1Introduction
This manual explains how to disassemble and assemble the printhead for an Pro L/XL to check the internal
probe cables. Only follow this guide if someone from FELIXprinters has told you to

The tools you need:
•Allen key 2
•Allen key 2,5
•Allen key 3
•Tweezers (optional)
3Disassemble
Warning: Always turn off the printer and remove the power cable
before working on the printer.
1) Turn of the printer
-Turn off the printer and remove the power cable
from the printer.

2) Remove the 2 top bolts
-Remove the 2 bolts using an allen key 2,5. Red circles.
3) Remove the side bolt
-Remove the bolt that holds the 2 printhead assemblies together using an allen key 3.
Red circle.

4) Take off the printhead
-Carefully take off the left printhead. Watch out because the head is connected to the PCB
with cables.
5) Remove the servo
-Remove the buttonhead bold that holds the servo. Use an allen key 2 or 2,5. Red circle.

6) Check probe cable connections
-Check the probe cable connection behind the servo. Tighten them and make sure the 2
ayes don’t touch each other, and touch the magnets properly. Keep in mind that they are
from plastic. Red circle.
7) Place back the servo
-Place back the servo. Make sure the orientation of the servo is the same as shown below
and the pusher pin is in the pocket. Also make sure to move the servo in the direction of
the red arrows when tightening the bolt. Red circle.

8) Check tight printhead probe connections
-Check the probe cable connection from the right extruder. Tighten them and make sure
the 2 ayes don’t touch each other, and touch the magnets properly. Keep in mind that
they are from plastic. Red circle.

4Assemble printhead
1) Place back the printhead
When slicing the printhead on the bracket make sure no cables get stuck. Red circle.
2) Place the right printhead
Start with sliding the left printhead on the bracket. Keep in mind when you slide the right
printhead on the bracked to get the servo pusher pin in the pocket. Red circle.

3) Screw the side bolt
-Tighten the bolt that holds the 2 printhead assemblies together using an allen key 3.
Red circle.
4) Place the 2 top bolts
-Place and tighten the 2 bolts using an allen key 2,5. Red circles.

5Printer check
1) Temperatures
Info: reinstall the ribbon cables into the connector if it doesn’t!
-Check if the printer can read the hotend temperatures.
2) Probe check
-Press “Advanced”.

-Press “Console”.
-Press “Send G-code”.

-Type in “M119”and send it to the printer.
-Look in the console. If the “Z-probe state”is “L”(Low) you can proceed in the manual and
try to home. If the state is “H”(High) contact Suppor[email protected]om.

3) Homing
-Press “move”.
Hit “home all”.
If it doesn’t home correctly. Turn off the printer and contact [email protected]om.

6Levelling
Info: Do all calibrations before staring a Dual head print!
1) Build plate leveling
-Press “printer calibration”.
-Press “bed leveling”.

-Hit “yes” to start the bed leveling.
-The bed leveling is done when you see this message. Hit “ok”.

2) Z-calibration
-Press “printer calibration”.
-Press “Calibrate Z”.

3) XY-calibration
-Press “printer calibration”.
-Press “Calibrate XY”.

-Load in PLA in both hotends and hit “Yes”.
-Make sure line 5 matches both nozzles for the X and Y. Does it not? then enter the number
where the lines do match and start the calibration again.
You are now be able to use the FELIX Pro L or XL again.
