1. PRESENTAZIONE DEL PRODOTTO
1.1 Composition of the air conditioner
The air conditioners are of the “Split System” type, with air-air heat-
exchange.
They consist of two separate units:
- “Indoor unit”, to be placed inside the house.
- “Outdoor unit”, to be placed outside the house.
ll the functions of the air conditioner are controlled by an “infrared remote
control”.

2.1 Attention and dangers
Before using the air conditioner please read carefully the instructions
manual. Producer decline every responsibility for any damage caused by
the non-observing of the following warnings.
When this manual has been read, please make sure that further unit users
will read it as well.
User has to keep this manual close to hand and has to give it to those who
repair and move the unit. Furthermore when there is an owner change,
please let the manual at disposal of the new user. Please make sure that
the following important safe information are strictly observed.
Unit is not intended to be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or with lack of
experience or acknowledge (children included) unless they had the possibility to benefit of some monitoring or
using instructions through a person responsible for their safety. Children have to be monitored to be sure they do not
play with the unit. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. children shall not
play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. caution:
do not expose the electronics of your charging and drying stand or the battery charger. There are no user serviceable
parts inside. Tefer servicing to qualified service personnel. please ensure voltage rating for enclosed battery charger
matches standard outlet voltage.
Do not install the air conditioner in rooms where gas leakages or
other flammable substances could occur near the units.
Maintenance operations must be carried out exclusively by quali-
fied technicians.
Do not use the emergency button with wet hands. Do not place flower vases or water containers on the unit.
Verify the air conditioner’s wall attachments firmness.
Do not place objects or stand on the unit.
Do not direct the air flow directly on individuals, plants or animals.
Don’t blow the human body with the cooling air too long, and don’t
let the room temperature decrease too low either. Otherwise the
one will feel unpleasant or harm ones’ health.
Do not disassemble the louver of the external unit. Fan exposure is
very dangerous, it could hurt people .

2. WARNINGS
Before any maintenance remove the power supply from the air
conditioner.
Use the air conditioner only to condition the room.
Do not use the air conditioner for other purposes, for example:
drying laundry, preserving food, breeding animals or cultivating
vegetables.
Avoid blocking the air entry and outlet grids.
This could reduce performance or cause damage to the air condi-
tioner.
Do not put your fingers or other objects into the sockets / outlets
and deflector swinging while the conditioner is in operation. The
high speed of the fan is very dangerous and can cause injury.
Do not pour or spray water on the air conditioner. Do not install the air conditioner near sources emitting excessive
vapours (moisture, oils, etc.).
Please use fuses with the right amperage only.
(Never use pieces of cable to make temporary replacements. This
might cause fires too, not just a damage.
If you experience abnormal phenomena (eg a burning smell),
disconnect the power immediately and contact your dealer for
instructions on what to do. In this case, continue to use the air
conditioner may cause damage and create the risk of electric
shock and fire.
Avoid the use of heating equipments near the air conditioner. Select the most suitable room temperature.
Be careful in rooms where there are children, sick and/or elderly
people.

2014/30/EU regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility

In accordance with the directive 2012/19/EC WEE of the European par-
liament, herewith we inform the users about the disposal requirements
of the electrical and electronic products.
RoHS 2011/65/EU of the European parliament and of the council on the
Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous
2009/125/EC COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 206/2012
on the specific ecodesign requirements for air conditioners and fans.

