Installation Instructions

Wireless Camera/Monitor System

The EC7008-WK Wireless Camera and Monitor Kit from ECCO is

designed to provide a driver with video and audio from up to four

cameras individually or together on a split screen for ultimate driver

awareness. When properly installed and used in conjunction with

vehicle mirrors, ECCO’s EC7008-WK assists drivers during hazardous

parking and backing situations. This manual provides information

about installation, function, safety, maintenance, replacement parts

and warranty.

Failure to install or use this product according to manufacturer’s recommendations may result in property damage, serious bodily/personal injury,

and/or death to you and those you are seeking to protect!

WARNING!

1. Proper installation combined with operator training in the use, care, and maintenance of safety products are essential to ensure the safety of

you and those you are trying to protect.

2. Exercise caution when working with live electrical connections.

3. This product must be properly grounded. Inadequate grounding and/or shorting of electrical connections can cause high current arcing, which

can cause personal injury and/or severe vehicle damage, including re.

4. Proper placement and installation are vital to the performance of this safety product. Install this product so that the performance of the system

is maximized and the controls are placed within convenient reach of the operator so that s/he can operate the system without losing eye contact

with the roadway.

5. It is the responsibility of the vehicle operator to ensure during use that all features of this product work correctly. In use, the vehicle operator

should ensure the eld-of-view of the camera/monitor is not blocked by vehicle components (i.e., open trunks or compartment doors), people,

vehicles, or other obstructions.

6. Never take the right-of-way for granted. It is your responsibility to be sure you can proceed safely before entering an intersection, driving

against trafc, responding at a high rate of speed, walking on or around trafc lanes.

7. This equipment is intended for use by authorized personnel only. The user is responsible for understanding and obeying all laws regarding

safety products. Therefore, the user should check all applicable city, state, and federal laws and regulations. The manufacturer assumes no

Installation, Wiring and Function

Caution! When drilling into any vehicle surface, make sure that the area is free from any electrical wires, fuel lines,

vehicle upholstery, etc. that could be damaged.

Important! Mount the camera at a location that provides the best view of the area immediately behind the vehicle. Generally, mounting locations toward the

top of the vehicle provide the best eld of view. Lower mounting locations reduce the eld of view and increase the likelihood of damage from road spray.

Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Examine the unit for transit damage. If damage is found, return the product to your local dealer for war-

ranty replacement. Do not use damaged or broken parts.

U-BRACKET CAMERA MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Select a level surface for installation.

2. Drill mounting holes using the lower U-bracket as a template and attach the U-bracket with user supplied hardware.

3. Install the camera and sun-visor on the U-bracket as shown in Figure 1.

4. Adjust the camera’s position for the best viewing angle before tightening the two screws on each end.

5. Attach the antenna such that it is vertical.

INSTALLATION AND MOUNTING:

Notes:

1. Larger wires and tight connections will provide longer service life for components. For high current wires it is recommended

that terminal blocks or soldered connections be used with shrink tubing to protect the connections. Do not use insulation

displacement connectors (e.g., 3M Scotchlock type connectors)

2. Route wiring using grommets and sealant when passing through compartment walls. Minimize the number of splices to

reduce voltage drop. High ambient temperatures (e.g., under-hood) will signicantly reduce the current carrying capacity of

wires, fuses, and circuit breakers. All wiring should conform to the minimum wire size and other recommendations of the

manufacturer and be protected from moving parts and hot surfaces. Looms, grommets, cable ties, and similar installation

hardware should be used to anchor and protect all wiring.

3. Fuses or circuit breakers should be located as close to the power takeoff points as possible and properly sized to protect the

wiring and devices.

4. Particular attention should be paid to the location and method of making electrical connections and splices to protect these

points from corrosion and loss of conductivity.

5. Ground termination should be only be made to substantial chassis components, preferably directly to the vehicle battery.

6. Circuit breakers are very sensitive to high temperatures and will “false trip” when mounted in hot enviroments or operated

close to their capacity.

WIRING INSTRUCTIONS:

Important! Waterproof all connections whether inside or outside the vehicle by using sealant and wrapping with insulation tape. Wrap tape tightly,

overlapping by one-half widths so there are no gaps.

