This delightful Put-Em-Around expresses your pre-recorded 20 second message
when activated. During the time the message is played, lights stay on showing
the hearing impaired user that a message is being communicated. Wall mounting
hardware included. Size: 9"L x 5¾"W x 2½"H. Requires 4 AA Batteries.
Operation:
1. Put-em-arounds requires 4 AA batteries to operate.
Carefully remove the blue Velcro backed battery cover to reveal the black
battery compartment. Observing polarity, install four AA size batteries into
the holder Use alkaline batteries only (e.g. Duracell or Energizer brand). Do
not use rechargeable batteries or any other type of batteries because they
supply lower voltage and the unit will not perform properly. Never mix old
and new batteries together or different brands or types together. Replace the
battery compartment cover.
2. Turn the unit on by turning the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob (black knob)
located on the back panel of the unit clockwise. You will hear an audible
click when the unit turns on.
3. To record, simply press and hold the “RECORD” button first, on the back
panel of the unit, while simultaneously holding down the plate switch.
While continuing to hold the record button and the plate switch, speak your
message. Your mouth should be about 6 inches from the microphone when
recording (the Mic is the “fuzzy” black circle on the back of the unit).
Release both the record button and the plate switch when you finish
recording.
4. Remove the clear cover and place a picture card or photograph t ect, on top
of the switch plate. Replace clear cover.
5. To play back your message, simply activate the plate switch. It is not
necessary to continue holding the plate switch when listening to the
message. The unit will continue to playback the entire message, even if
pressure on the plate is released. During playback the two bright red LED
lights will illuminate for the entire playback, and then shut off.
6. The unit will retain recorded information indefinitely, even if the batteries
are disconnected. Previously stored information will be erased only when a
new recording is performed.
7. Playback volume can be adjusted using the “ON/OFF/VOLUME” control
knob located on the back panel of the unit.
8. Put-em-arounds are pre-drilled for wall mounting. Mounting hardware has
been included.
Important Note:
The memory of this unit is capable of holding up to a total of 20 seconds of
speech information. If you go over this time, the message will record over itself.
Troubleshooting:
Problem: The unit fails to operate, or operates incorrectly.
Action #1: Disconnect the power by removing one of the batteries for 20
seconds in order to reset the unit. Re-install the batteries. If the unit does not
work correctly, replace all the batteries paying careful attention to proper
polarity.
Action #2: Make sure that you have the unit turned on and the volume turned up
to an audible volume.
Action #3: Make sure that you are holding both the record button AND the plate
switch SIMULTANEOUSLY while you are recording.
Action #4: Make sure that there is nothing covering the Microphone.
Problem: The unit is playing old messages fine, but will not record new
messages.
Action #1: Check your batteries – There is a 99% chance that either one is
installed incorrectly and/or one is weak/dead.
Care of the Unit:
The Put-em-arounds can be wiped clean with any household multi-purpose, non-
abrasive cleaner and disinfectant. We recommend Simple Green, which is a non
toxic biodegradable all-purpose cleaner.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface of the unit.
Do not submerge the unit, as it will damage the electrical components.
