1Introduction
This manual explains how to replace the Pro 3 printhead properly.
2Tools
The tools you need to replace the build plate of the Pro L and XL:
•Allen key 2,5
•Allen key 3
•Tweezers (optional)
3Disassemble
Warning: Always turn off the printer and remove the power cable
before working on the printer.
1) Turn of the printer
-Turn off the printer and remove the power cable
from the printer.

2) Disconnect the ribbon cables at the printhead
-Disconnect the ribbon cables.
Be careful to not destroy the connectors.
Red circles.You can use tweezers.
3) Disconnect the servo cable at the printhead
-Disconnect the servo cable. Red circle.

4) Remove sensor bolts
-Loosen the bolts with an allen key 2,5. Red circles.
5) Remove the bracket bolts
-Loosen the bolts with an allen key 2,5. Red circles.

6) Remove the wiring on the PCB
-carefully remove all the wiring inserted in the extruder PCB. You can use an tweezer to
make is easier. Red circles.
7) Remove the 2 top bolts
-Remove the 2 bolts using an allen key 2,5. Red circles.

8) Remove the side bolt
-Remove the bolt that holds the 2 printhead assemblies together using an allen key 3.
Red circle.
9) Take off the old printhead
-Carefully take off the printhead. Watch out because the 2 heads are attached to each other
with the cables

4Assemble new printhead
1) Take the new printhead
-Take off the new printhead from the transport block. Place the old printhead on this
transport block when done.
Watch out because the 2 heads are attached to each other with the cables
2) Place the new printhead
When slicing the new printhead on the bracket make sure no cables get stuck. Red circle.

3) Place the right printhead
Start with sliding the left printhead on the bracket. Keep in mind when you slide the right
printhead on the bracked to get the servo pin in the pocket. Red circle.
4) Screw the side bolt
-Tighten the bolt that holds the 2 printhead assemblies together using an allen key 3.

5) Place the 2 top bolts
-Place and tighten the 2 bolts using an allen key 2,5. Red circles.
6) connect the wiring on the PCB
-carefully connect all the wiring to the extruder PCB. You can use an tweezer to make is
easier. Make sure none off the cables get below the nozzles! Red circles.

7) Place the bracket bolts
-Place the bolts with an allen key 2,5. Red circles.
8) Place sensor bolts
-Place the bolts with an allen key 2,5. Red circles.

-Connect the ribbon cables.

10) Connect the servo cable at the printhead
-Connect the servo cable. Make sure the servo cable doesn’t get below the nozzles!

5Heater check
1) Temperatures
Info: reinstall the ribbon cables into the connector if it doesn’t!
-Check if the printer can read the hotend temperatures.
2) Homing
-Hit move.

-Hit “home all”.
If it doesn’t home correctly. Turn off the printer and try to reinsert the cables.

6Levelling
Info: Do all calibrations before staring a Dual head print!
1) Build plate leveling
-Press “printer calibration”.
-Press “bed leveling”.

-Hit “yes” to start the bed leveling.
-The bed leveling is done when you see this message. Hit “ok”.

2) Z-calibration
-Press “printer calibration”.
-Press “Calibrate Z”.

3) XY-calibration
-Press “printer calibration”.
-Press “Calibrate XY”.

-Load in PLA in both hotends and hit “Yes”.
-Make sure line 5 matches both nozzles for the X and Y. Does it not? then enter the number
where the lines do match and start the calibration again.
You are now be able to use the FELIX Pro L or XL again.
