Geachte klant,
Wij zijn vereerd dat uuw vertrouwen in ons
gesteld heeft.
Wij zijn ervan overtuigd datuw nieuwe
kookplaatvolledig aan uw wensen zal vol-
doen.
Dit moderne, functionele en praktische
model is ontwikkeld met behulp van mate-
rialen van topkwaliteit die gedurende het
productieproces aanstrenge kwaliteits-
controles onderworpen zijn.
Lees deze handleiding zorgvuldig door
alvorens het toestel te installeren en in
gebruik tenemen.Volg de instructies stap
voor stap, dit garandeert betere resultaten
tijdens gebruik van het toestel.
Bewaar deze handleiding en de garantie-
voorwaarden op een veilige plaatsvoor
toekomstig gebruik.
Om aanspraak te kunnen maken op de
garantie is het belangrijk datuhet aanko-
opbewijs samen methet garantiecertifi-
caat terugstuurt.
Bewaar het garantiecertificaat
of indien van toepassing, de technische
specificatie, samen met de handleiding
gedurende de levensduur van het appa-
raat. Het bevat belangrijke technische
informatie over het toestel.
Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Lees de installatie- en aansluitinstructies
zorgvuldig voor het eerste gebruik.
Deze kookplaatmodellen kunnen in het-
zelfde keukenmeubilair geïnstalleerd wor-
den als de ETNAmerkovens.
Voor uw veiligheid dient de installatie uit-
gevoerd te worden door een geautoriseer-
de servicetechnicus en moet voldoen aan
de geldende aansluitstandaarden. Evene-
ens dient elke interne reparatie van de
kookplaatuitgevoerd te worden door het
technisch personeel van ETNA, waaron-
der het vervangen van de flexibele aans-
luitkabel van het toestel.
Let op:
Wanneer de kookplaat in werking
is, of recentelijk in werking is geweest,
blijven sommige onderdelen nog een
tijdje nagloeien en kunt u zich branden.
Houd kinderen op een veilige afstand.
Indien het keramische glas bre-
ekt of barst moet de kookplaat onmid-
dellijk afgesloten worden van het elek-
triciteitsnet om de kans op elektrische
schokken te voorkomen.

Belangrijk
INSTALLATIEENAANSLUITING MOET
UITGEVOERDWORDENDOOR EEN
GEAUTHORISEERDE SERVICETECHNI-
CUS VOLGENS DE GELDENDE INSTA-
LLATIE STANDAARDEN.
Het plaatsen van de kookplaten
Afhankelijk van het te installeren model,
wordt een opening metde afmetingen vol-
gens figuur 1uitgesneden in het werkblad.
Het systeem voor het bevestigen van de
kookplaat is bedoeld voor gebruik in com-
binatie met werkbladen meteen dikte van
20, 30 en 40 mm.
De kookplaten die in deze handleiding
worden beschreven kunnen enkel met een
ETNAoven worden geïnstalleerd.
De minimale afstand tussen het werkblad-
deel dat de pannen ondersteunten het
lagere deel van het werkblad, of de afzuig-
kap boven de kookplaat, is 650mm. Indien
de installatie-instructies bij de afzuigkap
een grotere afstand voorschrijven,dient u
dit advies op te volgen.
De eenheid waar de kookplaat en de oven
in geplaatst worden dientop een passen-
de wijze bevestigd teworden.
Delijm die tijdens de productie
van de keukeneenheid en het werkblad
gebruikt is, isgeschikt voor temperatu-
ren tot 100ºC.
ETNAneemt geen verantwoorde-
lijkheid voor defecten of schade vero-
orzaakt door onjuisteinstallatie.
Let op dat het glas niet breekt
gedurende de installatie.
DENK ERAAN DATDEGLASPLAATNIET
GEDEKTIS DOOR DEGARANTIE
INDIEN DEZE ONJUIST GEBRUIKT IS
OF DEGLASPLAATEEN ZWARE
STOOTTE VERDUREN HEEFT GEHAD.