The unit is designed or electrical systems from 12 to 24 VDC (10 to 30 VDC extremes).

The wiring for all systems is:

Red Wire Positive (+)

Black Wire Negative (-)

All wiring should be a minimum of 20 AWG. A 3-amp fuse in the positive

line is required (see Figure 3).

INSTALLATION AND MOUNTING:

WARNING!

To prevent accidental shock, DO NOT OPEN THE MONITOR CASE. Opening the monitor case will expose the inside of the monitor to conditions

that could adversely affect performance. Any evidence of tampering with sealed components will void the warranty.

Important! Do not expose the monitor to water, it is not waterproof. Any water that leaks into the monitor could cause extensive damage.

U-Bracket Monitor Mounting Instructions

1. Select a level surface for installation.

2. Drill mounting holes using the lower U-bracket as a template and attach the U-bracket with user supplied hardware.

3. Install the monitor on the U-bracket as shown in Figure 4. Adjust the monitor’s position for the best viewing angle before tightening the two screws

on each end.

4. Attach the sun-visor as shown. Attach the antennas so they point upward.

Pedestal Mounting Instructions:

1. Select a level surface for installation.

2. For mounting the pedestal using the adhesive, prep the surface using rubbing alcohol before installation.

3. For mounting the pedestal using screws, drill mounting holes using the pedestal as a template and attach with user supplied hardware.

4. Install the monitor and sun-visor on the pedestal mount as shown in Figure 7. Adjust the monitor’s position for best viewing angel before tightening the set screw

on the pedestal mount. Attach the antennas so they point upward.

VOLUME ADJUSTMENT

During single image modes, the volume can be adjusted using the + and - buttons on the monitor or the < and > buttons on the remote.

During split/quad image modes, the audio from one camera is selected through the split audio menu option, see below for details. Return to any single image mode to

adjust the volume.

Press M (or MENU on the remote) to display the following options and settings:

SPLIT/QUAD IMAGE OVERRIDE SELECTION

To select the yellow trigger override, press the S button until split view CAM1 and CAM2 is on the screen. Apply and hold power to yellow trigger wire and press the +

or - button on the monitor (< or > on the remote) to cycle through all split camera views, including quad view. When desired split or quad override view is found, remove

yellow trigger wire from power. Wait for camera view to reset. Press S to change to camera view and return to normal viewing mode. Touch the yellow trigger wire to

power wire to test if the trigger override is working properly. This view will override all standard views when power is applied to yellow.

IMAGE MODE OPTIONS

Using the monitor:

1. Press S to enter the single image mode to be adjusted.

2. Press M to enter the Menu

3. Use the + or - to highlight the PICTURE Option

4. Press the down arrow to enter the PICTURE Option

5. Use the + or - to highlight the desired adjustment

6. Press the down arrow to enter the adjustment option

7. Use the + or - to change the settings

8. Press the down arrow to exit the adjustment option

9. Press M twice to return to the main screen

Using the remote:

1. Press SEL to enter the single image mode to be adjusted

2. Press MENU to enter the Menu

3. Use the < or > to highlight the PICTURE Option

4. Press OK to enter the PICTURE Option

5. Use the < or > to highlight the desired adjustment

SELECTING SPLIT CAMERA VIEW

Press the S button on the monitor until split view CAM1 and CAM2 appears on the screen. Press + or - on the monitor (or < or > on the remote control) to cycle through

all the split camera views.

Using the monitor:

1. Press S to enter the single image mode to be adjusted.

2. Press M to enter the Menu

3. Use the + or - to highlight the MIR-FLIP Option

5. Use the + or - to highlight the desired orientation

6. Press M twice to return to the main screen

3. Press the down arrow to enter the SPLIT-AUDIO menu

4. Use the + or - to highlight/select the camera to deliver audio

5. Press M twice to return to the main screen

Using the remote:

1. Press MENU to enter the Menu

2. Use the < or > to highlight the SPLIT-AUDIO option

Audio from one camera is selected through the split audio menu option. Return to any single image mode to adjust the volume. The volume selected during any single

camera image mode will carry over to all other image modes. Volume can not be adjusted during split or quad image modes.

