Fostex PD-4v2 Owner's manual

PD-4v2
Professional Portable Timecode DAT Recorder
Offering all the power of a
Fostex timecode-capable DAT
recorder in a rugged portable
unit, the new PD-4v2 is the
perfect remote DAT recorder
for nearly any application. It is
equally useful for field record-
ing, ENG, or live performance
recording, and offers a com-
plete, self-contained recording
solution. With its convenient
built-in 3 to 2 mic/ line mixer,
selectable sampling frequencies, and built-in timecode capabilities, it’s like
having a full production DAT recorder with you on site.
The PD-4v2’s features were intelligently designed to provide maximum control and
ease of use in remote locations. For instance, its simple, intuitive, and upgradable
software interface requires only 6 settings to configure the unit to your preferences,
making the PD-4v2 quick and easy to set up. Its onboard 48V phantom power mean
that you can use condenser mics without worrying about powering them. Its trans-
port mechanism features a new, unique “anti-jam” construction so the PD-4v2 won’t
let you down at critical moments. And its light weight (only 6lbs, including the bat-
tery) and improved panel lock functions mean that it can be carried in a rugged
Portabrace case without false triggering of keys, and without straining your arms.
Best of all, because the PD-4v2 is a fully professional DAT recorder built to studio
recording standards, it will provide utterly high-end results in virtually any situation.
It even records at 48.048kHz for digital video applications. Capturing digital audio in
remote settings has never been better or easier.