Hetbevestigen van de kookplaat
Wanneer de opening in hetwerkblad van
het juiste formaat is, kan de verzegelende
pakking op de onderzijde van de kookplaat
bevestigd worden. Gebruik geen siliconen
kit tussen het glas en het werkblad. Mocht
het nodig zijn om de kookplaat te verwijde-

ren, dan kan het glas breken tijdens het
proces van verwijderen.
Plaatsde klemmen zoals getoond in de
illustratie. Bevestig de klemmen met de
bijgeleverde schroeven in de openingen
aan de onderzijde van het toestel.
Gebruik zelftappendeschroeven voor
werkbladen met een diktevan 30 mm of
minder.Deze worden geleverd als beves-
tigingstoebehoren. Plaatsde zelftappende
schroeven in de ronde opening op de
klem. Deze opening wordt van schroef-
draadvoorzienzodradezelftappende
schroef er ingedraaid wordt. Doe dit alvo-
rens de klem aan het werkblad te bevesti-
gen.
Het aansluiten van
de elektriciteit
Controleer alvorens de kookplaat op het
elektriciteitsnet aan te sluiten,of het volta-
ge en de frequentie van het elektriciteits-
net overeenkomen met het classificatie-
plaatje op de kookplaat. Deze is te vinden
aan de onderzijde van de kookplaaten op
het garantiecertificaat, of,indien van toe-
passing op hetmeegeleverde technische
informatieblad. Deze laatste dient bij het
garantiecertificaat bewaard teworden.
De elektrische aansluiting wordt tot stand
gebracht via een omnipolaire schakelaar
(of een stop indien toegankelijk),welke
geschikt is voor de tolereerbare intensiteit
en welke een minimale afstand van 3mm
tussen de contactpunten heeft.De scha-
kelaar (of stop) verzorgt uitschakelen van
de kookplaat in geval van nood, of tijdens
het reinigen van de kookplaat.
De aansluiting moetcorrectgeaard zijn,
volgens de geldende normen.
Voorkom dat de bekabeling in aanraking is
met de behuizing van de kookplaat of die
van de oven.
De kookplaat aan de oven
bevestigen
1Schakel de elektriciteit uit.
2Plaatsde oven deels in de daarvoor bes-
temde ruimte.
3Bevestig de aansluitingen tussen de
kookplaat en de oven (zie fig. 3) om
beide toestellen aan te sluiten. Verzeker
uzelf ervan dat de aansluitingen goed
in de fittingen bevestigd zijn en dat
de handelingen geen loslating van
één van de klemmen veroorzaakt
heeft. Trek, om dit te controleren, één
voor één even aan de kabels en ver-
zeker uzelfervan dat ze allemaal nog
goed vastzitten.

Volg de richtlijnen in de instructie-
handleiding van de oven over het plaatsen
van de oven en het opstellen van de elek-
trische aansluitingen.Alvorens de behui-
zing te openen dient het toestel afgesloten
te zijn van het elektriciteitsnet.

Kookplaatkarakteristieken van de achter-
zijde van hettoestel.
Afvoeren verpakking en toestel
Bij devervaardging vandittoestelis
gebruik gemaakt van duurzame materia-
len. Dit toestel moet aan het eind van zijn
levenscyclus op verantwoorde wijze wor-
den afgevoerd. De overhead kan uhiero-
ver informatie verschaffen.
De verpakking van hettoestel is recycle-
baar.Gebruikt kunnen zijn:
-karton;
-polyethyleenfolie (PE);
-CFK-vrij polystyreen (PS-hardschuim);
Deze materialen dient uop verantwoorde
wijze en conform de overheidsbepalingen
aft evoeren.
Om opdeverplichtingtot
gescheiden verwerking van
elektrischehuishoudelijke
apparateuur te wijzen, is op
hetproduct het symbool van
een doorgekruiste vuilnisbak
aangebracht. Ditbetekent dat het appa-
raat aan het einde van zijn levensduur niet
bij het gewone huisvuil mag worden gevo-
egd. Het toestel moet naar een speciaal
centrum voor gescheiden afvalinzameling
van de gemeente worden gebracht of naar
een verkooppunt dat deze service vers-
chaft.
Het apart verwerken van huishoudelijke
apparatenvoorkomtmogelijknegitieve
gevolgen voor het milieu en de gezond-
heid die door een ongeschikte verwerking
ontstaat. Het zorgt ervoor datde materia-
len waaruit het apparaat bestaat,terugge-
wonnen kunnen worden om een aanmer-
kelijke besparing van energie en gronds-
toffen te verkrijgen.
Dit toestel voldoet aan de voorschriften
van de richtlijn 89/336/EEG inzake elektro-
magnetische compatibiliteit.