AUTOSCAN is disabled by default when all cameras are set to off in the AUTOSCAN menu. AUTOSCAN is enabled once one or more cameras are set to ON in the

AUTOSCAN menu. Once enabled, AUTOSCAN occurs as an additional image mode between the split and CAM1 image modes. The SCANTIME, or time interval

for each camera, is in seconds.

Using the monitor:

1. Press M to enter the Menu

2. Use the + or - to highlight the RECORD Option

3. Press the down arrow to enter the RECORD Option

4. Use the + or - to highlight the desired adjustment

5. Press M twice to return to the main screen

Using the remote:

1. Press MENU to enter the Menu

2. Use the < or > to highlight the RECORD Option

3. Press OK to enter the RECORD Option

Enable/Disable Recording

A blue rectangle at the top of the monitor will indicate active recording as long as a mini SD card has been been installed and

formatted. See further sections for details. To enable or disable recording in split or quad view, press the down arrow on the

monitor or the OK on the remote.

Once OVERWRITE is enabled, any recording that takes place after the mini SD card is to capacity, the system will automatically start overwriting existing recordings.

See the table below for recording capacities.

To enable overwrite or to format a mini SG card

The record function is passcode protected. At initial startup, a 4 digit numerical passcode can be established in order to access the menu. Press the

down arrow to select rst digit, when number is red, use + or - to select 0 through 9. Press the down arrow to move to the next number and continued until

desired 4 digit pin is nished. Press the down arrow to conrm. This passcode will also be used for accessing the playback menu and will be the same 4

digits. In order to access the menu again, you will be prompted to enter the passcode again.

Once the pass code has been set, you can set automatic recording upon start up by selecting the record menu by pressing the down arrow. Use the + or -

to select ON or OFF. Press the down arrow to exit and press M to exit the menu.

When AUTO-DIM is set to ON, the backlight automatically adjusts in accordance with the outer brightness.

When the B-LINE is set to ON, the electronic distance label will be displayed when the blue camera 3 trigger wire is activated.

MENU OPTION: PLAY

RECORDING PLAYBACK

Using the monitor:

1. Press S to enter the single image mode to be adjusted.

2. Press M to enter the Menu

3. Use the + or - to highlight the PLAY Option

4. Press the down arrow to enter the PLAY Option

5. Use the + or - to highlight the desired folder labeled by the dates. (See below)

6. Press the down arrow to enter the folder.

7. Use the + or - to highlight the desired recording labeled by the time and image

channel. (See below)

8. Press the down arrow to play the recording

9. Press M twice to return to the main screen

Using the remote:

1. Press SEL to enter the single image mode to be adjusted

2. Press MENU to enter the Menu

3. Use the < or > to highlight the PLAY Option

4. Press OK to enter PLAY Option.

5. Use the < or > to highlight the desired recording labeled by the time and image

channel. (See below)

6. Press OK to enter the folder

7. Use the < or > to highlight the desired recording labeled by the time and image

channel. (See below)

8. Press OK to play the recording

9. Press MENU twice to return to the main screen

Both PAL and NTSC color system options are available. PAL offers automated color correction and 25 frames per second (fps), popular in Europe

and Australia, while NTSC uses manual color correction and 30 fps, popular in the U.S. and Asia.

See Record section for setting up a passcode. In order to access the menu after initial setup, you will need the passcode.

2. Press M to enter the Menu

3. Use the + or - to highlight the PAIRING Option

4. Press the down arrow to enter the PAIRING Option

5. The monitor will display the message “PAIRING START 50” and a counter that

counts down 50 seconds. Power on the camera within the rst 45 seconds

6. The camera will pair with the monitor after 5-8 seconds

Using the remote:

1. Press SEL to enter the single image mode to be paired

2. Press PAIR to enter the PAIRING OPTION

3. The monitor will display the message “PAIRING START 50” and a counter that

counts down 50 seconds. Power on the camera within the rst 45 seconds

4. The camera will pair with the monitor after 5-8 seconds

Wireless Camera/Monitor System

El kit de Cámara inalámbrica y monitoreo EC7008-WK de ECCO

ha sido diseñado para proporcionar al conductor video y audio

provenientes de hasta 4 cámaras de forma individual o conjunta en

una pantalla dividida para una máxima percatación del conductor.

