DESCRIPTION
The model SR-1590 is an acoustic feedback suppressor using frequency displacement.
It efficiently removes acoustic feedback or links by using frequency displacement. Due to it being easy to use
it is suitable for all types of systems with multiple microphone inputs, such as conference systems,
congresses, board meetings, etc. where the microphones are particularly sensitive to acoustic feedback.
Activation/deactivation with a button.
CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
FRONT PANEL
1.- POWER: on/off switch.
2.- PROCESSING: button which allows you to activate/deactivate the feedback suppressor on the
connected inputs. By default the suppressor is automatically activated on switching the system on.
3.- POWER: LED power indicator.
4.- BYPASS: LED bypass mode indicator. In this case the feedback suppressor is deactivated and the
input signal is not processed by the system. The suppressor can be activated by pressing the
PROCESSING button once.
5.- ON: LED indicator to show that the feedback suppressor has been activated. The input signal is
processed by the system. The suppressor can be deactivated by pressing the PROCESSING button
once.
BACK PANEL
1.- LINE OUTPUT: unbalanced line level output through RCA connector. Final mix output.
2.- LINE INPUT: unbalanced line level input through RCA connector. An external mixer output with line
level for use as a feedback suppressor can be connected to this input. To activate the feedback
suppressor function you have to press the PROCESSING button on the front panel.
3.- OUTPUT: balanced output through XLR connector. Final mix output.

4.- MIC IN: microphone level input with XLR connector. An external mixer with microphone level to be used
as a feedback suppressor can be connected to this output. To activate the feedback suppressor function
you have to press the PROCESSING button on the front panel.
5.- 230 V AC/ 50 Hz mains connection socket.
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
Maintain the mixer switched off while the connections are being made.
Check that the cable connectors are firmly connected to the input connectors. A bad connection could cause
noise or interference.
Use suitable cables and ones that are not excessively long to make the connections: shielded cables,
preferably low capacity.
Always start with the mixer volume controls at a minimum. Move the controls slowly.
To clean the system use a dry cloth or an air spray.
Connect the source to the mains (230 V AC).
When not using the mixer disconnect the power supply source from the mains to avoid using electricity.
CONNECTION DIAGRAM
The model SR-1590 acts as a feedback suppressor for an external source connected via a balanced XLR mic.
Level input or an unbalanced RCA line level input.
Connect the output of the external source (microphone mixer, conference system, etc.) to the MIC IN or LINE
INPUT on the back panel, depending on its level. Activate the feedback suppressor by pressing the
PROCESSING button on the front panel.
The LINE OUTPUT OR OUTPUT outputs can be introduced again in the external source, if it has a
SEND/RETURN or PRE OUT/AMP IN. Otherwise, the LINE OUTPUT or OUTPUT can be introduced in a
power amp.

ACOUSTIC FEEDBACK DETECTION
The main mission of the SR-1590 is to remove links or acoustic feedback in the inputs connected to it.
Acoustic feedback is produced when the sound reproduced by the speakers is picked up on again by the
microphone, to be amplified again. It is known as the LARSEN effect. It could be due to a bad distribution of
the microphones in a room, the acoustic conditions of the area or excessive amplification.
The feedback suppressor removes the links by displacing the frequency of the audio signal a few hertz using
very precise oscillation. In this way it avoids the production of acoustic feedback at a frequency that is
favoured by the amplification system and the characteristics of the area it is being used in.
So that the feedback suppressor works, it has to detect which of the microphone inputs is producing the
effect. Then the gain level of that input has to be attenuated to the exact point where it can tell that the
microphone is being linked and the feedback suppressor has to be activated using the buttons.
If acoustic feedback is not detected, activating the feedback suppressor is not necessary, as the system
response will be unnecessarily weakened at high frequencies.
ADJUSTING THE FEEDBAC PARAMETERS
It is possible to adjust the feedback suppressor parameters precisely. To access the two adjustment
potentiometers you need to unscrew the screws on the top lid on the top and sides of the system.
Once open, on the right-hand side of the back you will find two blue square potentiometers, as shown in the
picture, which let you adjust the sensitivity of the inputs and the speed of the signal displacement.
To work with these, use a precision screw driver. Moving the adjustment anti-clockwise the sensitivity and
speed increases. Turning it clockwise, it decreases.