Belangrijke vereisten voor het
eerste gebruik
Controleer alvorens de kookplaatop het
elektriciteitsnetaan te sluiten, of het volta-
ge en de frequentie van het elektriciteits-
net overeenkomen met het classificatie-
plaatje op de kookplaat. Deze is te vinden
aan de onderzijde van de kookplaat en op
het garantiecertificaat,of, indien van toe-
passing op het meegeleverde technische
informatieblad. Deze laatste dient bij het
garantiecertificaatbewaard te worden.
Het toestel is niet ontworpen
voor gebruik door mensen (inclusief
kinderen) met verminderde psychische,
mentale offysiekevermogens.Het
toestel mag ook niet gebruikt worden
door mensen die geen ervaring hebben
met het bedienen van dit toestel of die
geen kennis hebben van het toestel,
tenzij ze begeleid worden door een per-
soon die verantwoordelijk isvoor hun
veiligheid.
Het apparaat is geen speelgoed,
laat kinderen er niet mee spelen.
Het toestel is niet ontworpen
voor gebruikincombinatie met een
externe tijdklok (dieniet geïntegreerd is
in het toestel)of met een afstandsbe-
dieningssysteem.
De bediening van keramische
kookplaten
Elk verwarmingselement op de glaskera-
mische kookplaat is aangesloten op een
spanningsregelaar die het in- en uitscha-
kelen van de afzonderlijke verwarmingse-
lementen regelt (meer of minder warmte).
(Zie fig. 4).
Elke spanningsregelende bedieningsknop
is genummerd van "0" tot "12".
In stand "0" is de kookplaat uitgeschakeld.
In stand "1" is de kookplaat meer uitges-
chakeld dan ingeschakeld. Bij de overige
standen neemt de ingeschakelde tijdsduur
toe terwijldeuitgeschakeldetijdsduur
afneemt,totdat uiteindelijk op stand "12"
de kookplaat continu ingeschakeld is. Op
stand "12" schakelt de kookplaat alleen uit
wanneer de thermostaat ingrijpt om de
stroomtoevoer uit te schakelen wanneer
de maximum temperatuur bereikt is.
Alvorens één van de verwarmingselemen-
ten van de kookplaatin te schakelen, dient
ude bijbehorende bedieningsknop te iden-
tificeren. Voor dit doeleinde staat naast
elke bedieningsknop een kookzone-indi-
cator.
INSTRUCTIES VOOR HET TWEE-
KRINGSCIRCUIT(ziefig. 5)
Detweekringsverwarmingselementen zijn
verwarmingsplatengemaakt van twee
wederzijds onafhankelijke verwarmingse-
lementen en worden gestuurd door een
spanningsregelaar.De spanningsregelaar
schakelt of alleen de kleinere binnenkring
in, of zowel de buiten- als de binnenkring

