1.Volume+button -Press toincrease the volume.

(c)In FM radiomode, pressto preset and storetheFM frequencystations.

fully plugand play.Foroldercomputers running on Windows 98SE, youwill need
toinstall driversfromthesupplied disc.ForWindows95 or earlier users,this set
will notwork and we recommend you upgrade youroperating systemandgeta
computer with aUSBport.

4Firmware Upgrade.
WARNING: Usefirmware upgrade ONLY iftheMP3player cannot operate properly
due to damaged/missing systemsoftware.
a.ConnecttheMP3playerto yourcomputer(see next page).
NOTE: Before youperform firmware upgrade, please backup thedata on the
flash memory.The data in the flashmemory willbe erased.
b.Click the “FirmwareUpgrade”button, followthesoftware upgrade instructions.Do
not disconnect the MP3playerduringupgrade.
c.Safely disconnect the MP3 playerfrom the computer afterupgrade(seepage 13).
NOTE: No driveris requiredforWindowsMe,XP,2000orMacOS X10.2.6or above.
5 InstallWindowsMedia Player 9.0.
If you havenotinstalled Windows MediaPlayer 9.0 (or later), you willbe promptedto
install orupdate yourcurrentversion.(Details ofWindowsMedia Player 9.0 onPages
20-22).

3When the cableis properlyconnected and the computer successfullyrecognizes the
MP-356,theplayer willdisplay “Usb ”on the LCD display.
4Youarenow readytocopymusicfiles ordatatotheplayer.Itwilldisplay “Down”
when downloading (when you copy music filesfrom computer to player), and displays
“Up”when uploading(when you copy filesfrom playertocomputer).
Both PC or Macusersmustusethe USBcable(included) to connect theplayerand
computerbeforeyoucandownloadorupload musicfiles tothecomputer.
1ConnectthesmallerplugoftheUSBcable tothemini-USB port on the playerasshown.
Plug only fitsoneway,iftheplugdoes not matchthemini-USBport, don’tforce it,
justreverseitandtryagain.

2.Click “My Computer”icon onyour Windows desktop, and it will
show upasa “Removable Disk”on the Desktop oftheWindows.

memory. “Removable Disk”is SD/
MMCmemorycard. When SD/MMC
cardisinstalled, you can openit
andtransfer musicor datato it.
4.Just simplycopyandpaste files
totheplayer or deletethefiles by
using commonWindowsoperation
orFile Manager.
5When youhave finishedcopying
the files, see chapter 2-6.

NOTE2: Ifyoucannot downloadmusic from the web siteto the MP3 player directly,please
download the musicto the computerandthencopy the musicto the MP3 player.
NOTE3: This playercan also be used as a removable drive (also knownas a USBflash
drive). You candrag and dropfilesinto the player.(Upto the limitof about
256MBforinternalmemoryor the capacityof the installedSD/MMCcard.)
NOTE 4: IfyouareunabletotransferfilestotheSD/MMCcardandyouarecertain
there’savailable space, try copying thefiles to afolder instead of the root
directory.

clickon themouse (press the mouseright button) and thenclick on “Properties”.A

ForWindows Me/2000/XPusers, theplayer can bedisconnected safelyas follows:
1.Click the “Safely RemoveHardware”iconin the Windows Toolbar (on the bottomright
cornerneartheclock iconon yourcomputer).
2.From the list of Hardware Devices,select the player.
3.Click “Stop”button.
4.Click “OK”to confirm.
5.Click “Close”afterfinished.
6.Now,it issafetodisconnect the player.
NOTE: Donotunplugtheplayer whilethere isdata transferring between the player and the
computerorsomedata may belost.

Toturn the player off, press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button to stop the playback
first, thencontinuepressing and holding the PLAY/PAUSE buttonuntil the icon “Bye!”
appears in the display.

•When you turn the player on, it will auto playbackthebuilt-in memory’smusicif you
havealreadycopiedanymusic into yourMP3player (or itwill play the 2demo songsincluded).
•Toadjust the Volume, presstheVOLUME –orVOLUME+button.
•Ifan SD/MMC card is already inserted into the MP3 player,when you turn the
player on, itwillplaythe musicon the card automatically,refer to 3-6.Usingan
External SD/MMCMemoryCard onpage 17.
•To skip toyour favorite musicduringplay,presstheNEXT orPREVIOUS
button.
•To fast forward themusic,press and hold theNEXT button.
•To rewind the music,press and holdthePREVIOUS button.
3-4. Locking the Buttons
Topreventthe accidentalpressing of
the buttons,slide the lockbutton to
the locked position, the lock icon
willappearin the display.All the buttons
will be locked and disabled till youslide
the lock button to the unlocked
position. This prevents accidental
playingwhile the MP3 playeris in your
pocketorbag.

1.Playmode selecting
Press the MODE button (M) duringplay toselectfromthe5-modeplaybacksequence.
1.Normal (no mark):Plays all the songsinsequence, and the playerwill beautomatically
turnedoffwhen all thesongshavebeenplayed.
2.Repeatone(REPEAT1):Plays one song overandover.
3.Repeat all (REPEATALL):Plays all the songs thenrepeatsthemover again,until you
press and holdthePLAY/PAUSE buttontostop the playback.
4.Random(RND):Playsallthesongsin randomorder,andtheplayerwillbeautomatically
turnedoffwhen all thesongshavebeenplayed.
5.Repeat in randommode (RND REPEAT): Plays all the songs in random order repeatedly,
until you press and hold thePLAY/PAUSE buttonto stop the playback.

3-6. Using an External SD/MMCMemory Card (Optional -notincluded)
1.Turn the playeroff. Open the backcover,refertodiagrambelow.
2.Confirmthe card is SD/MMCtypeandinsert the card asindicated inthe diagram
below and you will hearaclick,then closethebatterycover box.
NOTE1: TheexternalSD/MMCcardrequires afully charged orfresh battery to operate,
so please changetoanew battery if youcan’tpoweronwhenyouareusing
theexternal SD/MMCcard.
3.Turntheplayeron.It will playthesongs ontheSD/MMC cardautomatically,the
memory icon “CARD”will show in thedisplay(card play).
4.If you want to listen to the music on thebuilt-in flash memory,stop the playback,
presstheMODEbutton (M)repeatedlyto selectthe flashmemory,thenpressthe
PLAY/PAUSE button to confirm.The playerwill playthe songsonthe flash
memory automatically.
5.Toremove the SD/MMC memory card, turn offthe set first,then openthe battery
cover,and pushtheSD/MMC card,thecardwill pop out.

NOTE2: Be sureto turnofftheMP3player before insertingor removingtheSD/MMC
card. Ifyour set ison,itmaycause some data to belost orthesettofreeze
orbecome inoperative.If thisshould happen, please take out the battery for
1minute, thenreplaceit and restart the MP3 player.

1.Attachingthebeltcliponthe MP3 player.
a. Attach the belt clipon the MP3 player.
b.Rotate the beltclip totheleft.
2. Attaching the armband to the MP3 player.
a.Slide theend ofthe armbandthroughthelooponthearmband,thenadjustthe
length of the armband tosuit your arm and fix the end.
b.Attach the MP3 player with the belt clipontoyour armband.
c.Insert yourarmthroughthearmbandandadjust for asnug and comfortable fit.