Cuando se instala correctamente y se usa en conjunto con los espejos

del vehículo, el EC7008-WK de ECCO asiste a los conductores en

situaciones peligrosas de estacionamiento y retroceso. Este manual

ofrece información sobre instalación, funcionamiento, seguridad,

mantenimiento, repuestos y garantía.

Instrucciones de instalación

Cámara inalámbrica/Sistema de monitoreo

1. La correcta instalación combinada con la capacitación del operador en el uso, cuidado y mantenimiento de los productos de seguridad son

esenciales para asegurar su propia seguridad y la de quienes pretende proteger.

2. Tome precauciones cuando trabaje con conexiones eléctricas vivas.

3. Este producto tiene que ser puesto a tierra correctamente. Una puesta a tierra inadecuada y/o el cortocircuitado de las conexiones eléctricas

puede causar el surgimiento de arcos eléctricos de alta corriente, que pueden provocar lesiones personales y/o graves daños al vehículo,

incluyendo incendios.

4. Una correcta colocación e instalación son vitales para el rendimiento de este producto de seguridad. Instale este producto para que el

rendimiento del sistema sea aprovechado al máximo y los controles estén colocados a un alcance conveniente del operador para que pueda

operar el sistema sin perder contacto visual con el camino.

5. Es responsabilidad del operador del vehículo asegurarse que durante el uso, todas las funciones de este producto funcionen correctamente. En

uso, el operador del vehículo debe asegurarse que los componentes del vehículo no bloqueen el campo de visión de la cámara/del monitor (es

decir, por cajuelas o puertas de compartimientos abiertas), personas, vehículos u otras obstrucciones.

6. Nunca dé por sentado que tiene preferencia de paso. Es responsabilidad suya asegurarse que puede proceder con seguridad antes de ingresar

a una intersección, de no conducir contra el tráco, de responder bien ante velocidades altas y de caminar correctamente en o cerca de los

carriles de tránsito.

7. El personal autorizado es el único que debe utilizar estos equipos. El usuario es responsable de entender y obedecer todas las leyes

relacionadas a los productos de seguridad. Por tanto, el usuario debe vericar todas las leyes y regulaciones federales, estatales y locales

aplicables. El fabricante no es responsable por ninguna pérdida que sea resultado del uso de este producto de seguridad.

No instale y/u opere este producto de seguridad a menos que haya leído y entendido la información de seguridad

¡ADVERTENCIA!

¡Importante! Monte la cámara en el lugar que ofrezca la mejor vista del área que se encuentra directamente detrás del vehículo. Generalmente, los lugares

de montaje hacia la parte superior del vehículo ofrecen el mejor campo de visión. Los lugares de montaje inferiores reducen el campo de visión y aumentan

la probabilidad de daño ante las salpicaduras de la carretera.

Retire cuidadosamente la unidad de su empaque. Examine la unidad para ver si se ha dañado en el tránsito. Si encuentra algún daño, retorne el producto

a su distribuidor local para un reemplazo dentro de la garantía. No use partes rotas o dañadas.

INSTRUCCIONES DE MONTAJE DE LA CÁMARA CON ABRAZADERA EN «U»:

1. Seleccione una supercie nivelada para la instalación.

2. Taladre los oricios de montaje usando la abrazadera en «U» inferior como patrón y je esta abrazadera con los accesorios suministrados al usuario.

3. Instale la cámara y el visor de sol en la abrazadera en «U» como se muestra en la Figura 1.

4. Ajuste la posición de la cámara para conseguir el mejor ángulo de visualización antes de ajustar los dos tornillos a cada extremo.

