Side Extension Panel
for Ferno® Embalming Tables
Kit 069-5796 Side Extension Panel
Description
Kit 069-5796 includes a Side Extension Panel (SEP), two support arms, and the instructions to assemble and use a SEP with
a Ferno®101-H, 102, or 103 embalming table. The SEP is designed to provide additional width to an embalming table for
bariatric use and also serves as a splash guard.
Kit 000SEPKIT is for a Ferno®101-H embalming table only, and includes two sets of kit 069-5796 as well as two sets of kit
069-5797 (SEP storage kit for Ferno®101-H embalming tables). Please refer to manual 234-3497 for instructions on how to
install the SEP storage kit.

1. Place the SEP on a surface bottom side up (Figure 1).

1  ASSEMBLE AND ATTACH THE SEP
2. Align the spring-loaded pin in the Support Arm
Assembly with the hole in the SEP (Figure 2).
3. To release the latch, pull the ring, and then press the
latch down.
4. While applying downward pressure, press the latch on
the Support Arm Assembly down to snap the Support
Arm Assembly into place (Figure 2).
5. Once snapped in, pull upwards on the Support Arm
Assembly to verify that it locked into place.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 on the opposite end of the SEP.
7. To attach the SEP assembly to the embalming table,
simultaneously press each metal latch lock while
sliding the Support Arm Assembly onto the embalming
table (Figure 3).

8. Verify that both rubber stoppers of each support arm
assembly are rmly resting against the bottom of the
embalming table.

9. If the rubber stopper is not against the bottom of the
embalming table, turn the wingnut counterclockwise
to loosen the assembly (Figure 5).

10. Adjusttherubberstopperby turningitcounterclockwise
till it rmly rests against the bottom of the embalming
table (Figure 6).

11. Once adjusted, re-tighten the wingnut by turning it
clockwise (Figure 7).

12. The attached SEP will look like the one in Figure 8.

2  DISINFECT THE SEP
2.1 Disassemble the SEP
1. Pull the ring to release the latch while rmly pulling
the support arm assembly up to unlock and remove the
support arm assembly (Figure 9).

2. Repeat step 1 with the second support arm assembly.
3. Loosen and remove the four threaded knobs on the
SEP (Figure 10).
4. Remove both brackets with tubes attached on the SEP
(Figure 11).

2.3 Re-Assemble the SEP
1. Place the bracket of the longer tube onto the threaded
bolt near the bottom (longer end) of the SEP (Figure
12).
2. Place the bracket of the shorter tube onto the threaded
bolt near the top (shorter end) of the SEP.
2.2 Disinfect the SEP
1. Clean all surfaces of the SEP with a hard-surface
disinfectant/cleaner such as SaniZene®. Follow the
instructions on the container for application methods
and required contact time.
2. Hand wash the Support Arm Assembly with soap and
warm water. Rinse well with clear water, and dry with
a towel.

3. Thread one inverted knob onto each of the bolts on
the SEP.
4. Tighten one threaded knob into each of the holes of
the tubes.
5. Use steps 2-5 on page 3 to attach the support arm
assemblies to the SEP.