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation
In a high concentration it can cause suffocation. The symptoms may include loss of mobility and/or
consciousness. The victims may not realise they are suffocating. Wearing the breathing apparatus,
move the victims to a ventilated area, make them lie down and keep them warm. Call a doctor. Provide
artificial respiration only if the victim is not breathing.
Contact with the eyes:
Rinse the eyes immediately with water. Remove any contact lenses if it is easy to do so. Continue to
rinse. Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately. If medical
care is not available immediately, rinse for another 15 minutes.
Contact with the skin: Contact with the evaporating liquid may cause the skin to freeze.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FIRE-FIGHTERS
Special fire fighting procedures:
In the event of a fire: stop the leak if it is not dangerous. Do not extinguish the flames on the leak
because there is the possibility of an uncontrolled explosive re-ignition. Spray continuously with water
from a safe position until the container has cooled down. Use extinguishers to extinguish the fire.
Isolate the source of the fire or let it burn.
MEASURES IN CASE OF ACCIDENTAL ESCAPE
Personal precautions, protective equipment and
procedures in case of an emergency:
Evacuate the area. Ensure suitable ventilation. Assess the risk of potential explosive atmospheres.
Eliminate all sources of ignition if it is not dangerous. Monitor the concentration of the product that has
been released.
Prevent it from seeping into sewers, basements, excavations or areas where accumulation may be
dangerous. Use a breathing apparatus to enter the affected area unless it has been proven that the

HANDLING AND STORAGE:
Only suitably trained and experienced people can handle gas under pressure. Use only specific
equipment, suitable for the product, the pressure and the temperature of use.

Waste treatment methods
General information:
Do not discharge where its accumulation may be dangerous. Ask the supplier for
specific recommendations. Do not discharge in areas where there is a risk of formation of
explosive atmospheres with air. The gas should be disposed of in a suitable torch
with a flame retardant device.
Disposal methods:
Refer to the EIGA Practice Code (Doc. 30 “Gas Disposal”, downloadable from http://www.eiga.
org) for better guidance on the disposal methods available.
Contact the supplier for the correct disposal of the container. Discharging, treatment or
disposal may by subject to national, state or local regulations.

To move the units please use the relevant pre-cut handles placed on the
short sides of the packaging and comply with the current laws concerning
safety on the working place of the installation.
The external unit and the internal units of big size have to be moved by
two persons.

Unpacking operations have to be done carefully because the external
part of the units has not to be damaged when knifes or cutters are used
to open the carton package.
After unpacking make sure of the unit integrity.
If in doubt, do not use the unit and refer to the authorized technical
personnel

Please verify that the two units of the air conditioner do not have been damaged during the transport
When a complaint is necessary, please get in touch with the carrier to make immediately sure about the damage and relevant responsibilities
Before throwing away the packages, make sure that all accessories supplied have been removed from them.

TV, radio, acoustic equipment have to remain at a minimum distance of
1 m from the internal unit, the external unit, the power supply cables,
pipes; otherwise images could result not clear and some noise could be
detected.
Air conditioner has to be placed in a well-ventilated and easy to reach place.
Air conditioner has not to be placed in the following places:
a) Places where there are machines oils or other oils fumes.
b) Along the coast with high salt concentration in the air
c) Near resurgences with high content of sulphuric gases
d) In areas with high tension fluctuation, e.g. factories etc.
e) In vehicles or boats
5.1 Positioning the outdoor unit
If possible, avoid exposing the unit to direct
sunlight, particularly in early afternoon.
On the contrary, provide for a suitable protection
that does not obstruct the free circulation of air.
Avoid positioning in correspondence with areas
that can worsen the negative effects of atmo-
spheric agents such as eaves drains or downpipe
drains.
Select the position that is favourable for air
circulation and facilitates the drain of the con-
densation water.
In the models pay particular attention to snowfall,
including snow falling from roof pitches which
could obstruct air circulation.
Select a position in which noise and the air jet do
not damage or bother people, animals or plants.
Make sure the “minimum operational distances”
are observed.

The two air conditioner units are connected to each other by means of copper
piping. A maximum of 10 curves is allowed and beyond this number the correct
operation and the declared yield of the air conditioner are not guaranteed.
The two units can be positioned with a maximum gradient of 5 metres.
In cases where the indoor unit is installed higher than the outdoor unit with:
Between 3 and 5 meters must be provided an intermediate siphon to lock oil.