5. Fije la antena de tal forma que esté vertical.

INSTALLATION ET MONTAGE :

Notas:

1. Los cables más largos y las conexiones bien ajustadas ofrecerán una mayor vida útil a los componentes. Para cables de alta

corriente, se recomienda usar bloques de terminales o conexiones soldadas cuando se intube por contracción para proteger las

conexiones. No usa conectores de por desplazamiento en aislamiento (p. ej., conectores tipo Scotchlock de 3M)

2. Enrute el cableado utilizando pasacables y sellante cuando atraviese las paredes del compartimiento. Minimice el número

de empalmes para reducir la caída de tensión. Las temperaturas ambiente altas (p. ej., debajo de la cajuela) reducirán

signicativamente la capacidad de transmisión de la corriente de cables, fusibles e interruptores. Todo el cableado debe estar en

conformidad con el tamaño mínimo de cable y otras recomendaciones del fabricante, además de estar protegido de las partes

móviles y las supercies calientes. Deben usarse mangueras, pasacables, amarres de cables y accesorios similares de instalación

para anclar y proteger todo el cableado.

3. Los fusibles o interruptores deben ubicarse tan cerca de los puntos de toma de potencia como sea posible y deben ajustarse al

tamaño exacto para proteger el cableado y los dispositivos.

4. Se debe prestar atención especial a la ubicación y al método para hacer las conexiones eléctricas y empalmes para proteger estos

puntos de la corrosión y la pérdida de conductividad.

5. La puesta a tierra solo debe hacerse a componentes sustanciales del chasis, de preferencia directamente a la batería del vehículo.

6. Los interruptores son muy sensibles a altas temperaturas y “se desconectarán falsamente” cuando se monten en ambientes

calientes o se operen cerca de su capacidad.

INSTRUCCIONES DE CABLEADO:

¡Importante! Impermeabilice todas las conexiones, ya sea dentro o fuera del vehículo, usando sellante y envolviéndolas con cinta aislante. Envuelva la

cinta bien ajustada, traslapando por anchos de .5, para que no haya espacios sin cinta.

La unidad ha sido diseñada para sistemas eléctricos que van de 12 a 24 V de CC

(extremos de 10 a 30 V de CC).

El cableado para todos los sistemas es:

Alambre rojo - Positivo (+)

Alambre negro - Negativo (-)

Todo cableado debe ser de un mÍnimo de 20 AWG.

Se requiere un fusible de 3 amps en la línea positiva (ver Figura 3).

INSTALACIÓN Y ENSAMBLAJE:

¡ADVERTENCIA!

Para evitar una descarga accidental, NO ABRA EL COMPARTIMIENTO DEL MONITOR. Abrir el compartimiento del monitor expondrá las partes

internas del monitor, lo cual podría afectar el rendimiento de forma negativa. Cualquier evidencia de manipulación de los componentes sellados,

anulará la garantía.

¡Importante! No exponga el monitor al agua, no es impermeable. Cualquier cantidad de agua que se ltre hacia el monitor podría causar un daño grave.

Retire cuidadosamente la unidad de su empaque. Examine la unidad para ver si se ha dañado en el tránsito. Si encuentra algún daño, retorne el

Instrucciones de montaje del monitor con abrazadera en “U”

1. Seleccione una supercie nivelada para la instalación.

2. Taladre los oricios de montaje usando la abrazadera en “U” inferior como patrón y je esta abrazadera con los accesorios suministrados al

usuario.

3. Instale el monitor en la abrazadera en “U” como se muestra en la Figura 4. Ajuste la posición del monitor para conseguir el mejor ángulo de

visualización antes de ajustar los dos tornillos a cada extremo.

4. Fije el visor de sol como se muestra. Fije las antenas para que apunten hacia arriba.

Instrucciones de ensamblaje del pedestal:

1. Seleccione una supercie nivelada para la instalación.

2. Para ensamblar el pedestal usando el adhesivo, prepare la supercie usando alcohol isopropílico antes de la instalación.

3. Para ensamblar el pedestal usando tornillos, taladre oricios de montaje usando el pedestal como patrón y fíjelo con los accesorios suministrados al usuario.

4. Instale el monitor y el visor de sol en el pedestal como se muestra en la Figura 7. Ajuste la posición del monitor para conseguir el mejor ángulo de visualización

antes de ajustar el tornillo jo en el montaje del pedestal. Fije las antenas para que apunten hacia arriba.
