Notes on Handling the Product
About this product
This productis designed andmanufacturedforstandardapplications. Suchapplications include, but arenotlimited to,
generaloffice work,personalandhomeuse,andgeneralindustrial use.Theproduct isnotintendedforapplicationsthat
requireextremelyhigh levelsofsafetytobeguaranteed(referredtobelowas"safety-critical"applications).Useofthe
productforasafety-criticalapplicationmaypresentasignificant riskofpersonalinjuryand/ordeath.Such applications
include,butarenot limitedto,nuclearreactorcontrol,aircraftflightcontrol,airtrafficcontrol,masstransit control,medical
lifesupport,andmissilelaunchcontrol.Customersshall notusetheproductforasafety-criticalapplicationwithout
guaranteeingtherequiredlevelofsafety.Customerswhoplantouse theproductin asafety-criticalsystemarerequested
toconsult theFujitsusales representativesin charge.
Storage ofaccessories
Keep theaccessories ina safeplacebecausetheyarerequiredforserveroperation.
Adding optional products
Forstableoperation ofthePRIMEQUEST2000seriesserver,useonlyaFujitsu-certified optionalproductasanadded
option.
Note that the PRIMEQUEST2000 seriesserver is notguaranteed to operate with anyoptional product notcertifiedby
Fujitsu.
Maintenance
OnlyFujitsucertifiedserviceengineersshould perform thefollowingtaskson this productand the
optionsprovidedbyFujitsu.Customersmustnotperform thesetasks underanycircumstances.

Modifyingthisproductorrecyclingasecondhandproductbyoverhaulingitwithoutpriorapproval
mayresultinpersonalinjurytousersand/orbystanders ordamagetotheproductand/orother

Note on erasing data from hard disks when disposing of the product or transferring it
Disposingofthisproduct or transferringitas ismayenablethirdpartiesto accessthe dataonthehard diskanduseitfor
unforeseen purposes.Topreventtheleakage ofconfidentialinformationandimportantdata,allofthedataonthehard
diskmustbe erasedbefore disposalor transfer of theproduct.

However,itcanbe difficulttocompletelyeraseallofthedatafromtheharddisk.Simplyinitializing(reformatting)thehard
diskordeletingfilesontheoperatingsystem isinsufficientto erasethedata,eventhoughthedataappearsataglance to
havebeenerased. This typeofoperationonlymakesitimpossibleto accessthedatafromtheoperatingsystem.
Malicious thirdpartiescanrestore thisdata.
Ifyousave yourconfidential informationorotherimportantdataontheharddisk, youshouldcompletelyerasethedata,
insteadofsimplycarryingouttheaforementionedoperation,to preventthedatafrombeing restored.Topreventimportant
data ontheharddiskfrombeingleaked whentheproductis disposedofortransferred,youwillneedtotakecaretoerase
allthedatarecordedonthehard diskon yourownresponsibility.
Furthermore,if asoftware license agreementrestricts thetransfer ofthesoftware(operatingsystemandapplication
software)ontheharddiskintheserver orotherproductto athirdparty, transferringtheproductwithoutdeletingthe
softwarefromtheharddiskmayviolatetheagreement.Adequateverificationfromthispoint of viewisalsonecessary.