6. EXTERNAL UNIT INSTALLATION
6.1 External unit installation
- Install the anti –vibration rubber pads under the external unit (acces-
sory provided separately) and place the unit on a raised part of at
least 10 cm as shown in Fig. A.
- Make sure about the stability and the levelling of the surface where
unit is placed.
- When several external units have to be installed, it is essential to
assure distances between the units which do not restrict air circu-
lation to the single units and to make maintenance operations easier
(Fig. B)
- In case of under roof installation or similar, please follow the indica-
tions shown in fig. C.

Nota:

Attention!
Place the condensation water outlet so that no damage may be caused
to people or things.
It is advisable to be able to visually check the outlet drain at the end of
the piping, or alternatively insert a transparent section in the tubing
itself when it flows into an outlet which cannot be inspected.
Installation and maintenance activities on the air conditioners can
be done by personnel and companies holding appropriate certifi-
cate according to the Regulation (EC) Nr. 303/2008 which provides
the minimum requirements of the companies and of the personnel
about fixed units of refrigeration, air condition and heating pumps
which contain some fluorinated greenhouse gases, according to
the Regulation (EC) nr. 842/2006 of the European Parliament and
of the Council.
- Installation must be performed by qualified and authorized personnel.
- Do not attempt to install the unit by yourself.
- For any repairs, contact the service centre.
- Repairs of an electrical nature must be performed by qualified
electricians.
- Improper operations may cause serious harm to the user.

The right installation of the air conditioner assure its efficiency
Therefore we invite you to follow the instructions carefully about positio-
ning, installation, connexions and test listed in these manuals.

6.2 Outdoor unit condensation drain pipe
The outdoor unit is provided with a hole in the lower part of the frame,
which through a conical connection (supplied), drains the condensation
water.
- Insert the gasket on the supplied fitting
- Insert the fitting at the bottom of the outdoor unit
- Rotate the fitting 90 ° until you hear the click
- The hose clamp is clamped.
- The condensate discharge pipe must be slightly sloping to permit
natural outflow.
- It is advisable to use a sufficiently rigid plastic tube to prevent any
crushing of the same.

a suitable straight section near the outdoor unit in order to enable the
flare to be remade if necessary.
- Remove any burrs from the end of the pipe, using a countersink. This ope-
ration is very important in order to obtain good quality flaring (Fig. A).
6. EXTERNAL UNIT INSTALLATION
6.3 Refrigerating circuit piping
The connections for the refrigerating piping are sealed with a flared end and flare-nut.
The outdoor unit contains the whole charge of the refrigerating system and is equipped with valves with flare-nut connections and service fitting connection.

Attention!
Use only new, annealed, degreased and deoxidated copper pipe of the
CU DHP for UNI EN 12735-1 type.
The copper pipe for plumbing services is not suitable.
Refrigerating lines
Path and bending of pipelines
- Define the pipeline path with the fewest possible bends.
- Bend the pipe with a suitable pipe-bending machine to avoid dangerous
flattening.
- For wide bends, use cylindrical surfaces for support, working very
delicately.
Attention!
Do not bend the copper pipe more than three times in the same place, to
avoid the danger of splitting it.
Warning!
When you remove the burrs, keep the end of the pipe towards the bottom,
avoiding scraps from dropping inside it. The unions placed on the pipe
fittings of the units are to be immediately
removed before use, working in such a way that the cocks remain open
for the minimum time possible.

6.3.2 Insulating the pipelines
- Before carrying out the flaring of the pipe, it is essential to insulate the
pipe and then fit the nuts on the pipe (Fig. B).

Use an insulating tube in vapour-proof closed-cell polyurethane foam at
least 9 mm in thickness. (Fig. C).
Wrap any uncovered areas with adhesive tape which has similar cha-
racteristics to the insulating material used for the pipeline.
6.3.3 Esecution Flaring
Carrying out the flaring properly is essential for the union to seal, it must
therefore be carried out with particular care and the appropriate flaring
tool. (Fig. D/E).
It is important to apply refrigerating oil to the mating surfaces of the
flared end and the fitting before they are joined.
This precaution prevents possible gas leakage.
Attention!
Use only synthetic oil in air conditioners which are charged with R 32
refrigerant.

