convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11.) Only use attachments / accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12.) Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
13.) Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is

UNPACKINGAND SET-UP
•Carefullyremovethe unitfromthe carton and removeall packing material
fromthe unit.
•Removeanylabelsorstickerswhichmaybe on the frontortop ofthe set, but
do notremoveanylabelsfromthe back orbottom.
•Wesuggestthatyou retainthe originalcarton and packing materialsincaseit
everbecomesnecessarytoreturnyourunitforservice.Thisisthe onlysure
waytoprotectthe unitfromdamage intransit.
•If you do disposeofthe carton and packing materials,pleasedo soproperly.
Emerson caresaboutourenvironment.
•Press the CD DOOROPENbutton and removethe dummyCD transit
protection cardfromthe CD mechanism.Discardit.
PREPARATIONFORUSE
SPEAKERCONNECTION
Connecteachspeakertothe corresponding speakerterminalson the back panel
ofthe mainunit. Makesurethatthe left speakerisconnected tothe left (L)pairof
speakerterminalsand the rightspeakertothe right(R)pairofspeakerterminals.
Alsomakesurethatthe speakerwiresarecorrectlyconnected:thatthe red wires
areconnected tothe red terminalsand the black wirestothe black terminals.
Depress the plasticlevertoopen the terminal,insertthe bareend ofthe speaker
wireintothe opening and release.

1.)Unwind the ACPowerCordcompletely.
2.)Insertthe plug intoanyconvenient120V60HzACoutlet.
POWERSOURCE
Thissystemisdesigned tooperateon 120V60HzAChousecurrent.Connecting
thissystemtoanyotherpowersupplycouldresultindamage tothe unitwhichis
notcovered byyourwarranty.You will notethatthissystemisequipped witha
polarized ACpowerplug having one blade widerthan the other.Thisisasafety
feature.If thisplug doesnotfitintoyourexistingACoutlet, do nottrytodefeatthis
safetyfeaturebyfiling the wide blade tomakeitfitintoyouroutlet. If thisplug will
notfitintoyouroutlet, you probablyhavean out-dated non-polarized ACoutlet.
You shouldhaveyouroutletchanged byaqualified licensed electrician.

Insert2pcs‘AA’size(Alkaline)batteries(notincluded)intothebatterycompartment
ofthe remotecontroller.Besuretoobservethe polaritymarkingswhichare
engraved inside the batterycompartment, then closethe cover.
BATTERYREPLACEMENT
When the batteriesbecometoo weak,the operating distanceofthe remote
controllerisgreatlyreduced and you will need toreplacethe batteries.

USINGTHEREMOTECONTROLLERCORRECTLY
•Pointthe remotecontrolleratthe RemoteSensor.
•The functionsofthe buttonson the remotecontrolarethe sameasthe
corresponding controlson the mainunit.
•When thereisastrong ambientlightsource,the performanceofthe infrared
RemoteSensormaybe degraded,causing unreliableoperation.
•The maximumeffectivedistanceforremotecontroloperation isabout15 feet.
BATTERYPRECAUTIONS
Followtheseprecautionswhen using batteriesinthisdevice:
1.Useonlythe sizeand type ofbatteriesspecified.
2.Besuretofollowthe correctpolaritywhen installing the batteriesasindicated inthe battery
compartment. Reversed batteriesmaycausedamage tothe device.
3.Donotmixdifferenttypesofbatteriestogether(e.g.Alkalineand Carbon-Zinc)oroldbatteries
withfreshones.
4. If the deviceisnottobe used foralong period oftime,removethe batteriestoprevent
damage orinjuryfrompossiblebatteryleakage.
5.Donottrytorecharge batteriesnotintendedtobe recharged;theycan overheatand rupture.
