4. Important Notes
• Installation, commissioning and maintenance are to be performed only by a
qualified technician according to the instructions provided and in accordance with
legal requirements and acknowledged rules of technology.
• All technical connection regulations specified by the local water and electricity
supply utility companies must be complied with.
• All rights reserved to make technical alterations.
5. Application
PROTRONIC - A3000 open opto-electronically controlled washing-unit fitting DN 15
for in-wall installation, for connecting to premixed warm or cold water.
With facility for externally controlling options such as fittings settings and
communication via ECC function controller.
Control functions:
• Hygiene flushing (10 seconds), 24 hours after last usage
• Safety shut-off after 5 minutes duration reflection
Additional functions with ECC function controller (Ethernet):
• Automatic thermal disinfection according to DVGW work sheet W 551 as well as
safety switch-off
• Cleaning system shut-down

Warning!
The power supply (not included in the scope of delivery, see accessories,
Chapter 19) must be set up outside of the wet area, in a separate room.
Failure to observe can mean risk of death or material damage, e. g. from electric
shock or fire.
☞The system line (not included in the scope of delivery) for connecting the power
supply to the fittings must be installed in a conduit (to be supplied by customer) and
looped through.
10.1 Mount the in-wall installation box horizontally into the recess provided for this
purpose and fasten.
Caution!
While turning the union nuts (a), use an open-end spanner to hold the water volume
regulators (b) in place.
10.2 Connect to the water supply.

10.3 Align the water volume regulator in such a way that the screw plug (c) and the
operating element (d) are freely accessible. If necessary, loosen the flush connector
for this purpose.
10.4 Mount the tube (f) to the flush connector.
10.5 Open the water volume regulator with a hollow hexagon wrench.

10.6 Flush the pipes in compliance with DIN 1988.
10.7 Check the connections for leaks.
10.8 Close the flow volume regulator.
10.9 Lay the system line (i) through the conduit and loop it from fitting to fitting.
☞Let the system line hang out of the in-wall installation box approx. 50 cm.
10.10 Install the electronic T-junction (k) (see Chapter 11.).
10.11 Remove the tube.
10.12 Mount the shell protector.
11. Installing the Electronic T-junction
☞Important!
The components of the electronic T-junction must be installed only when they are in
a dead condition.
☞Recommended system lines see Chapter 19., Accessories.
When using other cables for the system line, note the different colour coding. The
outer diameter must not exceed 7.5 mm.
11.1 Strip the shielding (a) off from the system lines (approx. 40 mm).
11.2 Fit the union nut (c) on to the system line (b) up to the stop.
☞The cable cores are marked with numbers 1 through 4.

11.3 Latch the cable cores (d) into the cable core guides (e) according to their colours.
11.4 Cut off the protruding ends of the cable core so that they are flush, i.e. so that they
do not protrude.
11.5 Place the union nut (c) on the electronic T-junction (f) and tighten with the required
torque (1.2 Nm).
Caution!
Ensure correct polarity.
Each core cable colour must be in the same cable core guide on both union nuts.
☞When the union nut is being tightened, the electrical contact and the pull-relief are
automatically established.
Special seals provide protection against dust and water.
12. Mounting the Complete Installation Kit
Warning!
• Operate the product only with safety extra low voltage (SELV). Do not earth the
components.
• The power supply (not included in the scope of delivery, see accessories,
Chapter 19) must be set up outside of the wet area, in a separate room.
• Secure the electric connection with an earth leakage circuit breaker (RCD).
Failure to observe can mean risk of death or material damage, e.g. from electric
shock or fire.
☞The system line (not included in scope of delivery) for connecting the power supply
to the fittings must be installed in a conduit (to be supplied by customer) and looped
through.
12.1 Remove the shell protector.
12.2 Close the water volume regulator with a hollow hexagon wrench.

12.3 Unscrew the locking screw (c) on the flow volume regulator.
12.4 Replace the filter (d).
☞Important!
Ensure that the filter is positioned the right way round.
12.5 Screw-in the locking screw (c) on the flow volume regulator.
Caution!
While turning the union nuts (f), use an open-end spanner to hold the water volume
regulators (e) in place.
12.6 Remove the flush connector (g) and the existing seals.
12.7 Mount the solenoid valve (h) using new seals and the tube (i).

12.8 Mount the frame (j) horizontally.
12.9 If necessary, shorten the spacers (k) to fit between the front edge of the recessed
cabinet and the surface of the tiles.

12.10 Mount the tube (l) to the outlet.
12.11 Open the water volume regulator (see Instruction Step 12.2).
12.12 Check the water connections for leaks.
12.13 Install the line connections between the electronic module, the solenoid valve unit
(m) and the opto-sensor (n).

☞Important!
Ensure that the tube is not kinked.
12.14 Hook-in the cover plate (o) on to the top of the tongues in the frame and attach.
12.15 Use the screws (p) to fix the cover plate at the bottom.
13. Function
13.1 Approach the sensor with your body.
• Water flows.
13.2 Move your body away from the sensor.
• Water flow stops automatically.

16. Maintenance and Servicing
Depending on the quality of the water, the local conditions and the rules and
regulations applicable on site, the fitting must be maintained and serviced at regular
intervals.
Perform maintenance on the following components:
• Aerators
• Filters (see Chapter 17.)
Use suitable cleaning agents that are not harmful to the fittings in a proper manner
and rinse with water after use. High-pressure cleaners must not be used for
cleaning.
Remove the cover plate
To perform maintenance work it is necessary to remove the cover plate.
16.1 Remove the screws (c) from the bottom of the cover plate.
16.2 Pull the cover plate (b) down and forwards and then unhinge upwards.
16.3 Close the flow volume regulator (see Instruction Step 10.5).
16.4 Trigger the valve.
17. Replacing Filters
Filter for water volume regulator
17.1 Remove the cover plate (see Chapter 16.).
17.2 Unscrew the locking screw (c) on the flow volume regulator.
17.3 Replace the filter (d).
☞Important!
Ensure that the filter is positioned the right way round.
17.4 Reassemble in the reverse order.