Earthing wire should not be con- nected to the gas pipe,
water pipe, lightning rod or phone line, incorrect earthing
may cause shock.
6.4 Electrical supply
Electrical connections have to be done by qualified personnel, by observing
the current rules in the place where the air conditioner unit has to be
installed.
Electrical connection has to be preceded by a careful control about com-
patibility between the electrical supply line and the features of the unit
you want to connect.
In the electrical supply line of the unit it is mandatory to foresee a bipolar
switch (a differential one) with a contact separation of at least 3mm in
every pole.
Attention!
Before doing any work on the units, make sure that the main electrical
supply has been disconnected.
Before interrupting the power supply by means of the switch, turn the air
conditioner off with the remote control.

- Loosen the screws and insert the ends of the cable completely into the
terminal block, after this tighten the screws.

Note:
after the unit has been switched off, or after the operating mode has
been changed, the compressor will not start before 3 minutes.
During operation in Cooling mode, frost may form on the indoor unit or
on the pipes.
Run the unit as indicated in the instruction manual. Explain the operation
of the air conditioning unit to the end user using the instruction manual.
Points to confirm during the operating test:
Are there gas leaks from the pipe couplings?
Have the pipe couplings been thermally insulated?
Are the electrical connections of the indoor units and of the outdoor
unit correct?
Is the cable connecting the indoor units and the outdoor unit firmly
attached?
Is the condensate drained correctly?
If the earth wire firmly connected?
Does the supply voltage comply with the regulations in force?
Can you hear strange noises?
Is operation in Cooling mode normal?
Does the room temperature sensor work correctly?
7.2 Coolant recovery
The coolant must always be collected in special cylinders using the
recovery unit and following the operating instructions of the same.
Note:
the coolant must not be released into the atmosphere as specified in
the regulation (CE) no. 2037/2000 of the European Parliament and of
the Council.
6. EXTERNAL UNIT INSTALLATION7. CHARGE AND TEST OF THE SYSTEM
7.1 Operating test (the first ignition must be done
in Cooling mode)
Before starting the test, make sure that the following tasks have been
completed correctly:
- Piping;
- Connection of power cables;
- Correct correspondence of the indoor and outdoor unit;
- Top up coolant (if necessary);
- Make sure that all the shut-off valves are completely open;
- Check that the voltage supplied to the outdoor unit and to the indoor
units is 230V.
- To perform the test in Cooling mode, set the minimum temperature to
16°C.
- To perform the test in Heating mode, set the maximum temperature
to 30°C.
- First test each indoor unit one at a time both in Cooling mode and in
Heating mode, then test the simultaneous operation of all the indoor
units.
- After running the unit for 20 minutes, measure the delta T of the indoor
unit.
Note:
If the room temperature is below 16°C it is not possible to perform the
operating test in Cooling model using the remote control; in the same
way, if the room temperature is higher than 30°C, it is not possible to
perform the operating test in Heating mode.

7. CHARGE AND TEST OF THE SYSTEM
7.2 Draining and filling
the refrigerating circuit with R 32
- The operations indicated below must be carried out only after discon-
necting the air conditioner from the power supply.
- The outdoor unit holds a refrigerant R 32 charge suitable for pipelines up
to 5 meters in length.
- Do not mix any substance other than the specified refrigerant R 32 into
the refrigeration cycle.
- When refrigerant gas leaks occur, ventilate the room as soon and as
much as possible.
- R 32 , as well as other refrigerants, should always be recovered and
never be released directly into the environment.
- Use a vacuum pump for R 32 exclusively. Using the same vacuum
pump
for different refrigerents may damage the vacuun pump or the unit.
- To use tools (manometric group, flexible and it pumps empty) exclusively
devoted to working fittings with refrigerant
R 32

