TETHERING OF THE UNIT
(FormodelTDR5andTDR8unitswhenstackedorplacedonbasewithcastors)
Warning:Safetystandardsrequirethat,whenthisapplianceisproperlyconnectedtothe
electricalpowersupplyusingexibleconduit,adequatemeansbeprovidedtolimitmove-
mentoftheappliancewithoutdependingonortransmittingstresstotheelectricalconduit.
Thismeansthat,aspartoftheinstallation,thebaseorbottomunitofstackedmodelsmust
besecuredtothebuildingstructure(typicallyeitherwalloroor)tolimitthemovementof
theapplianceand,thus,helpingtopreventdamagetotheconduitduringcleaning,main-
tenanceandserviceoperations.
Atetherbracket,asshownonthedrawingbelow,isprovidedwiththebaseorstackingkit.
Basedontheroutingoftheexibleconduit,thebracketmustbeinstalledalongwiththe
castertoonecornerofthebaseusingthehardwareprovided.Theremainingopenholein
thecenterofthetetherbracketistobeusedtosecureoneendofthetether(locallysupplied
chain,cable,etc.).Theotherendofthetetheristobesecuredtoananchoringpointinthe
buildingstructure.
Note: Length of tether must be shorter than the flexible conduit to make sure that during
appliance movement, no stress is transmitted to the conduit.
Warning:Followinginstallation,checktoconrmthat,whentheapplianceismovedtothe
limitsofthetetherineachdirection,nostressistransmittedtotheelectricalconduit.