tegelijk.
Om alleen de binnenste ring in teschake-
len, draait ude bedieningsknop met de
klok mee in de gewenste positie. Om de
gehele kookplaat in te schakelen draaitu
de bedieningsknop met de klok mee voor-
bij stand "0" en tot ueen klik hoort. Draai
de bedieningsknop daarna in de gewenste
stand. Wanneerdegehelekookplaat
ingeschakeld is en uenkel de kleine bin-
nenring wilt inschakelen,draai dan de
bedieningsknop naar "0" en schakel de
kookplaat opnieuw in.
Wanneer slechtséén ring, of wanneer
beide ringen ingeschakeld zijn, kunt ude
temperatuur regelen door de bedieningsk-
nopineentussenliggendepositiete
draaien, net als bij de normale en haloge-
ne kookplaten die in voorgaande paragra-
fen omschreven zijn.
Met de dubbelcircuit regelaren, mag de
bedieningsknop vanuitpositie"0"
enkel met de klok mee gedraaid wor-
den. Een vergrendeling verhindert dat
de knop van "0" naar "12" gedraaid
wordten omgekeerd.
RESTWARMTE-INDICATOREN
Wanneer een kookzone een temperatuur
heeftvan meer dan 60±15ºC gaat de bij-
behorenderestwarmte-indicator aan.
Dezeblijftbranden,ook wanneer de
bedieningsknop naar "0" gedraaid wordt,
totdat de temperatuur voldoende gezakt is.
Desondanks moet uvoorzichtigheid
betrachten met de kookzone, omdat er
een kans is, hoe klein ook, dat de res-
twarmte-indicator niet werkten het zodo-
ende niet zichtbaar is dat de kookzone
heet is.
Richtlijnen voor effectief
gebruik van de kookzones
Om de beste kookresultaten teverkrijgen,
moeten de volgende richtlijnen gevolgd
worden:
*Gebruik pannen met een vlakke bodem,
hoe groter het oppervlaktecontact tus-
sen de pan en de glasplaat,hoe groter
de warmteoverdracht. Figuur 6 toont dat
pannenmet eengedeukteofholle
bodemeenkleiner contactoppervlak
hebben.
*We adviseren het gebruik van zware
pannen,zodat hetmoeilijker is de
bodem van de pan tebeschadigen.
*Het gebruik van pannen met een kleine-
re diameterdan die van de kookzone
wordtafgeraden.
*Zorg datde pannen goed gecentreerd
zijn op de lijnen op de kookzone.
*Maak de panbodem droog voordatu
deze op de glaskeramische kookplaat
zet.
*Laat geen plastic voorwerp of kookgerei,
of aluminiumfolie op de kookplaatlig-
gen.
*Schuif geen pannen methoeken of ran-
den over de kookplaat die hetglas zou-
den kunnen beschadigen.
*Schakel de kookplaat nooit in zonder pan
op de ingeschakelde kookzone.
*Kook niet in plastic pannen.

*Pannen moeten gemaaktzijn van hitte-
bestendige materialen zodat deze niet
kunnen smelten op de glasplaat.
*Het glas verdraagt stoten van grote pan-
nen zonder scherpe randen. Wees ech-
ter voorzichtig met kleine, scherpe voor-
werpen.
Voorkom het morsen van suiker
of suikerhoudende producten op de
glasplaat. De chemische reactie met
hetglas kan het oppervlak beschadi-
gen.
Reiniging en onderhoud
Om de glaskeramische kookplaat in goede
conditie te houden, moet de kookplaat
regelmatig gereinigd worden met geschik-
te reinigingsproducten. De glaskeramis-
che kookplaat moet na elk gebruik gerei-
nigd worden,wanneer deze lauwof koud
is. Dit maakthet reinigen gemakkelijker en
voorkomthet ophopen van vuil door her-
haaldelijk gebruik.
Gebruik nooit agressieve reinigingsmidde-
len of producten die het oppervlak kunnen
beschadigen (in onderstaande tabel staan
verscheidene algemene producten opge-
somd diegebruikt kunnen worden).
Gebruik ook geen stoomreinigers voor het
reinigen van de kookplaat.
REINIGING EN ONDERHOUD VAN DE
GLASPLAAT
Er moet rekening gehouden worden met
de matevan vuilheid tijdens het schoon-
maken. Stem de reinigingsmiddelen en
hulpmiddelen af op de mate van vuilheid.
Lichte vervuiling
Minimale, niet-plakkerige vervuiling kan
verwijderd worden met een vochtige doek
en een mild reinigingsmiddel, of een warm
sopje.
Zware vervuiling
Vuil en vetmoeten gereinigd worden met
een reinigingsmiddel datspeciaal bedoeld
is voor het reinigen van glaskeramische
kookplaten (bijvoorbeeld Vitroclen). Volg
de instructies op de verpakking.
Ingebrandeplakkerige vlekkenkunnen
gemakkelijk verwijderd worden meteen
glasschraper.
Regenboogverkleuring: Dit wordtveroor-
zaakt door pannen metdroge vetplekken
aan de onderkant,ofwanneer er vet tus-

