Network Time Machine
Quick Start Guide: Premium 3 Model
Your Network Time Machine (NTM) comes with the software already installed and licensed.
After you have unpacked it from its shipping container, proceed as follows:
1. Install the NTM in a 19-inch rack.
2. Connect cables as shown in the figure below.
3. Turn on AC power to the storage units. Wait until all the green front panel LEDs on the disk
drives have stopped flashing (up to 3 minutes). Then turn on the processor unit.
4. When the Windows 2008 server login screen appears, login with username operator and
password ClearSight1.
5. Start the NTM application by selecting Start > All Programs > ClearSight Distributed >
ClearSight Network Time Machine Distributed Agent Manager.
6. After it launches, add the Agent:
!Host: localhost
!Username: Admin
!Password: (leave blank)
7. Connect to the Agent.
If you are using a 1 Gbps adapter, the ports will look like this:
Connect a USB
keyboard and
mouse here.

cables here.
Connect these Ethernet
ports to the network(s)
from which you want to
monitor, capture frames,
and perform analysis.
Connect a
monitor here.
Connect one of these
Ethernet ports to your
control network for remote
operation of this NTM.
Connect the processor to the
storage array using the black SAS
cable.
