Oxygen Compressor
is isolated from the supply mains via an appliance coupler. This is the detachable cord that
comes with the unit.
A physician has prescribed supplemental oxygen because you are not getting enough
oxygen from room air alone. Through oxygen tubing, the PureFill™ is attached to the Pure
Concentrator which creates concentrated oxygen from room air. The Pure Oxygen Concen-
trator is designed as a stationary supplemental oxygen source. The PureFill™ compresses
the created oxygen into a cylinder at high pressure. This cylinder may then be disconnected
from the PureFill™ and used, in conjunction with an oxygen conserver or regulator, for oxygen
therapy during patient ambulation.

WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to a supply
mains with protective earth
• The PureFill™ Oxygen Compressor is equipped with a detachable cord. Do not position
the equipment so that it is dicult to operate this disconnection device.
• If while using the system you experience any discomfort or signs of any unusual physical
symptoms, contact your physician immediately
• Oxygen can promote rapid burning when exposed to an open flame. Do not allow any
smoking objects or open flames near this unit.
• Do not use any oil, grease, or petroleum-based products on or near this unit.
• Do not smoke while the device is in use.
• Protect the device against the spillage of fluids on or around it. Do not place drinks on it.
Do not allow fluids to come in contact with the device. If fluids do come in contact with
the device, contact your service representative.
• Do not set any objects on, or allow to be draped over, the PureFill™ system as they may
block air flow into the device. Place the unit in a ventilated location with the sides and
rear two feet away from any object.
• Do not allow minors or children to operate the PureFill™ system. Do not allow unsuper-
vised children to play on or near the device.
• To prevent an accidental tip over, do not attempt to move the PureFill™ when it is con-
nected to a cylinder.
• Do not use the PureFill™ System if either the plug or power cord is damaged. Do not use
an extension cord with the PureFill™ System.
• Do not connect the PureFill™ System to an electrical outlet controlled by a wall switch or
ground fault interrupter.
• Make sure there is no other high power device such as a TV, stereo, computer; radio
transmitter; space heater, hair dryer, refrigerator, microwave oven, electrical range, or
other large appliance connected to this outlet.
• Electrical shock hazard: Do not remove the cabinet of the PureFill™ Station. The removal
of the cabinet should only be performed by Drive Medical or a trained representative.
• Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet before cleaning the housing of the
PureFill™ Station.
• This equipment complies with IEC 60601-1-2 for electromagnetic compatibility for medical
electrical equipment and/or systems. This standard is designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a typical medical installation. However, be-
cause of the proliferation of radio-frequency transmitting equipment and other sources
of electrical noise in health care and other environments, it is possible that high levels of
such interference due to close proximity or strength of a source might disrupt the perfor-
mance of this device. Medical electrical equipment needs special precautions regarding
EMC, and all equipment must be installed and put into service according to the EMC
information specified in this manual.
• Take precautions to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD). Precautionary procedures
include methods to prevent buildup of electrostatic discharge (e.g., air conditioning,
humidification, conductive floor coverings, and non-synthetic clothing), discharging one’s
body to the frame of the equipment or system or to earth or a large metal object, and

bonding oneself by means of a wrist strap to the equipment or system, or to earth.
• All cylinders must be inspected before attempting to fill. Otherwise, injury or damage may
occur.
• Do not fill cylinders that have not been tested in the past 5 years. Otherwise, serious
personal injury may result. Contact your dealer for replacement.
• Never use tools of any kind to disconnect the cylinder from the PureFill™ system. Other-
wise, severe injury and/or damage may occur.
• Do not drop oxygen cylinders. Use two hands when handling/transporting oxygen cylin-
ders. Otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
• Do not use a liquid leak detector to test for leaks.
• No modification of this equipment is permitted.
PureFill™ Compatibility with Oxygen Devices
The PureFill™ Compressor is compatible with the following devices.
Concentrators
• Drive Medical™ Pure Oxygen Concentrator with oxygen sensing, Model CH5000S.
• Any concentrator which will supply a minimum flow of 2 LPM with a inlet pressure of 14 –
30 psi and are equipped with an oxygen sensor to verify 90% min oxygen concentration.
Integrated Conserving Devices
• The Drive PureFill™ Compressor may be supplied with an INT-812 Bonsai® Velocity oxy-
gen conserver. The INT-812 is an OM-812 oxygen conserver, integrated with a 2000 PSI
(135 bar) aluminum oxygen cylinder which has a compatible oxygen fill port valve for the
PureFill™ Compressor.