sen het glas en de pan komttijdens het
koken. Deze verkleuring kan verwijderd
worden met behulp van een schuurspons-
je met water of een speciale reiniger voor
glaskeramische kookplaten (bijvoorbeeld
Vitroclen).
Plastic voorwerpen, suiker of voedselres-
ten met een hoog suikergehalte die inge-
brand zijn in de kookplaat moeten onmid-
dellijk verwijderd worden meteen glass-
chraper.
Wanneer de kleur van hetglas verandert
Dit beïnvloedt de effectiviteit of stabiliteit
van de kookplaat niet en wordtdoorgaans
veroorzaakt door onvoldoende reiniging of
door slechte kwaliteitvan de pannen.
Metaalachtigeglanswordtveroorzaakt
door het schuiven van metalen pannen
over de glasplaat. De glans kan verwijderd
worden door de glasplaat te reinigen met
een speciale reiniger voor glaskeramische
kookplaten (bijvoorbeeld Vitroclen). Houd
er rekening mee dat de kookplaat soms
meer dan één keer gereinigd moet worden
voordat uresultaatziet.
Slijtage is het resultaat van het gebruik
van schuurmiddelen of pannen metonge-
lijke bodem die de bedrukking afslijten.
Let goed op tijdens het gebruik
van de glasschraper.Ukunt zich ver-
wonden aan het mesje!
Zorg dat alleen het mesje van de
glasschraper inaanraking komt met de
glaskeramische plaat,vermijd aanra-
king van het handvat van de glasschra-
per met de glasplaat,dit kan krassen
veroorzaken.
Gebruik alleen mesjes die in uits-
tekende staat verkeren, vervanghet
mesje zodra het tekenen van slijtage
vertoont.
Schuif het mesje in na gebruik
van de glasschraper,zorg dat het mesje
goed beschermd is. (Zie fig. 7).
Pannen kunnen vastplakken aan
de glasplaat wanneer ietstussen de
pan en de glasplaat gesmolten is. Pro-
beer de pan niet los te trekken wanneer
deze koud is-uzou de glasplaat kun-
nen breken.
Leun of stanooit op de glasplaat,
de plaat kan breken en verwonding
veroorzaken. Zet geen producten op de
glasplaat.
ETNAbehoudtzich het recht voor om haar
handleidingen te wijzigen wanneer nodig
of bevorderlijk, zonder de kern van de
inhoud te wijzigen.
Het volgende symbool op het pro-
duct of de verpakking, geeftaan dat dit
productnietalshuishoudelijkafval
behandeld mag worden.In plaatsdaar-
van dient het ingeleverd te worden bij
hetdaarvoor bestemde inzamelings-
punt voor het recyclen van elektrische
en elektronische apparatuur.Door dit
product op juiste wijze af te voeren,
helpt umogelijke negatieve invloeden
op het milieu en gezondheid te voorko-
men, die anders veroorzaakt zouden
kunnen worden door onjuiste afvoer
van dit product. Neem, voor juiste afvo-
er van dit product, contact op met uw
gemeenteloket, lokaleafvalinzame-
lingsstation of de winkel waar u dit pro-
duct gekocht heeft.

Controleer de volgende zaken alvorens de servicedienst te bellen:

Safety instructions

These hob models may be installed in the
same kitchen furniture unitsas ETNA
brand ovens.
For yoursafety,installation shouldbe
carried out by an authorised technician
and should comply with existing installa-
tion standards. Likewise, any internal work
on the hob should only be done by ETNA’s
technical staff,including the change of the
flexible supply cable of the appliance.
Please note:
When the hotplates are in opera-
tion or have recently been inoperation,
some areas willbe hot and can burn.
Children shouldbe kept wellaway.
If the glass ceramic breaks or
cracks, the hob shouldimmediately be
disconnected from the electric current
in order to avoid the risk of electric
shock.