Do not substitute or mix one gas with another, as they are not compat-
ible.
- For and R 32 charge, it is imperative to introduce the refrigerant in
liquid phase.
7.1.1 Vacuum and charge procedure
- Tighten the unions (Fig. A) as indicated at page 6.3.
- Connect a vacuum pump to the service connection 3(fig. A), via a set
of portable pressure gauges.
- Keep it running until a vacuum of 1 mBar or below has been reached, if
the pump is fitted with a vacuum gauge, or for at least 25 minutes if a
vacuum gauge is not available..
- Close the valve on the set of gauges connected to the pump, and turn
the pump off.
- If the pressure gauge set is fitted with a vacuum gauge, wait at
least 5 minutes, then check that the vacuum in the system has been
maintained. If not, look for the cause of the leak.
- For pipelines longer than 5meters, it is necessary to fill the circuit, using a
measuring cylinder or an electronic balance, with a quantity of R 32 liquid
phase proportional to the size and length of the pipes used, as shown in
the following table page 11.

After the addition of any refrigerant gas charge which may be necessary:
- Remove caps B(Fig. A) and with the appropriate key open the valves (it
is good practice to open them all the way, then close them by a half of a
turn).
- Put caps B(Fig. A) back on and tighten them.
- Check for possible leaks at the unions with a refrigerant gas leak
detector.
- Disconnect the equipment used from the union 3(fig A) and close the
service connectors, refitting their caps tightly.
7.1.2 Precautions when adding refrigerant
- Fill from the liquid pipe in liquid form.
- Precautions when adding R32. It is a mixed refrigerant, so adding it in
gas form may cause the refrigerant composition to change, preventing
normal operation.

Before filling, check whether the cylinder has a siphon attached or not.
(lt should have something like “liquid filling siphon attached” displayed on
it.)

8. DISPOSAL
8.1 Enviromental safeguard information!
This equipment contains fluorinated greehouse gases covered
by Kyoto Protocol. It should only be serviced or dismantled by
professional trained personnel.
Directive 2012/19/EC (WEEE): Information for users
This product complies with EU Directive 2012/19/EC.
The barred bin symbol on the appliance indicates that the product,
requiring separate treatment to household waste after its normal
working life, must be taken to a waste-sorting centre for electrical and
electronic appliances or returned to the retailer at the time of purchasing
a new equivalent appliance.
The user is responsible for taking the appliance to the appropriate waste
collection centre at the end of its working life.
Correct waste sorting, with the discarded appliance being sent for recy-
cling, treatment and compatible environmental disposal helps prevent
any negative effects on the environment and health, and encourages the
recycling of product materials.
For further detailed information regarding available collection systems,
please contact your local waste disposal service or the shop where you
made your purchase.
8.2 Disposal rules for the old air conditioner
Before disposing of your old air conditioner, make sure that it is off and
unplug it. The refrigerant it contains requires a special procedure for dis-
posal. Materials of value in the air conditioner can be recycled. Contact
local authorities or the waste disposal facility for more information.
Make sure you do not damage the pipes of the air conditioner before you
take it to the waste disposal facility. Help protect the environment by
following a correct, non-polluting method of disposal.
8.3
Disposal rules for the new air conditioner
packaging
All of the air conditioner packing materials can be disposed of without
harming the environment. The cardboard box must be cut into pieces and
delivered to a paper collection container. The plastic and polystyrene
packaging does not contain fluorine or hydrocarbons.
All of these materials can be deposited in a waste dump and recycled
after proper treatment. Contact your local authorities for information on
waste disposal.
8.4 Battery disposal
The batteries have been designed and produced with
high quality materials and the components can be
recycled and/or re-used.
The symbol of the crossed-out rubbish bin indicates that
the product (batteries) at the end of its useful life must
be handled separately from domestic waste and must be
sent to a separate waste collection center, as provided by the European
Community 2006/66EC, art. 20 and annex II.
If under the bin there is a chemical symbol, this indicates that the batter-
ies have a certain concentration of heavy metal.and it will be indicated
as follows:
Hg: mercury (0,0005%), Cd: cadmium (0,002%), Pb: lead (0,004%)