Initial Set up
Control Panel Description
Description Color Function
Power Light Green LED With the Power Button in the I position, the green
LED will remain illuminated.
System Warning Yellow LED Indicates system warning. Refer to the section,
Alarms and Troubleshooting.
System Fault Red LED Indicates system fault. Refer to the section, Alarms
and Troubleshooting.
Fill Level Green LED Indicates fill progress of a cylinder. A flashing LED
indicates the current stage of the fill cycle.
Start/Stop Fill Black Begins or ends the cylinder fill function.
Preparing the PureFill™
• Set the PureFill™ on a flat surface or near to your oxygen concentrator and an outlet.
• Be sure your PureFill™ system is in a well ventilated room with adequate space on the
side and the rear of the device. A minimum safe distance of 24 inches (60.96 cm) from
objects which may obstruct the ventilation of the PureFill™ is recommended.
• Plug your PureFill™ system into a standard 115V outlet. Do not connect your PureFill™
system to an extension cord, an outlet controlled by a wall switch, or an outlet in which
another large high powered appliance is drawing electricity.
Connect your PureFill™ to your Pure Concentrator
Choose a location at least twenty four inches (60.96 cm) from any obstruction such as furni-
ture, a wall, or drapery.
1. Make sure the PureFill™ power switch is in the O
position, (O) symbol.
2. Plug the electrical cord into the back of the PureFill™
3. Plug the other end of the electrical cord into a 115v
wall outlet.
4. Connect the tubing to the Tubing Input
Connection.
5. Connect the other end of the tubing to the Pure Con-
centrator PureFill™ output connection.
Note: Be sure the Pure Concentrator is operating with the
green Normal Oxygen LED light illuminated. If not using
the Drive Pure Concentrator, be sure the concentrator is an
oxygen sensing unit, with a transfill supply tube port which
has an input pressure of 14-30 PSI, and is operating in the
Normal Oxygen level range.

Connect your Cylinder to your PureFill™
Caution: Examine your cylinder and the connector to ensure it is free from
• Dents
• Ruptures
• Discoloration due to thermal damage
• Oil or grease
• Any other factors which may obstruct proper and safe filling and use
If found, do not use. Contact your homecare provider for a replacement cylinder.
1. Turn the Power Button to the On (I) position.
a. All LED’s should light for two seconds and an audible alarm should sound for
two seconds.
2. Check to verify the oxygen conserver or regulator on your cylinder is in the o position
a. If filling a cylinder without a conserver or regulator, verify the cylinder valve is completely
closed to ensure the cylinder fills properly .
3. Remove any protective caps, if present, on the oxygen cylinder and on the Cylinder Fill Port
on the PureFill™. When not in use, replace the protective caps to avoid dust and dirt buildup.
4. Line up the cylinder fill connector, the Cylinder Cradle, and the Cylinder Fill Port.
5. With one hand, grasp the outer sleeve of the Cylinder
Fill Port and push down. Green dots around the
outside of the port will be visible when the
port is ready to be paired with a cylinder.
6. Gently pair the cylinder fill connector
and the Cylinder Fill Port of the Cylinder
Fill Port and rest the cylinder onto the
Cylinder Cradle.

The cylinder should now be
secured to the PureFill™ system
via the Cylinder Fill Port.
Filling your Cylinder with your PureFill™ System
1. Press the Fill Button to begin to fill your oxygen cylinder.
2. As the cylinder fills, the LED’s on your PureFill™ will begin to blink to show filling progress
a. The maximum PSI the PureFill™ will fill a cylinder is 2000 PSI.
b. The PureFill™ will automatically shut o when the cylinder reaches 2000PSI.

3. Turn the Power Button to the O (O) position.
Note: A solid red FAULT LED will light if the pressure exceeds 2200 PSI. The pump will
automatically shut o.
Disconnecting your Cylinder from your PureFill™ System
1. With the Power Button in the O (O) position, press down on the sleeve of the Cylinder
Fill Port to release the cylinder.
2. Lift the cylinder until the cylinder fill connector clears the top of the Cylinder Fill Port.
3. Release the sleeve of the Cylinder Fill Port and use two hands to transfer the cylinder
from the PureFill™ Cradle.
Note: To fill additional cylinders, repeat the previous steps in the PureFill™ Operation section.
PureFill™ Cleaning and Maintenance
Before cleaning the PureFill™ system, be sure the Power Button is O (O) and the device is
no longer connected to a wall outlet.
1. Use a damp cloth with a mild household detergent to wipe down the outside of the Pure-
Fill™.
a. Avoid using excessive quantities of water.
2. Use a dry cloth to wipe dry.

WARRANTY
The Pure Oxygen Concentrator has been carefully manufactured and inspected in our Le-
high Acres, FL USA facility and is warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and ma-
terials. Under this warranty, Drive Medical and its subsidiaries obligation shall be limited to
the replacement or repair of any such units or parts that prove, by Drive Medical’s inspection
to be defective within three years, or 3000 hours, from original date of purchase. This war-
ranty is not transferable or assignable to any subsequent purchaser or owner. Any abuse,
operation other than the intended use of the product as outlined in the manual, negligence,
accident or repair by someone other than a Drive Medical Authorized Service Professional,
shall immediately void this warranty.
Drive Medical will not accept damages or charges for labor, parts, or expenses incurred in
making field repairs, except upon written authorization prior to such action.
The foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other expressed warranties. Implied
warranties, if any, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and
fitness for a particular purpose, shall not extend beyond the duration of the express warranty
provided herein. In no event shall Drive Medical or its subsidiaries be liable for loss of use or
profit or other collateral, special or consequential damages.