Positioning the hobs
Depending on the model to be installed, an
opening with the dimensions shown in
figure 1will be cutinto the unit’s worktop.
The system for fixing the hob is intended
for use with kitchen unitswith athickness
of 20, 30 and 40 mm.
The hobs described in this manual can
only be installed with ETNAoven.
The minimum distance between the surfa-
ce supporting the cooking pans and the
lower part ofthe kitchen unitor the hood
located above the hob should be 650 mm.
Ifthehood’sinstallationinstructions
recommend that the gap is greater than
this, you should follow this advice.
The unit where the hob and oven will be
located will be suitably fixed.
The glues used in manufacturing
the kitchen unit and inthe adhesive on
the decorative laminate of the worktop
surface should be made to tolerate tem-
peratures of up to 100ºC.

During installation, care must be
taken not to break the glass.

Fixing the hob
When the gap has been properly sized,
the sealing washer should be put on the
lower part of the hob. Silicone shouldnot
be applied between the glass and the
unit worktop because if it becomes
necessary to remove the hob from its
position,the glass could break when
trying to detach it.

Position theclipsas shownin the diagram,
fastening them tothe openings in the lower
part ofthe body using the screwsprovided.
For worktop thicknesses of 30 mm. or less,
use the self-tapping screws that are provi-
ded as afastening accessory -put them
into the clip’sround hole.This hole will be
threaded as the screw is inserted into it,
and this should be done before fixing the
clip tothe worktop.
Connecting the electricity
Before connecting the hob tothe electric
mains, check that the voltage and fre-
quency of the mains matches what is
shown on the hob’srating plate, which is
located lower down, and on the guarantee
certificate or,where appropriate,the tech-
nical datasheet supplied, which should be
kept together with this manual.
The electric connection is made via an
omnipolar switch orplug where accessi-
ble, which is suitable for the intensity to be
tolerated and which has aminimum gap of
3mm between itscontacts, which will
ensure disconnection in case of emer-
gency or when cleaning the hob.
The connection should include correct ear-
thing, in compliance with current norms.
Avoid that the cabling remain in contact
with neither the casing of the hotplate nor
that of the oven.
Joining the hob to the oven
1Disconnect the electricity.
2Partially place the oven in itsposition.
3Plug in the connection(s) between the
cooker and the oven (see fig.3) to con-
nect both appliances. Make sure the
connectors fit completely in itssoc-
ketsand the intersection haven’tcau-
sed the exitof any of the terminals.
Tocheck this, pull slightly the cables,
one by one, making sure they have all
kept in.

Ceramic hobswith controls
instructions
Each of the glass ceramic hob’s heating
elementsis connected toapowerregula-
tor that controls the operating and stoppa-
ge time of each of them (more or less
heat). (See fig. 4)
Each power regulator control knob has
numbering from “0” to “12”.
At postion “0” the hob does not operate, at
position “1” there is not much operating
time but agreatdeal of stoppage time.
Withthe remaining control knob positions,
the operating time increases while the
stoppage time decreases, until at position
“12” where operation is continuous, only
cutting offwhen the warm hotplate’sther-
mostat cutsin to turn off the power when
the maximum permitted temperature is
reached.
Before turning on one of the hob’s heating
elements, you should identify the corres-
ponding control. Tothis end, it is shown
beside each control which heating element
it corresponds to.
DOUBLE CIRCUIT INSTRUCTIONS
(view fig. 5)
The double circuitheating elementsare
hotplates made up oftwomutually inde-
pendent heating elements, and they are
controlled by a power regulator that allows
the smaller,inside ring to be turned on, or
bothinside and outside at the same time.
Toonly have the inside ring turned on, turn
the control knob clockwise and set it to the
position you require. Toturn on the whole
hotplate, set the control to position “12”

