*1: An Oracle-brand Fibre Channel card driver may be used for Fujitsu Fibre Channel cards.
To confirm which driver should be used, check the "Notes" and "Fibre Channel Cards that Require an Ora-
cle-brand Driver" sections in "FUJITSU Storage ETERNUS DX Configuration Guide -Server Connection- (Fi-
bre Channel) for Oracle Solaris".
2.1.4 Setting the Host Response for the ETERNUS DX8000 S2 series using the ETER-
NUS Multipath Driver
For a configuration in which the ETERNUS Multipath Driver is used with the ETERNUS DX8000 S2 series, using
the TPG Referrals function is recommended to improve the performance of the ETERNUS DX8000 S2 series.
A new host response needs to be added and configured to use the TPG Referrals function. The configuration
varies depending on the host response that is selected in "2.1.3 Setting the Host Responses" (page 10).

sponse Setting details
AIX EMPD Reservation Conflict Response for Test Unit Ready: Conflict
Host Specific Mode: AIX Mode
TPG Referrals: Enable
For the parameters that are not listed above, set the same value as the "Default" host
response.
Default TPG Referrals mode: Enable
For the parameters that are not listed above, set the value that is provided in "Recom-
mended Patterns of Host Responses" in the "Add Host Response" section of "ETERNUS
Web GUI User's Guide".
In addition, for the TPG Referrals function support status in the ETERNUS Multipath Driver, check the support
information for each Multipath Driver.
2.1.5 Setting the CA Port Groups
Create new FC port groups and register the ports as members of the groups. A FC port group is a group of FC-
CA type ports that are connected to the specified host group. Configure the host affinity setting for each FC
port group.
2.1.6 Registering the WWNs of the Accessing Fibre Channel Cards (Setting FC Host)
Register the WWN of each Fibre Channel card installed in the server that will access the ETERNUS DX. At the
same time, set the host response numbers registered in "2.1.3 Setting the Host Responses" (page 10) to ac-
cept these WWNs.
Registering the FC host WWNs and setting up Host Affinities as described elsewhere, allows limits to be set
on which servers are allowed to access which ETERNUS DX LUNs.
