This professional all-tube amplifier was developed to meet the exacting specifications of Edward Van Halen, one of
the true living legends of rock guitar. The 15-watt 5150III LBX-S amp head’s dual-channel features deliver pristine clean
tone and ferocious gain, inspiring unlimited artistic expression.
With such fierce tone and uncompromising construction, the result is phenomenal EVH performance for years to
come. Special features of this distinctive amp include dual-concentric gain and volume controls for precise and inde-
pendent control of the clean (green) and full-burn (red) channels, along with a black control panel, black metal grill
cage with EVH striped motif, and more.
A. INSERT: Plug guitar in here using only a high-quality shiel-
ded instrument cable.
B. SELECT: Pushbutton in position (GREEN) selects clean chan-
nel; out position (RED) selects full-burn channel.
C. GAIN: Dual concentric gain controls. Inner round knob
controls clean channel (GREEN) gain; outer “chicken-head”
knob controls full-burn channel (RED) gain.
D. LOW, MID, HIGH: Low, mid and high-frequency tone controls.
E. VOLUME: Dual concentric volume controls. Inner round
knob controls clean channel (GREEN) volume; outer “chi-
cken-head” knob controls full-burn channel (RED) volume.
F. PRESENCE: Ultra-high frequency tone control for both
channels.
G. POWER LAMP: Indicates amplifier is on when illuminated.

H. POWER INPUT: Connect included power cord to a
grounded outlet in accordance with voltage and frequency
ratings listed on rear panel of amplifier.
I. FUSE: With power disconnected, replace a blown fuse only
with one of the type and rating specified on rear panel of
amplifier.
J. POWER: Turns amp on and off. When first turning amplifier
on, leave OPERATE/STANDBY switch (K) in STANDBY (down)
position for  seconds while tubes warm, then set switch
to OPERATE (up) position to take amp out of STANDBY
mode. Before turning POWER switch off (down position),
put amp in STANDBY mode for  seconds
K. OPERATE/STANDBY: When taking a break from playing
and before turning amplier o as noted above (J), put amp
in STANDBY mode—which helps prolong tube life—by
setting this switch to the STANDBY (down) position. Return
switch to OPERATE (up) position when resuming play after
a break. Also as noted above (J), amp should remain in
STANDBY mode for  seconds after initial power-up.
L. POWER LEVEL: FULL position provides maximum output
power; / position reduces power to approximately four watts.
M. ADJUST BIAS/BIAS TEST POINTS: NOT USER SERVICEABLE.
These features should only be used by an authorized service
technician to adjust the bias of the amplier tubes.
N. EFFECTS LOOP: Connect SEND to effects input and
RETURN to effects output.
O. FOOTSWITCH: Connect included single-button footswitch
here for channel switching (overrides front panel switch).
P. RESONANCE: Adjusts the power amp’s low-frequency
response.
Q. LOAD IMPEDANCE: Selects output impedance (,  or 
ohms) to match speaker load.
R. SPEAKER OUTPUT: For connection to speaker cabinet.
NOTE: A speaker must always be plugged into the speaker jack
when amplifier is on, or damage may occur. Switch amplifier
off or to STANDBY (K) when changing speaker connections or
impedance settings.
S. LED ON/OFF (NOT SHOWN): Push recessed button on side
of chassis to illuminate green and red channel backlighting.