and go on turning, gently, until it goes past
“0” and you hear a“CLICK”. Then setthe
control to the position required. When the
whole hotplateis turned on, and you only
want to have the smaller ring working,set
the control to ZERO and then turn it on
again.
Whether only one ring is turned on, or
both, you can regulatethe temperature by
setting the control to intermediary posi-
tions, just as with the normal and halogen
hobs described in the previous paragraph.
With double circuit regulators, when
the control is set to “0” it may only be
turned clockwise, as there is acatch
which prevents you moving from “0” to
“12” and vice-versa.
RESIDUALHEATINDICATORS
When aheating area reaches atempera-
ture of more than 60±15ºC the correspon-
ding residual heat indicator comes on, and
stays on -even if the control is set to zero
-until the temperature drops.However,
special attention should be paid to the
temperature of the cooking area because
there is apossibility,albeit remote, that the
indicator will fail and that the temperature
in that area will not be shown.
Advice onusing the
hotplates effectively
In order to achieve the best resultsfrom
cooking, the following guidelines should
be followed:
*Use pans with aflat base, as the greater
the surface contactbetween the pan
and the glass, the greater will be the
heattransmission. Figure 6shows how
pans that are dented orconcave have a
smaller contact surface.
*Werecommendthe useofheavypans so
thatthe baseis moredifficulttodent.
*The use ofpans with a diameter which is
smaller than thatindicated in the heating
area is not recommended.
* Make sure that the pans are well cen-
tred on the outlines shown on the hea-
ting area.
*Dry the pans’bases before putting them
on the glass ceramic hob.
*Donot leave any plastic object or uten-
sil, or any aluminium foil,lying on the
glass hob.
*Donot drag pans with corners or edges
thatcould damage the glass.
*Do not usethe glassceramichob
without apan on the area that is swit-
ched on.
*Donotcook withplastic pans.
* Pans should be made of amaterial
which is heat-resistent so that they do
not melt on the glass.
* The glass will tolerate bangs from big
pans that do not have sharp edges. Be
careful with impactsfrom small, sharp
instruments.
Avoid spilling sugar,or products
containing sugar,on the glass, since

these may react with the glass and
damage the surface.
Cleaningand care
Tomaintain the glass ceramic hob in good
condition, it should be cleaned with suita-
bleproducts. Theglass ceramic hob
should be cleaned each time it is used,
when it is either lukewarm or cool. This
makes cleaning easier and avoids dirt
accumulating through repeated use.
Never use aggressive cleaningproductsor
products thatcan scratchthesurfaces (the
tablebelow showsvariouscommon products
that maybeused).Neither should steam-
basedappliances be usedtoclean the hob.
CLEANING AND CARE THE GLASS
Thedegreeofsoilingshouldbe takeninto
accountwhencleaning,andtheitems and
productsusedshould vary accordingto this.
Light soiling
Light, non-sticky,soiling can be cleaned
with adamp cloth and asoft detergent or
warm, soapy water.
Heavy soiling
Serious dirtand grease should be cleaned
using an agent specially made for glass
ceramic.Please follow the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Sticky stains that have been burned in can
be removed by using ascaper with arazor
blade.
Rainbow colouring: Caused by pans that
have drybitsof grease on their base or
when grease getsbetween the glass and
the pan while cooking. Can be removed
from the surface ofthe glass using anickel
scourer with water or with aspecial glass
ceramic cleaner.
Plastic objects, sugar,or food with ahigh
sugar content that are melted onto the hob
should be removed immediately while hot,
using ascraper.
When the glass’colour changes.
This does not affect itseffectiveness or
stability,and is generally caused by inade-
quate cleaning or by poor-quality pans.

Metallic sheens are caused by metal pans
sliding over the glass. They can be remo-
ved by thorough cleaning withaspecial,
glass ceramic cleaning agent (for exam-
ple, Vitroclen), although it may be that the
cleaning needs to be repeated more than
once.
Worn trim is the result of using abrasive
cleaning productsor pans with uneven
bases which wear down the serigraphy.
Take great care when usingthe
glass scraper.The blade can cause
injury!
Only use the blade on the glass
ceramic surface -avoid the body of the
scraper coming into contact with the
glass, since this could scratchthe
glass ceramic.
Use blades that are in perfect con-
ditions, and change the blade as soon
as it shows any sign of wear.
When you finish using the scra-
per,foldit away and cover it wellup.
(See fig. 7).
Pans may stick to the glass if
something has melted between them.
Donot attemptto unstick the pan when
it is cold -you could break the glass
ceramic.
Do not stand on the glass or lean
on it, for it might break and cause
injury. Donot put any objectsdownon
the glass.
