4 MAINTENANCE
4.1 Maintenance Schedule
The cover or pouch requires regular maintenance. Set up and
follow a maintenance schedule. The table at right represents
minimum intervals for maintenance.
When using maintenance products, follow the manufacturers’
directions and read the manufacturers’ material safety data
sheets.
Important
Improper disinfecting and cleaning can damage the
cover or pouch. Disinfect and clean only as instructed
in this manual.
WARNING
Improper maintenance can cause injury. Maintain
the cover or pouch only as described in this
manual.
INSPECTION CHECKLIST
Is the cover or pouch free of cuts, deep abrasions●
and excessive wear?
Is all stitching tight and unbroken?●
If there is elastic, is it securely attached and is it●
functional?
Are all snaps securely in place and do they function●
properly?
If there is a zipper, does it function properly and●
smoothly?
4.3 Inspecting the Cover or Pouch
Inspect the cover or pouch at regular intervals. Follow the
checklist at right and work the cover or pouch through its
functions as described in this manual. If the inspection
shows damage or excessive wear, replace the cover or pouch
or remove it from service until repair is made.

Important
The cover or pouch can be damaged by machine
drying for too long a time or at too high a setting. Use
the Low setting and remove the cover or pouch after
20 minutes. Remove any remaining moisture by line
drying.
4.2 Disinfecting and Cleaning the
Cover or Pouch
DISINFECTING
Use Crypton®Fabric Disinfectant and Deodorizer. Spray
a mist of the disinfectant on the inside and outside of the
cover or pouch and keep the surfaces wet for ten minutes,
then spot clean or machine wash as directed below.

SPOT CLEANING
Do not use solvent cleaners. Remove any excess residue,
then spray the spot with a solution of one part Tide®or
Cheer®tovepartswater.
Lightly brush the sprayed area with a soft-bristled upholstery
brush, allow the cleaner to sit for a minute, then blot with a
clean, dry towel, repeating if necessary. Spray-rinse the area
with clean water and blot with a clean, dry towel.
For stubborn stains, thoroughly wet the surface with the
solution, then brush and blot, spray-rinse and blot.
MACHINE WASHING
If the cover or pouch accumulates excessive soil, it may be
machine washed following the instructions below. However,
machine washing on a regular basis is not recommended for
this upholstery-quality fabric.
Machine wash the cover or pouch in cold water at the Gentle
setting. Use an enzyme detergent such as Tide®or Cheer®
and follow the detergent manufacturer's instructions.
Tumble dry the cover or pouch a maximum of 20 minutes
at the Low setting,then remove and hang the cover or pouch
tonishdrying.
