Introduction
This manual provides technical information on "CardiMax FX-8322/FX-8322R" (hereafter referred to as
"FX-8322/FX-8322R") for Fukuda Denshi service personnel and authorized engineers.
Before performing maintenance or troubleshooting on the equipment, read the manual carefully in order to use it
correctly and safely.
When servicing or adjusting this equipment, strictly observe the cautions and procedures described in this service
manual. Failure to follow the instructions in this manual may lead to serious accidents.

These warnings and cautions described here provide important information on equipment safety; and they must be
observed when using the equipment.

Do not modify electronic devices for medical use.
Otherwise, the safety of FX-8322/FX-8322R cannot be ensured and the patient or
the operator may be exposed to dangerous situation.
CAUTION
This service manual is intended for use by authorized Fukuda Denshi service
personnel and technicians trained in medical electronic equipment.
Use proper facilities and tools when repairing and/or assembling the
FX-8322/FX-8322R.
When operating the equipment with its housing removed, a safety check will
be required after it has been assembled. Contact the related department of
Fukuda Denshi (International Sales Division) beforehand when operating the
equipment with its housing removed.
In order to avoid damage to electric parts by static electricity, operate the
equipment on a working desk with anti-static mat. Furthermore, make sure to
wear an anti-static wrist strap designed to discharge static electricity from
human body when operating the equipment.
Keep PC boards and electric parts that have been removed from the
equipment in a conductive bag in order to protect them from static electricity,
liquid spills and shock.
When replacing parts, make sure to only use parts that are specified for the
FX-8322/FX-8322R.
Use proper screwdrivers to tighten or loosen screws.
Make sure to use screws that are specified by Fukuda Denshi.
When reassembling, make sure all screws are tightened to original positions
and all disconnected connectors are reconnected properly.
Make sure to handle the FX-8322/FX-8322R according to the instructions
given in the [FX-8322/FX-8322R Operation Manual].
Also, refer to the operation manual for usage precautions.

DANGER
Do not operate the FX-8322/FX-8322R in an atmosphere of flammable anesthetic
gas or oxygen in high concentration.
Explosion or fire may result.
Do not operate the FX-8322/FX-8322R within a hyperbaric oxygenation tank.
Explosion or fire may result.
Do not operate the FX-8322/FX-8322R in a place where flammable liquids or gases
such as anesthetics, oxygen, and hydrogen are used.
Explosion or fire may result.
●Labels
CAUTION
The DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION labels attached to FX-8322/FX-8322R
provide important information for using the equipment safely and properly.
Do not damage or erase characters on the labels.
●Transportation/Relocation
CAUTION
Do not use the equipment in locations subject to strong vibrations, excessive dust,
or in the vicinity of chemicals.
A failure may result.
Do not subject the FX-8322/FX-8322R to a strong impact or vibration. Be careful not
to drop it.
Electric shock or fire may result.
●Temperature
CAUTION
To avoid condensation due to sudden temperature change, leave the equipment in
the new environment until it cools/warms to ambient temperature.
Operating temperature range of the FX-8322/FX-8322R is between +10 and +40
degrees Celsius.
If the equipment had been stored in low temperature below +10 degrees Celsius, leave
the equipment in room temperature for some time before turning on its power.

●Specified items
WARNING
Make sure to only use accessories and option items that are specified for the
FX-8322/FX-8322R.
Use of non-specified products may lead to inferior performance of the equipment,
including the possibilities of injury to the patient and operator as well as failure of the
equipment.
●Battery
WARNING
Never use batteries other than those specified for the FX-8322/FX-8322R.
Use of batteries other than those specified may result in a failure or inferior performance of
the equipment.
●Media cards
WARNING
Do not insert any media card into an incompatible card slot.
It may cause an injury to the patient or the operator, or result in a serious failure of the
equipment.
Never disassemble media cards. Do not touch the terminal of the SD card with your
hand.
Do not remove media cards from the equipment while data are being read or written
to them.
It may damage the media cards resulting in data loss and/or cause a failure of the
FX-8322/FX-8322R.
●Operation
WARNING
Do not unplug the AC power supply or remove the battery while the
FX-8322/FX-8322R is in operation.
To stop operating the FX-8322/FX-8322R, turn off its power by following the
instructions in the operation manual.
It could otherwise result in irreparable damage to the system files.

●About Maintenance and Callibration
WARNING
If, during a safety inspection, a value that exceeds the allowable limit is confirmed,
immediately stop using the FX-8322/FX-8322R; then replace the defective part or
make proper repairs.
Failure to repair the unit can lead to a serious accident.
CAUTION
Note that we are not responsible for accidents caused by not performing
maintenance and inspection.
Make sure to carry out daily check before using the equipment.
Perform periodic inspections once every 6 to 12 months.
Periodic inspections are essential for preventing failures or accidents and maintaining
safety and effectiveness of the equipment.
Make sure to start using the equipment after due preparation.
Ensure that the equipment is installed correctly and that all cables are properly
connected.
Maintenance should be carried out by a specialist.
Use an electronic voltmeter or a digital voltmeter as a measuring instrument for the
daily/periodic check.
Make sure to clean each section after performing the check.
CAUTION
Remove the battery, media cards, etc. from the equipment before replacing any
parts.
When soldering a fuse, be careful not to let the soldering iron touch the fuse any
longer than necessary.
The heat may cause the fuse to melt.
Once a fuse is removed, it must not be reused even if it is conducting (not broken).
It may have been exposed to heat and/or mechanical stress during the process of being
removed from the PC board.

1 Overview
yThe FX-8322/FX-8322R is a general purpose ECG that can be used for screening heart diseases as well as
for general ECG examinations, by performing ECG examinations with a minimum of 12 leads including
limb and chest leads and recording ECG data and their measurement results in health clinics and hospitals.
For the FX-8322R, external monitor can be connected.
yIts features are as follows:
1) A 6.5-inch color TFT LCD display provides superior visibility over the FX-7402.
2) Z-fold paper can now be built into the unit, enabling easier transportation from the trolley.
3) The FX-8322/FX-8322R thermal outputs 2D result report presenting a heart illustration based on
observation and measurement results, as well as treatment information which can be useful for informed
consent.
4) It presents the ECG device states and abnormal states as icons to notify the user of any relevant event. It
also displays messages to help the user recover from any abnormal state.
