Epson SureColor SC-P10000 et SC-P20000 Printers are Products highly
oriented to high productivity & high print quality.
All mechanical aspects have been improved to reach high speed &
quality, reason there are big differents in comparison with Epson Stylus
Pro -11880.
To guarantee continuous print quality and high Speed, we have decided
to create this guide which details all aspects and benefits of a regular
printer maintenance.

Start the printer in "Head Maintenance" :
Simultaneously press the“maintenance” button ( )
and Power ON ( )
Release the “Maintenance” button when
Control Panel displays "Head Maintenante"
menu.
Press the [Ok] button to allow the Carriage
positionning to Maintenance section (full
side).
If necessary, unload the media and turn the
printer OFF.

Open the left Ink Cartridge cover and remove the
2 screws with black plastic head.
Slide to the left the cover and pull it out.
Close the Ink Cartridge Cover.

Using the Cleaning stick, wipe the four edge of the
head (only) as shown on the pictures below

•Never touch the print head surface
•Wipe only the print head edge, even if
you notice dust onto the surface.
Dust and fibers will be removed thanks to the
action of the pump Cap Unit and the the wiper
blade.
You can use a light torch or smart phone light to have a better
visibility of the print head surface.

If necessary, remove the possible dust surrounding the Maintenance area with a fiber free cloth.
Put back the maintenance front cover and the 2 fixing screws.

Open the top cover and locate the 2 suction caps at the right area of the platen.
Using a cleaning stick, wipe the suctions cap as shown on the picture below to remove
possible dust & fibers.

After cleaning Print Head & Wipers

1. Close the printer maintenance Cover and press the [OK]
button of the control panel.
2. Head is back to home position and a light cleaning
sequence starts immediately.
3. When the cleaning sequence is terminated, the control
panel displays this message (see right picture) :

1 Cleaning the Platen & Borderless Porous Pads
Make sure the printer AND control panel are
totally OFF without any warning or Led
activated.
Unplug the power cable and wait 1mn before
any other action. - Open the printer top cover.
Using a fiber free soft cloth,
clean the platen surface from
backward to frontward:
In case of some particles of fiber
or dust inside the platen suction
holes, use a small twizzers or
thooth-peek to remove those
particles
In case of some fibers or dust accumulated
onto the porous pads, use a cleaning stick to
remove those particles.
IMPORTANT:
If you face a very dusty platen, use a fiber free cloth lightly mosturized with water
to remove the dust with more efficiency. Do not hesitate to wring the cloth to
remove the excess of water before use.
IMPORTANT:
Never force wiping the porous pads. They may
get out from the platen.

2 Cleaning the Paper Feed stabilizer
Sensor window :
Clean the Paper Feed Stabilizer sensor
window using a cleaning stick or any cotton
swab.
If the Feed Stabilizer sensor window is very
dusty , moisturize the cotton swab with few
drops of soapy water.
Remove excess of water before wiping the
Feed Stabilizer sensor window.
3 Cleaning the Fan exit surface
It's important to check the fan exit are not obsutrated by
any dust, fibers or other substance. The presence of dust
may reach print head and other sensitive printer part.
When dust are visible onto the Fan exit surface, use a small
vacuum to eliminate all the dust.

4 Cleaning the Media Insertion Slot
A dust retainer (felt) has been factory added at the media insertion slot along printer
width. The prupose of this felt is to catch media fibers and dust falling down onto
media surface. Reason it's necessary to regularly (1 per month) wipe this felt retainer
using the included cleaning sheet (Ref. 5 sheets Pack : C13S400045).
1. Pull out the protective layer of the cleaning sheet.
The dark side (mark A) is the sticky surface
Do not touch the sticky surface with your fingers and don't let it stick or touch any
other surface than the printer felt.
2. Adhesive side toward you, insert about 1cm of the cleaning sheet inside the media
slot then pull it out. Repeat this operation between 2 or 3 times.
3. Repeat the above step along the full printer width, from left to right. When finished,
dispose the cleaning sheet.

1 Close the Media Top Cover
To avoid any dust onto the media roll, it's
important to keep this cover closed during
and after print operation.
2 Shake The Ink Cartridges
To ensure maximum print quality, it's necessary to shake all the ink
cartridges once per month.
Pull out the Ink Cartridges from the Slot and shake horizontaly 30
times during 10 sec with 5cm movements
